This book was not bad but I do think that I need to read the other books in the series in order to understand it better and then decide if I like this one or not. I did feel like some events seem to drag a little bit. I liked the concept of the story and as a Texan myself, I really enjoyed that aspect. The cover is really nice, it is what initially caught my attention. I did find it weird/annoying that Sam wanted Jack but then Ritz and then in the ended it was Jack again. I also think that it was very confusing in the way it changed POVs but it never stated to whom, so you kinda had to guess. This story started strong but I was very disappointed in the ending, it was kinda abrupt.

I might end up reading this in the future as well as the other books in the series so my review might change.

Thank you to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for this e-ARC.
