Accidentally in Love with my Best Friend's Brother checks off all the things you want in a cute romance. It was a fun book to read and I would recommend it to my older students/young adults as well as my friends.
Thank you netgalley for an arc of Accidentally in Love with my Nest Friend's Brother by Abby Greyson
I loved this book by Abby Greyson! Some of my favorite tropes all in one book. If you like dual POV, fake dating, best friend’s brother, and a sweet romance-this book is worth a read!
Brianne (Brie) moved in with her Aunt and Uncle after her parents died. The only thing that got her through this hard time was her best friend, Susie and her brother Josh. Throughout the years Brie and Josh have falling into a sibling like teasing relationship bickering and poking fun at one another. Under all the teasing and jokes, there appears to be much flirtation and affection- of course it’s apparent to everyone except Josh and Brie.
Fast forward nine years, Josh is now a big time NFL player at risk of losing a contract renewal with his current team. His agent suggests the idea of “fake dating” and convinces Josh to ask Brie to “date”. Brie agrees to enter the muddy waters of fake dating in order to help show a softer side of Josh, a side they hope will convince his team to resign. Of course Josh and Brie continue to be the last to realize they have feelings for one another.
Question is will Josh and Brie finally realize their true feelings towards each other??
Tea time was such a great addition. The gossip reports were hilarious!
*I received an ARC from Netgalley, the author and BookSprout in exchange for an honest review*
Accidentally in Love was a quick, closed-door read. I enjoyed the dynamic of the main characters, but it felt a little half-baked. It might be because it was ARC, but it was a little hard to read scenes involving texts that have descriptions of emojis.
If you're looking for a book that's got both big time sports star/hometown feels, this might be a book for you.

I love a cute fake dating story and this one hit the nail head on!
A sweet rom-com with so many elements that made my heart sing! I truly enjoyed this quick and easy read. Recommended for YA romance stans and everyone who's swooned when they see a picture of Joe Burrow.
Fake dating my best friend big brother seems easy enough. But Josh has been a constant in my life since my parents death. Can I risk my heart and lose the peoole that mean the most to me? Brie and Josh's love story is sweet and heartwarming
Thank you for the ARC! I loved this book as I am truly a sucker for romance novels! The plot and character descriptions had me hooked from the beginning and I can’t wait to read more by this author! Will definitely recommend as it is such a sweet read.
I received a complimentary copy of this book via Netgalley. Opinions expressed in this review are my purely my own.
.
Cute YA rom-com. It's the classic sibling's best friend story (although I think we were reminded of this a bit too much in the first few chapters) that is a perfect relaxing read.

In this cute, sports romance, we are witnessing josh and brie's story. From when they were kids to where they are now, this shorter story is quick and so cute! There's many fan favourite tropes, such as fake dating, and brothers best friend. Overall this book was nothing special in my opinion. It was a nice quick pallet cleanser, but I sadly didn't really connect with the characters. All of this said it was still entertaining although I don't think you will miss anything if you let this one slide!
3 Stars.
🏈 The vibes:
- dual pov
- Football
- Closed door
- Best friend’s brother
- Sweet romance
- Quick read
🏈 My thoughts:
This was a really quick romcom. I thought Josh and Brie were very sweet together. It very much reminded me of the Cheat Sheet. There were moments where I did feel like the characters were in high school rather than adults. The element of the Gossip Girl type gossip site added to that young feel; and the characters across the board felt a bit young for their age/careers but it was still a cute romance overall.
🏈 I liked Josh and Brie and their characters had a lot of elements that I enjoyed, but I just wished to see a little bit more depth with both of them and their relationship together.
🏈 One element that I couldn’t quite connect with was Josh being a “bad boy” and Brie being a “good girl”. It was expressed a lot that these are the roles of the characters, but I don’t exactly understand why. More so with Brie than Josh - as we did hear that he had a temper on the field but otherwise he seemed like a super chill happy go lucky dude, so I didn’t get the impression of him having a bad reputation. Not a huge deal, it just didn’t fit his overall vibe for me.
🏈 If you’re looking for a sweet, closed door rom com with a friends to lovers feeling in the setting of a drama, gossipy town- you might enjoy this one!

This was a cute book and an easy read. I liked the characters and the plot. It's just a cute book. I could see myself reading it on the beach somewhere. I would recommend it to anyone just starting in the category or even an older teenager.
If you are looking for a closed door fake dating sports romance. Than this book is for you! The banter was good! And the romance was very well written. I would highly recommend reading this book!
Accidentally in Love with my Best Friend's Brother is a football-themed RomCom that captures the hilarity and heart of fake relationships turned real. Brie finds herself entangled in a media scandal with Josh, the NFL's top receiver and her best friend's notorious brother. Their relationship, initially based on a mutual need for damage control, slowly peels away to reveal genuine affection and chemistry. What I truly loved about this book was its delightful blend of sweet romance and comedic moments, all while exploring themes of vulnerability and personal growth. It’s a feel-good story that proves love can be found in the most unexpected places.
I really liked this book, it's a cute sports romance between the FMC and her best friends brother. I love the fake dating trope and I thought this was done well. I enjoyed the story and really liked the MC's, especially the MMC, Josh. I liked the aspect of the gossip column, it kind of gave gossip girl vibes but a lot nicer, and only about the main characters love life.
I would definitely recommend this book to others especially if you are looking for a nice, easy read but it read a little YA for me and I didn't really connect with the characters. It would be a good read for anyone who is getting into reading but it was very sweet!
I just want to say thank you to netgalley and the author for this ARC.
This is the epitome of cheesy romcom but i absolutely adored it. This was so so incredibly sweet and precious.
Ever wondered if a bad boy could be your knight in shining armor? 🏈💖 Accidentally in Love with my Best Friend's Brother turns a tabloid scandal into a touchdown of hearts! Josh, the NFL bad boy, and Brie, the girl next door, fake it 'til they make it—and oh boy, do they make it! Their fake kisses start feeling darn real, and I was here for every juicy moment. If you're up for a swoon-worthy read that keeps the steam sweet and the laughs loud, this book needs to be your next pick. Trust me, it’s as fun as a touchdown dance at the Super Bowl! 🎉📚"
Fun, fun, fun! I enjoyed this story. It was heartfelt, predictable, and cute. Perfect filler between heavier content books. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.
