Took me a hot minute to get truly into this but once I did I couldn’t put it down! And this is a looooong book, but so enjoyable. A real whole other world fantasy with a gripping slow burn romance. I immediately started reading the second book when I finished, after that very sad and dramatic ending 💔

What to expect:

- fantasy
- gods and monsters
- opposites attract
- forced proximity
- one bed
- forbidden romance
- spicy

I sadly ended up DNFing this book at 37% but based on what I had read in this and the previous installment, I have it 3 stars for what I'm sure this book means to others.

I picked up this series a week ago and have read through three books with addictive speed. I really enjoyed the Book of Azrael and I really love the character development of Dianna and Samkiel. The end of the Book of Azrael was devastating and I was so glad I could pick up The Throne of Broken Gods straight away.

Dianna is so badass and I love her attitude throughout the books. Her grief manifested was so powerful and I loved her story however the first half of the book felt slow. It certainly picked up and the second half of the book was all guns blazing. Cameron and Xavier are likely going to be my new favourite characters.

The only thing I found a bit frustrating with this book is that I think it could have been a whole lot shorter. There was a lot of conversation scenes that really went on and a lot of telling rather than being immersed in the World. It also being part of a potential seven book series I hope that there are answers for Diana and Samkiel and the future books move on to other characters.

This is a great dark, fantasy romance which lovers of this genres are going to devour. I'd rate this 3.5 stars.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this in exchange for an honest review.

Continuing straight on from book one Throne of Broken Gods deals with the side of grief as well as continuing the character growth of Dianna.

Dianna is a completely fierce fmc and I loved her so much more in this book.

The story progress so well and the pacing was exceptionally well done. Can’t wait to read the next book!

I told you I was doing it and I totally did. Thank you Headline, Headline Eternal and NetGalley for the arc of The Throne of Broken Gods by Amber V. Nicole - there is no way I couldn’t dive straight in after that humongous cliffhanger at the end of The Book of Azrael! Nicole continues book 2 with zero mid-book spoilers and 100% romance and fantasy blended so beautifully that’s it’s painful to put down!

Book 2 totally explores grief and there is nothing more devastating and heartbreaking than Dianna's journey into darkness after the events of book 1 - I know, you were looking for a spoiler! In spite or even because of her total devastation, the chemistry between Dianna and Samkiel is even hotter, more emotional and truly angst filled than in book 1, and trust me there is plenty of spice amidst the twisted and convoluted plot that Nicole has woven.

I can truly say I steam rollered my way through book 2, struggling to put it down, particularly as the improvement and growth in narrative and story made it all the more engaging. As I said in Book 1, I struggled a bit with Diana, now I’m totally Team Dianna!

Once again the book ends with a master class in how to leave your reader clinging to that cliff by their fingernails and I can truly say that if you love fantasy, romance, devastation, thrilling plots, action and a very healthy offering of spice, definitely pick this book up!

I’m heading straight into The Dawn of the Cursed Queen - who knows what emotional destruction Nicole has left to weave, I’m not ready for it but, I’m going in!

After the cliffhanger last year from the first book (which I had also rated 5 stars) I should have known better before reading this, as it ended in a cliffhanger too and now I'm stuck waiting for another book to come out. Unbelievable
But this was so SO GOOD!
This whole book was basically about grief and handling the permanent loss of a loved one. It was handled well, and tbh I would get murderous tendencies too, duh! I also enjoyed little Sami simping hard on miss Dianna, as he should! As all men should!
There were one or two things that were painfully obvious to the readers, but not to the characters, but there were so many things revealed that I did not see coming, but mostly because our characters were oblivious. Those were some good twists tho.
Anyway, the plot of this series is just *chefs kiss* and the smut is even better. All of it is worth it!
