I mean only it wasn't addictive romance story about a man a woman the marriage and business. One was a big send the other was an avenger and everything turned hot in the bedroom.
3.5 Stars

I enjoyed this story and it was a quick read at just over 110 pages.
I do think that the length of the book was an issue for me as the stories within the book were not really developed as well as I would have expected having read previous books by this author. The book could easily have been longer and it had a lot of potential. That said I did enjoy the story, it was a fun story and I loved that gorgeous cover!
Three stars from me, a quick and enjoyable read!

It's a bit Cinderella mixed with the whole "$1M for a night with your wife" minus the initial marriage. Our leading man (Cabe) is certainly not one to take things lying down, but our leading lady (Nina) isn't the shrinking violet she at first appears to be...points which I've already mentioned. Much could have been solved so simply if full disclosure was utilized, but then we wouldn't have had the bit of cloak and dagger fun, now would we? Though individually, I got where they were coming from and even the off color was they treated each other, it wasn't quite enough to morph my like of the story to love. There was too much unfinished business and random plot turns that while not completely off the page, still left me scratching my head as to how/why it was being introduced.
In the end, I'm not saying I want to be godmother to the book's children, but I wouldn't mind being an acquaintance. The characters were an interesting lot as was their sordid histories, and while I wasn't completely caught up in the happenings as they unfolded, it wasn't enough to push me away from the screen.

Rating 1.5/5
I was really disappointed with this book, I had read another of Sun Chara's books and thought it was okay, a guilty pleasure type, but this one was nothing like that.
The story seemed to jump around a lot without any kind of flowing narrative, I felt like I was only hearing one side of a conversation like I was continually missing something. It didn't make for a pleasant reading experience at all.
Thankfully this is a short book so I didn't have to put up with it for very long, unfortunately, I didn't get the chance to warm to either character. Not that I think I would be able to warm to Cade at all, I mean I'm all for a bad boy but not one to that extreme I didn't find anything sexy about him. There's that slightly controlling and hot type Alpha male but in this case it came off as something more brutal and for me totally off-putting.
Maybe, and it's a big maybe, if there had been a lot more in the way of character development then I could buy that him treating her like a piece of dirt was hot but personally it just ended up feeling like some twisted, self-involved, unlikeable guy trying to get his kicks.
I also didn't like that there didn't appear to be any chemistry between them, they are thrown together at the start and there's not much there, then it skips to a year later and I just didn't find it believable that Nina would feel like she was at risk of losing her heart to someone that she hadn't seen in a year and who then treats her appallingly.
With the ending I felt the explanation didn't actually explain anything, I don't want to spoil it but I don't feel like it was a good enough reason to justify any of the things that happened in the book.
Like I said I'm really disappointed with this book and unfortunately this means I won't be reading anything else from this author.

3.5☆ A Charming Sweet Story
(Rounded up to 4☆ for Amazon & Goodreads)
Manhattan Millionaire’s Cinderella is a charming read that swept me off my feet.
Cade is a shrewd businessman but when his business is about to go under he enlists in his assistant Nina to become his wife.
The plan is half of his equity and one night of passion to seal the deal. Then a quick divorce!
The chemistry between them is sizzling. As they brush against each other spark fly and the passion is so obvious she can't help say no to him and agrees to his terms.
Fast forward one year later and Nina has stitched up Cade runaway no where to be seen.
But after a year he has tracked her down.
Will the re kindle the passion between them or are things about to turn sour!
Nina was such an interesting character. She knew exactly what she wanted and wasn't affraid to go after it.
Manhattan Millionaire’s Cinderella is a short read that packs alot in.
Sometimes it felt disjointed where so much was packed in to such a short space.
I just wish it would of been longer!
I really liked Nina but I wanted more of their back stories.
For me this would of easily been a 4☆ had I got more character development.
If you enjoy short sweet passionate reads then you will enjoy this enchanting story.

3.5 Cinderella Stars 🌟🌟🌟.5
A sweet Cinderella retelling shoes and all.... this was a book filled with romance, mystery, travel, secrets, and shoes....
This was a good Book that really could have been so much better.... it’s hard when a book is so short especially with such a complex plot.... there were times I was a little lost, and I think if things could have been better explained I would not have found myself in that situation.... also I think this is true of the character of Nina, I think I would’ve absolutely adored her had there been more time in the book to flesh her out...
Cade is forced to get married in order to improve his companies situation..... Nina seems like the perfect candidate, but she has her own agenda.... I really liked both Cade and Nina and I think given a little more character development I would have liked them even more... although admittedly at times they were a bit ridiculous with one another....
I was happy with the ending and as in all good fairytale retellings they all live happily ever after...
*** thank you to the author and publisher for a copy of this book ***

If you like contemporary romance, you will love Sun Chara’s gloriously escapist, spellbinding and captivating novels. Packed with passion, emotion and glamour, Sun Chara’s tales are not to be missed and Manhattan Millionaire’s Cinderella is a fast-paced and thrilling romance you will simply adore!
Cade Sloan did not become a global real estate mogul by being too trusting and wearing his heart on his sleeve. Cade rose to the top of his profession and became a force to be reckoned with in the business world by being tough, ruthless and always a step ahead of his competitors. Cade trusts nobody except himself. He has always kept emotions at bay and feelings firmly under lock and key. Sentiment has got absolutely no place in business and letting one’s guard down has always been absolutely anathema to Cade. However, that was before he met Nina, a woman who might solve all of his problems…and maybe even tear down the defenses which he has built around his heart…
Nina has always believed that Cade is the reason why her family have had to suffer so much pain, misery and anguish. But he might just be the one who will solve all the problems that are weighing her and her family down. When Cade proposes a marriage of convenience that could get her out of a very tight spot, Nina accepts. However, when she overhears a phone conversation where her new husband shows his true colours, Nina finds herself with no other choice but to run out on her husband with his money. But Cade is not a man who forgives and he certainly never forgets!
When he tracks her down, Cade demands his money back – and the wedding night he had been denied. Nina knows she should not give into Cade’s demands, but saying no to the man she desires body and soul proves easier said than done. When their marriage of convenience gives way to a passion that simply cannot be denied, will Cade and Nina realise that happiness can be within reach if they admit the truth about the depth of their feelings for one another? Or they condemned to spending the rest of their lives alone living as sworn enemies?
Manhattan Millionaire’s Cinderella is a fabulous read that has got it all: fantastic characters, emotional tension, red-hot chemistry, financial chicanery, exotic locations, humour, passion and suspense. Sun Chara spins a tale rich in romance and intrigue and if you are looking for an uplifting read to cheer up a dull afternoon, then look no further than the engrossing and enjoyable Manhattan Millionaire’s Cinderella!

This is a story of double crossing, betrayal, conniving and desperation. To stop his company going bankrupt, Cade Sloan needs a wife – now. He asks his secretary to marry him and offers to pay her to do so and, for her own reasons, she agrees. However, when she hears him talking on the phone she no longer feels safe and literally runs away, taking the not insignificant amount of money with her …. When he catches up with her again, he’s determined she’ll pay her debts to him, with interest.
This is a romantic suspense and one where, unusually, I actually disliked the hero for most of the story. He bullies, bribes, threatens and really does treat Nina like he is one of the stepfamily and she’s Cinderella, showing little regard or respect for her. However, the plot is quite complex, with intrigue and suspense, everything happens at a fast pace and packs a lot into a relatively short story. As complex motivations, causes and revelations of secrets from the past are made everything becomes clearer. It is a jet setting romantic suspense and an easy, quick read. I’ll definitely give this author another go!
I requested and was lucky enough to be given a copy of this novel, via NetGalley, with no obligation. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.

Everyone has their own agenda and secrets. A marriage "of convenience" or as a matter of business but all involved in this "deal" have their own reasons and desires. A misunderstanding stemming from an overheard conversation turns a run-away bride into a Cinderella-ish housemaid under constant surveillance.
Loyalty and revenge both have their role as this story plays out.
Can lust level the playing field? Can truth and love make their voices heard?
You'll never be sure who has the upper hand in this back and forth relationship.

Mysterious, fast-paced, and romantic!
Manhattan Millionaire’s Cinderella is a short, passionate rom-com featuring the dominant, wealthy Cade, and the fiery, determined Nina as they enter into a marriage of convenience that benefits both of their hidden agendas.
The prose is taut and edgy. The characters are unique, devious and insistent. And the plot is ultimately about life, love, dominance, family, money, corruption, desire, lust, and deception.
Overall, Manhattan Millionaire’s Cinderella is a quick, entertaining read with a great premise that I wish was just a little bit longer so that the characters could be fully drawn and the plot could be a little smoother, more fluid, and easier to follow.

This is definitely an original take on the classic Cinderella story. Usually, it's a rags to riches theme but this one is a bit backwards. Nina, the marries Cade Sloan as a business deal to save his company and then walks away with over a million dollars (more like sneaks away like a thief in the night). Then we jump to a year later and she's got a little boutique in Italy? Greece? I'm not exactly sure. The location was a bit fuzzy to me. Cade finds her and - duh - wants his money back!
I loved what this book could have been. It could have been an adorable love story. But then you have Cade, who thinks being a caveman and essentially kidnapping Nina and keeping her as his Cinderella-esque slave is okay. Let me be clear - I did not like Cade. He was a frustrating, brutish, emotionally-detatched, spoiled little rich boy. In my (teensy bit blunt) opinion.
I liked Nina's character. I felt bad for her but I still liked her character. Her motives seemed legit to me.
The mushy stuff - This part frustrated me. I am a fan of romances where they start out hating each other and end up (after a slow and steamy build) loving each other. Or frustration to love. But this! To Cade, it only ever seems to be about the money. Who was embezzling from him? Did Nina have anything to do with it? And then there's the sexual attraction he has to her. But his attitude always gets in the way. And Nina! As much as I liked her character - she jumps to conclusions WAY TOO FAST! So many points throughout the story, if they had just communicated with each other, it could have been a sweet Cinderella story. Instead, here comes caveman locking her away and making her do chores.
Final answer - I liked this book. What I would like even more is to see a continuation where it's actually a romance.
