You Will Meet A Stranger by Lynn Florkiewicz is a heartfelt exploration of grief, healing, and unexpected connections. I really wanted to like this book - there truly is a shortage of romance books about older people finding love. Sadly, this story just didn’t pull me in. I tried for over a month to get into it, and I’m finally tapping out at 40%.

And the thing is, I’m not even sure why I didn’t enjoy the book. Maybe it’s all the descriptions about things that don’t move the storyline forward. Maybe it’s that we get several chapters in the first 30% from the heroine’s son’s point of view. Maybe it’s because in the part I read there were a lot of the heroine’s repetitive inner thoughts…

Like I said, I really had high hopes for this one. I’m sad to be calling it quits, but I also don’t want to force myself to keep reading. Life is too short to read a book you’re not enjoying a least a little bit!
