I absolutely loved this book. We meet Clare and Sandy and their son Mickey. Avril and Stuart and their daughter Bethany. And Lily and Eric and their daughter Poppy. I loved the multiple points of views. It definitely made the story very interesting. Avril knows it’s time for a fresh start so they decide to move to Westford Park, a gated community with 24 hour security. All these families moved here because it’s a really safe place to live… or is it? Sandy is always on edge, wondering if her ex will show up. There are so many twists and turns! Things in the community seem to be going well.. until they no longer are. Strange things keep happening. Can they all trust each other? I was truly shocked by the ending. I had an idea in my head of how it may end but it ended a completely different way. There was so much suspense in this book. I loved the friendship between the kids, they really seemed to have each other’s backs. I really didn’t want the book to end. I would love it if there was a second one.
Thank you so much NetGalley, Natasha and Boldwood Books for the ARC!
A Tangled Web..
What a tangled web they weave - in this contemporary suspense with a dark edge. Three families, a gated community, a missing girl and neighbours with more secrets than you can shake a stick at. With a deft combination of tension and mystery, an intriguing tale is woven. Compelling and immersive with a well crafted cast of characters and a propulsive plot littered with twists.
A thrilling, captivating story. A slow burn but once you get into it. It becomes a fast read. Lots of twists which I love. And it's a definite recommend.
Thanks publisher and netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own and isn't influenced by anyone else
Thanks to NetGalley for this arc. This was kinda hard for me to follow with all the characters names introduced. There are 3 families that move into a luxurious community that’s safe with big houses and the 3 mothers become fast friends Avril, Lily and Sandy with their teenagers all getting to know each other too. We get to know each of the women and their families one by one but to me Sandy’s past comes up and we get to know her backstory a lot with her ex. Bethany, Avril’s daughter got expelled from her other school and is now Lily has assumptions about Bethany being bad and possibly could harm her daughter Poppy and also Sandy’s son, Mikey since they are the group of friends. 40% through or around that, that’s when mysterious things start to happen to the teenagers and little by little the secrets that are supposed to be tight lipped slip out and unfold with events happening and tensions get higher as time goes on. At the 70% there’s another twist but the whole story was just lacking some things I was hoping for. Overall I had some fun while I was reading it but it’s very forgettable.
This is a quick-read thriller. Suburban life, dynamic relationships, multiple twists. I wasn't completely taken by the book as it took a while to get into the characters and the beginning could've skipped over some details of the day-to-day life.
Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for access to this eARC.
3.5* rounded up. This was a new to me author and I'll definitely take a look at some of her other books.
There was a lot to like about this book.. I enjoyed the characters and the multiple POV allowed you to step into each family and live the cover-up of picture perfect lives.
Part of the book moved a little slow for me but the last couple twists definitely made it worth sticking around!! 😲
Thanks to Netgalley and Boldwood Books for the eARC of this book.
The Perfect Home
by Natasha Boydell
Pub Date: Jun 21 2024
This is my first thriller to read by author Natasha Boydell and I must say, it did keep me reading.
The story follows three families who have moved into a posh but affordable new gated community complete with a clubhouse. The community is advertised as the safest place to raise a family with round-the-clock security and fenced perimeter. Avril and her family need a fresh start. Her daughter Bethany was accused of something terrible and was expelled from her last school. It ruined the entire family's lives. Sandy and her family also moved in to run from their past and hopefully be safe once and for all. Lily and her family are the only ones not running from something, but all closets have skeletons. The three ladies become fast friends and so do their teens. Their new neighborhood and neighbors are a dream...until bloodcurdling screams start happening in the night, the tennis courts get vandalized, and then even worse, Lily's daughter Poppy disappears.
It's a slow build that allows the reader to get to know each of the characters, and then the reveal is spot on. There might even be a few twists you didn't see coming. 😁

Westford Park is a new residential community boasting security, luxury and community.
Three families move in and the teenagers are quick friends: Poppy, Bethany and Micky. Their moms also quickly form a bond – Lily, Avril and Sandy.
But, the beautiful, peaceful community is a just a façade. Especially when all those that are living there are hiding secret.
Then when one of the teenagers goes missing, and it could be any of their fears come true that that have caused it.
Ah, so good. A slow burn, but once it gets going you won’t be able to put it down. And that twist – wow – so good! RECOMMEND
Totally enjoyed this one and my second book by @natashaboydell.
Also enjoyed The Fortune Teller by this author.
Thank you #NetGalley for the complimentary copy of #ThePerfectHome in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
The Perfect home follows 3 ladies (Lily, Avril and Sandy). They all move to a new housing development that seems like perfection. The ladies get to know one another and become best friends. Their children (Bethany, Poppy and Micky) also become best friends. I love the character development in the book. You really got to know everyone and their backstory. I felt like the book was a little slower paced than like in a thriller book. I would try this author again though.
The Perfect Home by Natasha Boydell is a gripping psychological thriller that is quite twisty. Each character has secrets and shows what they will do to keep those secrets. I enjoyed getting to know Avril, Lily, and Sandy and their families and how their lives will explode!
The story was told from different perspectives, so you were immersed in each character’s storyline. The story was gripping and had me wondering what would happen and why.
The story was page-turning and had good suspense, and the ending was done well.
I would recommend this book and will check out the other book by this author.

I really enjoyed this book! I was gripped from the beginning, and I couldn't wait to read the whole thing. The storyline kept me interested throughout the entire book, and I thought the ending was fantastic! I would definitely recommend!
The Perfect Home was the perfect weekend read. I like books about neighborhoods with secrets and this book delivered. The book gives the POV of three women/mothers in the neighborhood. The characters are interesting and have plausible backstories that inform their current behaviors. The author does a great job of describing this affluent neighborhood. I felt like I was immersed in all the drama.
Thanks for the advance review copy.
these Authors books are so addictive. this is a story about a closed nit community houses where it is safe each family members are all getting away from something or someone. they want to be safe. the women all start to form a bond and their children all become friends. until something happens and the strange noises at night. ones to repair her marriage and one puts on they are happily married, and one woman is scared. how this story plays out is just brilliant so recommend an addictive and twisty read '
The Perfect Home was an automatic read for me since I loved The Fortune teller so much. The perfect home kept me on the edge of my seat and I finished within 2 days.
It took some time to get into this book with a slow build up, but when I did it was an enjoyable read. So much going on, so many questions and so much that just isn’t right in what should be a perfect home! I ended up feeling so connected to several of the characters, although I couldn’t quite get there with Lily. My first book by this author and definitely one I will look for in future. I actually struggled to read this at some points, because … it was scary!!! high praise for a thriller. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this version
The Perfect Home is an intriguing, gripping psychological thriller that follows three women who move into a new housing estate with the goal of a fresh start. Avril, Lily, and Sandy all have their own reasons for needing to move to this new neighborhood and all are hoping for a new and positive experience. They soon become close friends and all of their hopes and wishes are becoming reality. All of their secrets and past traumas can hopefully be left behind. Then, things start to go horribly wrong. The past is quickly catching up to each of the women. Who is in the most danger? Will sharing their secrets save them as a group?
The Perfect Home is fast-paced and well-written. I loved how each chapter flowed into the next, which can be hard to accomplish with three POVs. The main characters were all well-developed; I truly felt that I got to know each of them and understood their decisions and challenges. For over 75 percent of the book, I had been planning to give it 5 stars. Then, I came to the ending. First, I thought the conclusion was rushed. Second, I didn't like how important the children's actions and decisions had on the entire plot. If they were going to be such a huge part of the ultimate mystery, I'd have liked some (not a lot) chapters from their POVs. Bethany was the only well-developed side character; the others were simply there until the reader realized that they were actually important. Finally, the ending just wasn't overly satisfying. I was left wanting more.
This was a story about 3 women and their families who move into a nice gated community. They all have secrets and complicated things they are struggling with, searching for a safe place to raise their kids. All 3 have teens become friends, just as the 3 women do. Throughout the story secrets will be revealed, relationships are tested and one teen will go missing. It was a good that that kept me interested.
Thanks to netgalley for this eArc for my review
The Perfect Home is an action packed psychological thriller that had me hooked from page one. Daily life is told from the different perspectives of three women who have moved into a luxury home community, nestled away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There’s a lake, private tennis, a clubhouse, and security - the perfect place for a fresh start. Each woman has their own reasons for moving into the prestigious new homes, and they keep those reasons a secret as they build on their new found friendships. As the women have grown closer, so have their kids. Friendships are tested, secrets come out, and they learn they aren’t as safe as they thought they were in their idyllic community. The authors story telling was well detailed and the characters were intriguing. Add this to your TBR list!
Three families move into this gated community to start over and be protected from shadows of the past. Their kids start to band together. Poppy ends up missing. Bethany was suspended for bullying. Is she behind poppy’s disappearance? Why were all the kids in the boat house one night? What is this hidden fort in the woods? What exactly are all these people hiding? And what are they planning? Secrets revealed that I did not see coming. Pretty good thriller.
The perfect community attracts the perfect families, except that all of them are hiding dark secrets. As three of the women, and their teenagers, deepen their friendships, the secrets begin to be shared. When one of the teenagers goes missing, even more secrets and darkness are revealed. Will Poppy be found? And will their lives ever be the same?
I will give this book 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 because it is well written. Part of me wanted to know that everyone turned out fine and part of me wanted to hurry up and finish the book so that I could get out of these people's messed up lives. Perpetrating deception upon deception leads lots of places, but none of them are good and no one emerges unscathed, including the reader.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC. All opinions are my own.
