Zach has always fascinated Daisy, but he's always been off limits, even more so once she starts dating Adam, his best friend. But there's something about Zach she can't stop thinking about. Years after falling out of touch with him, he re-enters her life, wanting to rekindle their friendship--and maybe the little bit more they had that summer six years ago. But Daisy is happy with Adam... isn't she?

I loved the premise of this book, and while it did kind of suck me in, ultimately I didn't love it. I didn't particularly like Zach OR Adam--I wish we'd seen some more of their good qualities. I went into this expecting a love triangle where I was kinda of rooting for both love interests but I didn't really root for either one. I think the framework was there, and it was close--like I mentioned earlier it did suck me in. But ultimately, as a romance I just needed to like the love interest(s?) a little more so it fell somewhere between two and three stars for me. That being said, while I wasn't particularly a fan of this book, there were a lot of things to like about it and I would definitely read more from the author.

I could tell from the first three pages who she was going to end up with in this story. I felt like we only learned surface level details about Daisy, Zach, and Adam and it left me wanting more. There were definitely parts where I could feel the chemistry between the characters, which kept me reading.

Thanks NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an ARC!!

I really wanted to enjoy this but felt like the story was rushed and I didn’t get to know the characters. They were not well fleshed out or relatable.

Thanks to Christy McKellen and Boldwood Books for my eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

I was confused really quickly while reading this book. It starts off with a description of each characters relationships in lieu of backstory, and specifically states that Daisy sees Adam as a brother. But by the end of the first chapter they are dating. Whiplash. Six years later.. SIX.. they are still together. The plot was fun and light but lacked the depth and character development that would have made it a more enjoyable read. It was hard to totally believe Daisys knew what she wanted with Zach, especially with his fame and Adam’s downhill spiral. Regardless, I liked the tension between Daisy and Zach throughout but wanted it to be a much greater crescendo of “want” so the speed of the ending made sense. It felt too abrupt for how wishy washy Daisy was. IMO. Overall I read it quickly and enjoyed it.

I received an advance review copy for free via Netgalley and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Oh gosh I think I needed a valium in the middle of this poor love triangle! Well written and drew me in quickly. This is not a clean read, and the chemistry was palpabIe. I was uncomfortable with the cheating and glad it addressed emotional affairs. Good read couldn't put it down.

Thank you to Boldwood books and NetGalley for the advanced copy of this title.
This book is the perfect love triangle scenario filled with longing and angst. This book comes in under 200 pages and read quickly like a novella.
I had a soft spot for each character, which was a testament to the author's writing.
This is the story of childhood friends Alex, Zach, and Daisy. Alex is the golden retriever, Zach is broody and unreadable, and Daisy in the innocent girl next door.
The book has dual timelines where we visit memories of the past intertwined with present day.
Alex and Zach both hold a flame for Daisy. While Zach masks his affection with disdain, Alex swoops in and puts his feeling front and center.
Daisy and Alex enter into a long-term relationship that is safe and comfortable but missing the fire. Zach becomes a global superstar actor and comes in and out of their lives. Every time he returns, the chemistry between Zach and Daisy is electric. There is so much tension and desperation between the two, it was hard to put this book down.
There is cheating and a glaring emotional affair throughout the entirety of the book. One of the characters completely change in personality which leads to the catalyst of the story. I felt like this went too far off the mark for what that character had previously represented.
The buildup was masterfully written, but the ending felt rushed. There is one part where Daisy kisses a complete stranger at a party, and I felt this was completely unwarranted and served no purpose. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would recommend if you like angsty reads full of buildup and tension.

DNF @15% mostly because I didn't enjoy the writing style. Aside from that, the background story between characters was too info-dumpy for my liking and lacked depth; failed to make me care.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC.

I enjoyed this quick read! As others have said, it's not really a love triangle because you can tell exactly where Daisy is going to wind up! It's predictable, and I didn't completely fall in love with the characters, but overall it held my attention and I enjoyed it! Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review!

Thanks to NetGalley for the chance! I typically devour a love triangle trope but just couldn’t get into this one unfortunately. Echo a few others comments about the plot not getting deep or angsty enough for personal preferences. The low star rating may be highly biased because of my preconceived notions for the love triangle trope.

Love the arc and over outline of the story. However I felt like it fell flat on the execution. The execution didn’t leave me rooting for any of the characters by the end of the book.

I really wanted to like this one. I usually am a fan of love triangles and complicated relationships. This novel just did not do it for me. I do not mind a complicated character or two. But, every character was the worst.

This was a pretty good book. I think it could have been written a little bit better and I was not a huge fan of the characters.

I really loved this !! It didn't go for too long which is a problem I often find with love triangle romances. The tension between Zach and Daisy was also built up great and I liked that Adam was not made into a complete villian. I also think the time jumps worked well for the story and I loved the in depth explanations of the characters relationships with one another.

"Three's a Crowd” has potential. During the first few chapters I was intrigued. However, once the time skipped the story lost its luster for me. I am all for angsty romance. I love to feel the pain and longing but there has to be substance to the relationship.

When using the cheating trope there needs to be more than on the surface type of love. I need to know exactly why these characters are truly meant to be together. I need to be able to feel it as well. Otherwise, the characters appear as one dimensional and highly selfish. I wish we were able to dive into each one of these relationships to see how great their supposed friendships were. Lastly, I don't like when a character is presented as a great person just to be destroyed later on for plot, especially when they are actually the victim in the situation.

I want to start this review by saying that I normally enjoy love triangles, which is why I was interested in this book in the first place. But this wasn't really a love triangle because it's pretty obvious what choice she's going to make and honestly, sometimes Daisy, the main character, got on my nerves because of how she acted towards Adam.
That being said, the banter between Daisy and Zach was excellent and I had a great time reading it!
This is also a short book, so I can excuse the lack of emotional depth to the story.
I would recommend it, just keep in mind that it's just a fun read and you may find the character annoying at times! The plot was also a little crazy but it didn't bother me.
3.5 stars rounded up to 4!

I dived into this book expecting a cute, angsty romance read. While it had its moments, I found the plot to be a bit messy and lacking in depth and character development. The story felt somewhat one-dimensional, and I wished there had been more time spent introducing us to the characters. I often wondered about Daisy's motivations and found it challenging to connect emotionally with her and Zach.

The miscommunication and cheating tropes were heavily featured and served as the primary devices to move the story forward. If you're a fan of these tropes, this book might be for you. However, they're not my favourites and really affected my overall enjoyment of the story.

While this book had potential with its intriguing premise and moments of romantic tension, the lack of depth and reliance on certain tropes made it difficult for me to fully engage with the story and characters. And ultimately it didn't quite hit the mark for me.

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the opportunity to read this ARC.

This book has an engaging narrative with a compelling premise that kept me intrigued throughout. Despite occasional pacing issues and repetitive plot elements, the chemistry between Zach and Daisy shines, adding depth to their dynamic. While Daisy's indecisiveness occasionally frustrated me, the overall character development was well-executed. With its moments of humor and genuine emotion, Three's a crowd delivers an enjoyable read that promises future potential from the author. Solidly deserving of 4 stars. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC!
