Fated
Sarah Ready

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This is the third book in the Ghosted series and the third that I've read over the past year.
You may remember, from my previous reviews, that I've had them all on audio book and that my son (who doesn't read!) has also become obsessed with listening to them with me.
Obviously he's around for some bits of most of my audios - but this series is the only one he's insisted that we listen together - which is amazing!!
The only downside - it takes me so much longer to get through them than if I was listening in my own time!!

So, this one actually took me a little while to fully get into - but I'm pretty certain that this is because we started listening at exam time and so had very small slots at the start with.
Now we've had bigger chunks, we, as ever, were completely immersed in both Fiona's real life and her dream life.

This book was set before Ghosted and so we get to revisit Daniel's character - but we see his life before, in Geneva, with his sister Fiona.
It was great to have a bit more background on him and it introduced Fiona and the business nicely.

Fiona's story centres around horology and the family heirloom that comes into her life.
Having read the blurb - this is pretty much all I'm willing to say about the storyline because there's, as ever, so much going on here that I couldn't do it justice without major spoilers being spilled.
This was another crazy ride though and one that you really need to read to fully appreciate!

We are in agreement though that there was a little less humour in this book than the other 2. This was much more a beautiful love story and emotional rollercoaster and the ending was just perfection!
Fiona was completely dedicated to her work at Abry and as such was a much more serious and thoughtful character.
This married up the writing style with Fiona's personality perfectly.

We follow Fiona's life at work, with her daughter and her friendship with Max and this storyline runs alongside the dream storyline, both woven together perfectly to enhance and progress the plot as a whole, until close to the end when the two start to pull together.
Such a clever plot overall - brilliantly executed and beautifully written.

We were, once again, blown away and I'm so excited to have spotted that there's going to be a fourth book in the series - we cannot wait to get hold of this and listen together again!

💕Thank you to the author and NetGalley for my ARC copy - this is my honest review 💕

I did enjoy the concept of Fated, the third book in the Ghosted series and there were parts of the book that I loved such as the concept of a workaholic businesswoman by day, living out her own personal fantasies in dreams that resembled a day time soap opera by night, complete with a carefree lifestyle that seemed something her hippy mother would approve of . But there were other parts…… well not so much. I felt the story dragged a bit but the main thing with Fated was I just didn’t like the characters. Fiona seemed quite cold and closed off and I felt she’d kept poor Max dangling on a string and in dreamland Aaron…...well he came across as weak and a bit of a wimp. On the whole I struggled to finish this book but finish it I did and thats only because I initially felt the same way about the two previous books in this series but eventually enjoyed them both and I hoped that Fated would be the same.

Fated by Sarah Ready is the 3rd book in the Ghosted series. Once again, we have some romance mixed with magical realism or fantasy. I greatly enjoyed the first two books, but Fated was a slower read for me in part because the events in this book happen before the other two books.. The structure of this one also slowed the pace, and I honestly felt like we could have lost at least 50 pages. Ultimately, we do get the happy ending, and I enjoyed that part of the story.

I’ve loved all the books in this series so much! Fated was every bit as enthralling as switched and ghosted. I love the way Sarah writes these tipsy-turvy worlds. Her characters have incredible connection and are so relatable. I just adore the way her mind works.

Fated is Ghosted Series book 3 by Sarah Ready. Sharing some characters with the first book in the series, Ghosted, this novel has taken the threads and ideas of the storyline to new heights.

Fiona Abry, one of the two heirs to the Abry Watch Company in Geneva, Switzerland, is a single mother to young Mila, devoted sister to Daniel, and solitary soul keeping to herself. Literally dropped off at the family chateau by her mother Buttercup to stay with the father she didn’t know as a 6 year old, she has spent a lifetime protecting her heart except for when she willingly gave it away to an unworthy bigamist resulting in her treasured daughter. Now Fiona handled the business side of the watch company while Daniel is the face of the company and involved in marketing.

After a harrowing Christmas Eve incident, Fiona is visited by Buttercup, who gives her an antique pocket watch with an outrageous mythology stating that you would dream your heart’s desire when holding the watch. As a lark Fiona does this, albeit she may have simply fallen asleep with it in her hand. After the first night Fiona is drawn into a dreamworld that captures her imagination as well as her heart. For night after night she is in the form of Becca on a small Caribbean island, wife of record holding long distance swimmer Aaron McCormick, and mother of teenaged Amy and toddler Sean. But it doesn’t seem like a happy marriage. That is until Fiona makes the effort to turn it around. But the biggest turn around is when Fiona takes what she learns to turn around tragedy.

This is truly one of the best stories I’ve ever been immersed in. Fantasy spun with reality to create a story that sticks with the reader. Great characters, perfectly described settings, and a plot spun out of hope and love makes this a book to recommend, and I wholeheartedly do recommend it!

A magic pocket watch transports Fiona Abry to a tropical island. The inhabitants are truly off the grid and one of them is Aaron McCormick - the man of her dreams. Too bad she is inhabiting the body of his wife Becca (Quantum Leap anyone?). The two share an instant soulmate connection, but what a conundrum. Aaron is only in her dreams. In real life, her best friend Max is lobbying for a new role as her Numero Uno. Life is complicated! I loved the family connections in this one with Fiona's having a daughter named Mila and the two kids on the island -- teenager Amy and toddler Sean. Also Aaron's claim to fame was unique and fit him so well! And the watch business is quite fascinating. The special edition watch that Fiona designs sounds like a showstopper! While I felt this one got bogged down a bit in the middle --and for awhile it seems like the dream world will stay there for good. Hang on, though, as there is an epic finish to this one. For me, this was my favorite yet in the "Ghosted" series. Looking forward to Book #4! ⌚

A big thank you to Swift & Lewis Publishing, LLC for both a digital and audio copy in exchange for an honest review. Happy publication week!

Amazing third installation in the series. Fiona (Daniel's sister from Ghosted- Book 1) is gifted a family heirloom. A watch that will show you what your heart desires via dreams. Her dream land is the total opposite of her reality and she begins to love it and also fall for the man in her dreams. But the only problem is, it's a dream.

I really liked this book so much, it definitely tugged at my heart. While part of a series it can definitely be read as a standalone.

Thank you so much NetGalley for this ARC.

I’ve read all the books in this series so far and I’ve loved them all. Fated was no exception. I thoroughly enjoyed this book that had me on the edge of my seat throughout I figured out the big twist very early on because it was kind of obvious but the other one. Yeah, I didn’t see that coming at all. And it gutted me even though I know how the book ends. I loved Fiona and Aaron. I also loved Amy, Sean, and Mila. I also loved seeing Daniel as he was before he met Jillian. This book was an emotional rollercoaster and I’m glad I got to read it.

Out of all the books in this series, Fated is my favorite so far!
But, don’t worry cause you can enjoy this book as a standalone just fine without reading the previous ones!

Fated is a well-written story about love, hope, dreams, family and friendship.
This story is such an emotional roller coaster ride – I laughed, almost cried and smiled all the way through reading this book.

The plot was fascinating and I find myself wondering how Fiona and Aaron is going to meet up in the real world!
Turns out it’s not just some easy and predictable storyline, there are times I find myself at the edge of my seat wondering if everyone will got their happy ending...

I feel very satisfied with the ending, albeit a little sad for one of the characters but good news is the next book is gonna be about him and I can’t wait to read his happy ending cause honestly he really deserved it!

Overall, it’s such a page turner, my eyes are glued to my kindle that I finished it in just one day!
I’m looking forward to read the next book – Wished soon!

Fated is Sarah Ready’s sequel to her popular paranormal romantic comedies, Ghosted and Switched. The heroine of Fated, Fiona Abry, was introduced in Ghosted as Daniel’s sister. Fated can be read as a stand-alone but it will be enjoyed more if read after Ghosted.

Fiona Abry is a busy single mother, running her family’s Swiss watch company with her brother, Daniel. Her life changes when she’s given a family heirloom rumored to let you dream your greatest desire. Suddenly, she is spending her nights on a tiny tropical island in a completely different life. In her dream life she’s married to Aaron McCormick and has two kids, living in a colorful cottage on the beach. Fiona has to figure out how to make her dream relationship with Aaron become reality, and it involves time-travel.

Fated is a romantic fantasy that involves time travel. The story is really gripping and will make readers laugh, cry, and hold their breath as they wait on Fiona and Aaron to figure things out. The author explains everything by the end of the story, so the reader isn’t left handing. Fated is an incredible and unpredictable story; readers need to plan a weekend of uninterrupted time to devour this book. I can’t wait to read Max’s story next!

I received an Advance Review Copy (ARC) from NetGalley and Swift & Lewis Publishing for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I enjoyed this book, once I got into it. I enjoyed the twist at the end very much. I don't know why the story didn't grip me as much as I wanted it to, the writing is descriptive and easy to follow and the characters are lovable. I just had a hard time getting into it, hence the three and a half stars. I'd recommend this as a cute romance with a little magic in it.

4⭐ - This was such a good book, I was hooked from the start. 🤩 Sure, there's a bit of a filler/dip in the middle of the story but the pace picked up towards the end.

I really loved the story of Becca and Aaron and was rooting for them towards the end, I wasn't familiar with the time travel type of romance but it did not disappoint.

4⭐, 1.75 🌶️

I love this series by Sarah! Book one as just sooo amazingly different, that when I wasn’t super invested in book two, I was still interested enough to read this book! And thank goodness I did because WOW! The first 50% of the book was a tad boring to me, but once we got to the more romantic storyline and ALLL of the answers are answered in the end of the book, I was just blinking into the abyss because there was so much to process. Sarah’s inventive mind is just so impressive to me, and I’m just amazed with the rollercoaster we had for the last 15% of this book. I laughed, cried, and screamed at time.

Review:
WHAT A STUNNING READ!

‘Fated’ by Sarah Ready is an emotional rollercoaster. I’m grateful that I was approved for both the ARC and ALC because it made the reading experience so worthwhile.

This book had me laughing, crying, and screaming! It's a sweet romance with a deeper message about love, trust, and self-acceptance. The characters are beautifully crafted, even the ones you love to hate, making you feel a mix of emotions towards them.

The love story is unique and beautiful, with unexpected plot twists and a dreamy MMC- McCormick. The FMC-Fiona, is a strong, independent single mom who meets the man of her dreams in her dreams! I loved how she got to know herself better in both the real and dream worlds.

The plot is creatively unique, drawing you in and making you fall in love with the story. I've enjoyed the entire series so far, with each book featuring a unique type of magical realism. This one, however, hit me in the heart and made me feel like I was living the story—like I was Fiona!

I loved the appearances from Daniel, the main character from the first book, ‘Ghosted’, and I’m excited to see Max get his own story in ‘Wished’.

This book exceeded my expectations and left me wanting more. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking to read a sweet and emotional romance!

You did it again!!!!! Thank you so much for this ARC!

“I’m in love with a dream, with a man who isn’t real, and there is no coming back from it.”

Tell me you didn’t feel something from that? It doesn’t matter good or bad you felt something. That’s how I feel about Sarah’s writing! I love how she can take “the man of your dreams” and make him real. I have enjoyed this whole series and I really love Fiona and Aaron. The challenges that arise, oof and how they are handled, again oof. I highly recommend this book though!

This book was SO good! I was hooked from the get go and immediately devoured the story. I needed to understand what happened. May have stayed up until 2am to finish and GASPED out loud in the last 20% . This was my first foray into a more paranormal/timetravel/sci-fi type romance novel and it definitely did not disappoint.

I have loved the other books in this series and this one is no exception. Sarah Ready knows how to break my heart and put it back together. A family heirloom is gifted to Fiona Abry, a world-renowned watchmaker, it has a legend that it lets you dream the thing your heart wants most. Fiona's life is already full of work, her daughter, her friend Max, and her brother. What more could she want, other than love? I adored the difference between the island and Geneva. I could feel the sun burning my retinas and the thick humid sea air whenever Fiona returned. The roller coaster between Robert, Becca, and McCormick was almost tragic. The anticipation of Fiona's return trips always had me so hopeful. It's a great read, it kept me guessing and broke my heart a little, but it was also so full of hope and love, and of course an HEA that makes the journey worth it.

Oh my goodness! I adored this book and story. How on earth do Sarah's books just keep getting better.

I love stories like this where we know it could never happen but you are left with a what if? feeling. Laugh out loud and also very touching

Highly recommend!
