I absolutely loved this book and delighted to find out that it is part of a new series.
Sisters gather at their family home when they learn that there is financial difficulty and they all need to pull together. They are all artists and have artistic temperaments and sometimes clash and sometimes disappear into artistic bubbles.
The aunt is setting up a cookery school and it is wonderful to see the preparations for the opening and the delicious food they are preparing and the kitchen gardens which needs to be photographed for a book.
I loved the way that all their lives entwined and wondering whether they will save the house and fulfil their own working lives. I loved the setting, the food that I could picture, smell and taste alongside them. I loved everything about it!

Easy to read for a summer holiday. I felt that it finished a little abruptly but even so I enjoyed this book. Recommended.

Although the title suggests an escapist, uplifting story, it has some dark relationships and some unlikeable characters. Juliet returns to her family home for a celebration. Her family needs her to stay and help rejuvenate the ancestral family home with her artistic skills and money. Her aunt Sylvia is and has always been a positive and supportive force in her life, and it is mainly for her that Juliet agrees. Leo is the resident chef at the new country kitchen weekend courses. He is running from his past, which makes for a complex relationship with Juliet, who is also escaping her past. I liked the setting and the gradual building of trust between Juliet and Leo.

Three sisters coming together with the agenda of saving their family home. Juliet returning from London with an almost broken heart and the other two with relationship issues of their own. Their AuntSylvia with the French chef (handsome and clever) have come up with their own ideas of cookery weekends, cookery school and a cookbook to boost funds. Everyone is expected to chip in, in whatever way possible.

Romance is in the air and mishaps are on the way but it all ends well. A light hearted read with mouth watering food mentioned here and there.

I really wanted to like this book, the cover and premise were delightful - but this was a very slow read. The pacing was off and I didn't care for the 3rd person perspective. I will try another one of her books see if I like it better.

After reading and thoroughly enjoying Langdon’s Christmas w the Lords, I was looking forward to this new book. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed. The only similarities between the two are that they’re set in beautiful English country homes and both couples have awful exes. Whereas Christmas with the Lords is filled with the funny antics of a loving, eccentric family with adorable young twins and heartwarming interactions among the characters, this story is draining. Both Leo Brodeur and Juliet Carlisle have truly vicious, manipulative exes, but they allow them to continue to sow self-doubt to the point that they can’t trust their feelings for each other. The Carlisle family put the D in dysfunction, and the amount of secrecy and miscommunication is over the top. Although it’s a closed-door romance, there was no chemistry between Leo and Juliet. Juliet was exceedingly immature for a 30-year- old and quick to jump to unflattering and unfounded conclusions about Leo. I didn’t care for the third person POV, and the dialogue was often cringeworthy. Not recommended.

This book ended too soon. Leo and Juliet were such believable characters. Sylvia, Rousseau, Martha and Frankie were also a huge part of the wonderful tapestry. A truly joyous book to read!!

This book is the first in a series about 3 sisters who live in Feywood, a county house in need of repair. Juliet is the main character in this book which focuses on her return to Feywood. She returns to try to help her family to raise money to make much needed repairs. Juliet has been badly scarred by her late mother's criticism over the years and also as a result of a toxic relationship. This is a feel good book that shows Juliet learning to love herself again.

I had high expectations for "Escape to the Country Kitchen," but unfortunately, they were not met. Here’s why:

Beginning: The story started off very slowly, to the point where I had to force myself to continue reading.

Third-Person POV: The third-person point of view was executed poorly. The characters lacked distinct voices and felt flat.

Writing Style: The writing was too formal, making it difficult for me to connect with the characters and the story.

Character Relationships: The relationship between the main characters (MMC and FMC) lacked development and chemistry. They went from passive dislike to intimate moments without any build-up, making their interactions feel abrupt and unrealistic.

Story Development: Even after reading almost half the book, the story felt underdeveloped.

Ending: The ending was so abrupt that I had to re-read it multiple times, and I still didn’t understand it.

Overall, while the premise had potential, the execution fell short for me.

This book wasn't exactly what I expected. I liked it, but it felt like it was missing something for me to say that I loved it. I can see the patrons at my library really enjoying this book though, so I will recommend it for circulation.

Juliet has been called back to her family home (Feywood) along with her sisters, Frankie and Martha, their father wants help from them all in helping financially and actually running the family home which is a 200 year old house which understandably needs a lot of money spent on it. Juliet is not too pleased and neither is she taken with the French chef Leo, who will be running the cookery school, using ingredients locally sourced. There is a story behind Leo's past, when Juliet finds out what it is she's not too pleased! But who should she believe? She moves into the space which is above where Leo is working, and ultimately runs into him quite a lot. It's obviously going to be a testing
time for them both, as they both have pasts that they would rather forget about.

A lovely cosy romantic story about new beginnings and letting go of the past.
I really enjoyed reading this book and finding out about Juliet, Frankie and Martha, all sisters have their different routes in life and these three are no different. A tale of family and friends, woven together with delicious sounding food.

Juliet Carlisle, and her two sisters Frankie and Martha are challenged with helping their dad and aunt to finance the upkeep of Feywood house - a large historical manor home in the English countryside. I enjoyed the nuggets describing the location - especially the nearby forest, as well as the home and outbuildings.

Part of this plan includes the implementation of a cooking school where clients come and stay for a few days, and learn from an incredible French chef (with his own drama). Ms. Langdon did a fantastic job at creating a character you love to hate in Juliet's ex-boyfriend. I think we all know someone at least a little like him!

This definitely is the "chick flick" version of book - light, cozy, heartwarming and a quick read. And like many have mentioned, you'll be raiding the pantry for snacks while reading if you're not careful!

I adored Christmas with the Lords so when i got the opportunity to read Escape to the country kitchen i took it immediately and I'm very happy i did. It has a lovely setting with lovely characters and the most lovely descriptions of food!
i really felt for juliette and everything she went to and her story kind of resonated with me so i was really rooting for her.

A quick fun read perfect for summer reading!

At first I didn’t want to give this book a chance so I wasn’t really excited about it. But once I got into it I realized I was wrong. It was such a cute story. Juliet moves back home reluctantly but found someone worth staying for. I loved the love story in this book.

Wow this book was such a cosy, cute and romantic read, which I thoroughly enjoyed reading.

After a family meeting the three sisters are informed that they have some financial problems, and in order to keep the house going Juliet would need to return home to help. This was a huge change for Juliet due to the strained relationship she had with her deceased mother. 

However Juliet began to find her way with the help from the lovely and handsome Leo who also seemed to have afew problems of his own to overcome. 

Feywood makes for the perfect location and with its most beautiful description, it’s almost like I was trying to picture being there! It sounds absolutely devine 🩷 and it really made me feel like booking a quiet little cottage out in the country!

This is a straightforward book, without any special drama or twists. We know what's happening and are just waiting to see how the characters resolve their biggest problems. It's a slow-burn romance, though it started as enemies to lovers, it changed quickly. From the beginning of the book, it’s clear that Leo falls first. I really liked the character of Aunt Sylvia, she’s a simple, approachable, and gentle character who fits very well into the story. But unfortunately, the book didn't leave a strong impression on me. It's predictable and sweet, with moments where I just skimmed over parts that felt repetitive. I recommend this book if you’re looking for something simple and romantic, perfect for summer reading.
