This book was really fun and exciting to read and chock-full of attention grabbing fight scenes that can keep you on the edge of you seat and itching to turn to the next page.

Negative Content

The word dang is used twice, and the word heck is used three times.

A mention of a man who was guarding a woman sleeping on her couch and later offering to again, but this time she refused. (While his staying there was with good intentions and nothing bad happened, it still would have been better if he hadn't slept there or if he had requested a female cop stay with her).

Sentences with the phrase "I swear" are used three times.

It mentions a woman tossing her clothes on a bed and pulling on her swimsuit, and thinks to herself that "she had nice features and great legs, thanks to all of her running and biking. Not that she showed them off— it was also genetic. Her mom had had great legs too."

Another woman walks into the room and tells her "You have really great legs, you know that?" The first woman snorted, then laughed saying, "Yeah, I do".
Then another woman later walks in and the first woman thinks that she looked beautiful, as usual. She carried her five-foot-eight-inch height well, and the bathing suit and wrap she wore complemented her in every way possible. (From the sound of the descriptions and the talk about legs, it didn't sound like they decently covered.)

A mention of a woman wearing faded jeans with "fashionable holes in the knees."

Someone says they worked their tail off.

-Trigger warnings-

It mentions someone hearing a sharp crack echo, and then a bad guy jerks, and it mentions blood flows from the wound in his forehead.

A mention of a young woman being accused of having tried to kill herself (she did not, but someone attempts to gaslight her into believing she did.)

-Typos-

It mentions a man saying that he saw a vehicle, and then later it mentions the man who was looking into it seeing what caught a different man's eye.

In conclusion, this book was exciting and highly enjoyable and a pleasure to read.
If I had to say what things lowered the rating the most, they would be (1) the use of the words heck ×3 and dang ×2, the mention of the man guarding the woman sleeping on her couch, and the mentions of the women in bathing suits.

I received a complimentary e-book from Revell through Netgalley to review. I was not required to give a positive review, and the thoughts above are my own.

From the opening lines, this book is one twist and chase after another. I enjoyed the past/present chapters. It added layers to the story that made it even more interesting. The romance is very light in this one. I look forward to the next in the series!

I liked this story of a swat team and how they worked. One member, a female doctor and medic for the team had some issues with resentment because she was chosen over some men for the position on the team. She also ended up being stalked. Read the book and find out what happened! I was given this book for the purpose of reviewing.

Target Acquired is the second book in the Lake City Heroes series and the momentum was top notch. Target Acquired is Kenzie and Cole’s phenomenal story. I was hooked from the beginning and couldn’t put it down. Action and story were a great balance. Pick it up for your summer reads. Lynette never disappoints.

I received an advanced readers copy from the author and Netgalley. Opinions are my own.

This is an excellent read! Suspense, mystery, cold case, and of course romance. I really loved this story!
Action will keep you turning the pages.
I did make some connections to who the bad guys were before the end but it will keep you guessing.

Here's the second book of the series and action packed as always.

Kenzie King worked hard and qualified to earn her spot as SWAT medic, the first woman on the team. There's obvious disdain among some of the team about her presence, which she's worked hard to filter through and earn their trust. Her team leader, Cole, was best friends with her brother growing up. She'll confess having a childhood crush, but his cool, indifference reminds her there's nothing more. When it looks like the team is being targeted, with individual attacks and ambushes, the divisions among the team come to a breaking point.

Kenzie's character has always had to prove herself, refusing help from others so she's not seen as weak. (I think we many of us relate to that) And another theme is on recovering from past hurts and not allowing them to define our identity and who we are.

For all you who enjoy Christian suspense, add this to your TBR!

A thrilling ride from start to finish!

Loved the story, characters were very engaging, and some good red herring moments.

Eager for the next book!

I received an advance copy from the publisher. My review was not solicited and I stand by my opinion.

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

When reading some reviews one said this book would leave you breathless and I couldn’t agree with that assessment more. Hold on because someone wants Kenzie dead and Cole will have his hands full trying to keep her alive.

Lots of twists and turns, mystery and a lovely romance are all entwined in this great Christian romantic suspense.

"And just like that, his whole “I’m not trusting my heart to anyone ever again” vow scattered like ashes. Because he was falling for her."
And had been for a while now."

This book was EPIC!!!

Target Acquired is the second book in the Lake City Heroes series, and this book features SWAT team medic Kenzie King and Detective Cole Garrison as the main characters.

It's a great suspense read packed with tons of action, clean humor, and a plot that kept me on the edge of my seat to the last page.

There were only a couple minor words used that I don't use but don't consider to be a big deal (heck and dang used twice each).

The romance was sweet, clean, realistic and spice free which I seriously appreciate!

I really liked how it was paced too, slow burn and sincere instead of the cringy insta-love a lot of books feature but I don't personally care for.

Y'all, this was a read I loved, and I absolutely recommend! I plan to pick up a paperback copy for my suspense shelf as soon as I can.

Thank you to Revell Books for the complimentary e-book I received to review through Netgalley as part of the author's launch team. I was not required to write a positive review, and the thoughts above are my own.

Kenzie has joined SWAT as a Medic but not everyone is happy about that. When someone targets and tries to kill her Cole steps in to watch over her. There was also another story set in the past that had links to the present. I enjoyed this second book in the Lake City Hero’s series. And look for to the next one.

Once again Lynette Eason gave me a story that kept me page turning for answers. Christian Suspense at its finest!

This time, and yes it is the second book in this series, but can be read alone, we are given a woman Kenzie King, very bright young woman, whom is a on a SWAT team, but also a doctor.

We are given a bit of sweet romance, but that is not the main focus of this story, but Cole, her boss, is sure there for her during the many attempts on her life.

My focus was on one, and then another as the culprit, it took me to almost the end to discover the real perpetrator, and wow do the secrets fall. There is a side story here, and that was a riveting as the main read, and could have been a book by itself!

Now I'm looking forward to the next book in this series!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

Target Acquired by Lynette Eason is a fantastic romantic. Eason at her best. I throughly enjoyed the fast paced plot and the well developed characters. I received an advance ebook from the publisher and Netgalley. This is my unbiased review.

I’ve been reading books by Lynette Eason for many years and have learned not to start one of her books, if you need to get a good sleep. Nearly impossible to put down.
Kenzie King. MD is chosen to fill a position on the SWAT team as a tactical medic. Most of the all-male SWAT team welcomes her, however, there is one disgruntled member believing his friend should have been given the job. He is very verbal about his dislike of Kenzie. Although the rest of the team is supportive of her, Kenzie is suddenly a target, having her house broken into, shot at, sliced with a knife, hit on the head as well as other attempts on her life.
Cole, the supervisor of the SWAT team, attempts to protect Kenzie, however, it takes more than just him to keep her safe. There is also a growing, unspoken attraction between the two that both ignore. The team bans together to protect Kenzie, and to catch the perpetrator, however, several of them get in the crosshairs and end up with a gunshot wound themselves.
There are several chapters that take the reader back to the 1940s when mental hospitals were overcrowded and experimental treatment was being used unnecessarily on healthy patients, who also often found themselves behind a locked door. Through an old diary of her grandmother’s, Kenzie discovers some secrets that have been safely kept for many years concerning her family as well as Cole’s.
This is a compelling, fascinating story, with likable, relatable characters, that kept me reading until the last page was turned.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions and comments are my own.

This was Book 2 of the Lake City Heroes series. I’ve been waiting since Book 1 for Cole and Kenzie’s story. Someone is trying to kill Kenzie and Cole is there to help her figure out who.

Well done, Lynette.

This is another great story from this author. The characters are relatable and the action is easy to track. I like how this author writes reality. She doesn't over exaggerate scenes to where they become unbelievable. The only problem I had with the book was the number of characters. She does provide a list of characters at the beginning, which was helpful. Perhaps if I was able to sit down and read it straight through, it would not have been so confusing for me. It's still another great book.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARK for an honest review.

Target Acquired, book 2 in the Lake City Heroes series, drew me straight in from the start. Kenzie has to deal with the reality of being a female medic on a SWAT team and tries to prove she deserved the position, but not everyone is thrilled that she's part of the team. Someone is trying to kill Kenzie, but who and why?
I enjoyed the chemistry between Cole and Kenzie and the cold case they are looking into while finding out the villain is. This novel alternates between the past and present, and what happened in the past has ties to the present. Eason crafted a wonderful novel with suspense, romance, tension, and danger. This novel will leave you guessing who the villian is.

LOVED this book! Lynette Eason is always one of my favorites for suspense, but this one had me hanging on to the end. Kenzie and Cole have a shared history but things heat up between the two of them as they work to figure out who is killing members of their team one by one. Is Kenzie the main target or all of them? Highly recommended.

Kenzie has fulfilled her dream of joining the S.W.A.T. team as a medic, but some of the team is not so sure having a woman teammate is a good idea. Soon it appears that someone is trying to kill her. Will prayers and teamwork get her through?
