A simple but beautiful picture book with gorgeous pictures and a heart-warming message. Smriti Halls always makes me consider what's really important in life and captures the heart and beauty of precious emotions in her words.

How lovely - a parent's love letter to their children.

A poetic and magical affirming picture book, with a parent telling their younglings how amazing they are - parts of their family yet their own unique selves.

Will make listeners smile at the love bathing them in wonderous descriptions.

Two children here, a world of colour and scenes, and one parents will probably read with a lump in their throats.

For parents really, with listeners aged 2-6.

With thanks to Netgalley for providing a sample reading copy.

What a gorgeous book with such a fabulous message 💕

This is a beautiful, rhythmic text, stunningly illustrated by Chaaya Prabhat. It lists all the wonderful things that make a person who they are, some traits from parents, some experiences, and some linked to places.

My favourite part is . . .
You’re not quarter... or half a mathematical sum ...
You’re entirely yourself and second to none.

Such a beautiful message and a way to celebrate every child’s uniqueness, especially our multi-heritage children.

Definitely one for our pre-prep library, and our class libraries too! Publication date is Thursday 27th June so get pre-ordering!

Wow what a beautiful children's book! This holds some of the prettiest artwork I have seen which have been drawn by Chaaya Prabhat. This book provides a lovely message about heritage and the uniqueness of each person and child, lovely!

A poetic prose coupled with serene and cute pictures about being - yes, simply being, being your authentic self, being and accepting who you are, and recognising your worth, uniqueness as well as everyone else’s.

A great book for everyone; it is not too abstract, and is very engaging for younger humans.
It is a reminder and a meditative piece for older humans.

It is inclusive, covers one’s heritage and other features and parameters in life that make one who they are. A life-affirming, appreciative book. We loved it.

This is a beautiful book about what we, as children, take from our parents, grandparents, and surroundings as we grow. The illustrations, by Chaaya Prabhat are full of bright vibrant colours which link seamlessly with the author Smriti Halls' experiences of raising her own children to embrace their British and Indian heritage.

Although I very much enjoyed reading this I wish there was a way the author could have included adopted children. They may not look like their parents but the remainder of the personal qualities can come from your upbringing, and a mention would have added to its inclusivity. This is however a cheerfully and positively written book throughout and is wonderful to read aloud.

I was able to read an advanced copy of this thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, Macmillan Children's Books, but the opinions expressed are my own. I enjoyed this very much and it would be a great addition to any child's bookshelf or class library.
