Witch Finder is a bit on the predictable side. There is the obvious choice of villains in Sebastian Knyvers. There is the older brother who only cares that he gets a higher position in society at the expense of his own sister. The mother figure is not any better using magic in order to force Rosa into submission. There is the obvious pull between Rosa and Luke that you can't help but wonder if it will survive the trials and tribulations that they face. There were some interesting secondary characters like Sebastian's sister Cassie who is blind, as well as Luke's uncle William. This, of course, is the first installment in the trilogy, and thus there are some questions that will need to be answered in subsequent installments.

Witch Finder by Ruth Warburton is an intense and atmospheric story set in Victorian London. It follows Luke, a boy bent on revenge against witches, and Rosa, a witch unaware of the danger she's in. The novel is filled with dark magic, suspense, and a thrilling game of cat and mouse as Luke struggles with his mission to kill Rosa while grappling with unexpected feelings. The gothic setting and the stakes keep you hooked, though some pacing feels slow at times. A great read for fans of dark, historical fantasy with emotional depth!

I requested this several years ago and I don't think it's a book for me anymore. So I will not be reviewing at this time, but if I do read it, I will update this review. Thank you for the opportunity.

I got accepted to review this book years ago, but unfortunately never got around to reading it. Apologies for this.

I wasn't able to download and read this book due to a bad flare up of lyme disease. I apologize to Netgalley and the publisher and author.

Requested and downloaded this book back in 2013 with every intention of reading it but then it expired on my device before I had the chance. Have felt bad about that and as a result haven't wanted to leave a review but with more and more publishers relying on Feedback ratings I need to clear out some of these older titles in my queue.
