Daniel Hurst has done it again! Although the synopsis might throw you off a bit, the book more than makes up for it.

The story follows two nurses, Darcy and Pippa, who get a new assignment to care for a wealthy man's wife. She’s had a nasty fall and now suffers from memory loss. But, as you can guess, nothing is as simple as it seems. Darcy soon becomes suspicious, and the intrigue begins!

The book starts a bit slow, but don't let that discourage you—it quickly picks up speed. The twist in the middle was so unexpected, it made my head snap up like I might get whiplash!

This is a great introduction to a new series, and I can’t wait for the next book. Big thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for giving me the chance to read and review this ARC.

Darcy and Pippa are nurses for the private sector, and they always puts their patients first. They take on a new client Adrian, a retired doctor whose wife Scarlett, a retired nurse needs looking after. She had an accident that caused her to have brain damage. So, she can’t remember her long term memory only the present. So, she needs daily care for her needs.
When they first meet the couple, Darcy senses that something is not right. So, she is on a mission to find out what it is.
In the meantime, she has problems of her own. She thinks someone is stalking her and she wakes up to find someone in her house.
Yet again, Daniel Hurst doesn’t disappoint with the Perfect Nurse the first book in an exciting new series from the author. At first, I must admit it was a slow burn for the first half of the book. But even so I couldn’t put it down. I thought I knew what direction this was heading, and I was surprised again with the author’s famous twist that it turned out to go in a completely different direction which was more intriguing then the first half. All in all, I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see how this series develops. 4 stars from me.

Thankyou NetGalley and Bookoulture for this ARC

There isn’t too much I can say about this book without giving away the plot twists but if you are looking for a fast paced mystery with lots of twists and turns and a shocking ending then I definitely recommend this one.

This is my first Daniel Hurst book and I went into it really not knowing much about the story and I’m so glad I did as it really kept up the suspense whilst reading and I had no idea what was coming next. Can’t wait to read more of his books in the future.

Daniel Hurst does it again! I always love getting this author’s books because I know what I’m in for- a fast paced, twisty thriller with a shock ending. “The Perfect Nurse” is exactly what I signed up for, and I am ready for the sequel!

I won’t give much away, but I really enjoyed the first twist in this book. I had my suspicions and felt fulfilled when it was revealed. It was an enjoyable ride all the way through. My advice is go into this one without reading much about it, and suspend disbelief. This is a great beach read for the summer! Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book was definitely one that I could not put down. I even woke up in the middle of the night and ended up reading it for 2.5 more hours. From the very beginning, I was intrigued and questioning what possibly could go wrong. Darcy is a home health nurse who meets Adrian and his wife Scarlett. Scarlett had an accident and since then has had problems with memory, but Darcy believes there is more to it. Usually I am fairly good at figuring out what twists are coming, but I did not see these coming at all. The first one blew my mind. I had never read anything by this author, but see that changing in the future! Thank you to NetGalley, Bookouture, and Daniel Hurst for the ARC!

Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture, for an early release copy of Daniel Hurst's new thriller, The Perfect Nurse.

This wasn't my favorite so far by Mr Hurst, but it was still entertaining and kept me turning pages to see who was hiding what! Darcy is working as a nurse doing homecare in Chicago. Her latest patient is suffering from memory loss after a fall at her home. Immediately upon arrival at her new assignment, Darcy feels something is just not quite right with the couple or their home. When strange things begin happening at her home as well, she decides to dig a little deeper. Who has the secret? Why are they keeping it? The more Darcy uncovers, the worse. How far is she willing to go to be the perfect nurse? Once I figured out the first twist, I could kind of see where the end was going, and I was pretty close with my guess! Good, quick read.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the opportunity to read the ARC of The Perfect Nurse.

Daniel Hurst has done it again. I could not put down this book and when I did, I thought about it until I was able to pick it back up again. This is a real page-turner with twists and turns you would never expect.

The book starts off with Darcy and Pippa, two nurses who are heading to take care of a new patient by the name of Scarlett. The book is told from the point of view of Darcy as she and Pippa start this new job/adventure together.

It looks like this book is part of a series and I can't wait for the next book to be released. I will clear my calendar for this one.

Publication date: July 1, 2024

Absolutely excellent! I have read lots of books by Daniel Hurst and loved them all, and this one certainly didn’t disappoint

This was my first arc read and I loved every second of it. There were so many twists and turns throughout this whole book. I was thinking that one thing was going to happen and then a whole plot twist happened. As a nurse myself, I was engulfed in this book. I enjoyed every second of it and wanted more. I didn’t want it to end. I’ll be recommending this to all my nurse friends for when this book comes out!!

3.5☆
This story was a wild ride from start to finish.

It follows nurses Darcy and Pippa heading out to care for a new patient whom Darcy suspects has a hidden agenda.

I was a little annoyed with the interactions between Darcy and her new employer. However, once the story gets going, it all pieces together.

It was a fun, bingeable thriller with a bit of a farfetched plot, which is why I gave it 3.5/5

Darcy and Pippa are homecare nurses and start an assignment at a home in a very wealthy area. The patient is Scarlette, a woman who suffered a head injury. Her husband is a retired doctor who has been taking care of her. Darcy gets weird vibes as soon as she enters the house. This was a quick easy read for me as I could not put it down. It had several twists that really surprised me. I always enjoy Author Daniel Hurst's book and they never disappoint.

Thank you NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC of this book that kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end.

Darcy and Pippa are nurses that work for Aiden and Scarlett. Scarlett hit her head when she fell at her home and has a head injury. Right off the bat, that seems suspicious. There are tons of references to sleeping pills as well, so seems like Darcy is a pill popper. As the two girls take care of Scarlett, some discrepancies come to light and Darcy is sure they are hiding something. but what they are hiding is not at all what the reader will expect! I can't say much else without giving anything away. Daniel's books all seem to have the same suspense and shocks; although often times things are predictable as well. Good book!

What a great story! Shocking twist Halfway through the book, but still many more twists and turns. This may be his best book yet!!

This book is a short and sweet read. The plot was creative but I have to say I figured out the twist very early on which took away from the shock of the book. Ok but not fabulous.

I discovered this author last year thanks to netgalley and I'm at the point now if he writes it, I'll read it. This book was very addictive as I wanted to keep reading to find out what happens next which is always a good sign! This book is a perfect thriller read for summer and will surprise you until the very end. Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for this advanced copy.

3.5⭐️! I don’t read thrillers very often so this was really interesting. My favourite arc so far. I really enjoyed this, the book kept me on my toes and always had me thinking. There was so much going on all the time, never a dull moment! Although the family plot twist was predictable to me since Scarlett mentioned it earlier on in the book, and I felt like the Laurence story was missing something to give it that extra bit of power/punch. Overall I did really enjoy this and I’d be happy to receive more arcs from this author. Thank you again for this opportunity.

This was a fast-paced thriller that kept you guessing. The first half was a bit slow to take off but also very necessary for the character development and storyline. The second half really took off with twist after twist making this a real unputdownable thriller. The story follows nurse Darcy as she cares for patient scarlet who recently fell and is dealing with a brain injury and memory loss. It is a great read. I really enjoyed this one and will be reading more by this author. Thanks to Daniel Hurst and NetGalley for this ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Darcy and her friend Pippa work as nurses in the private sector. They are hired by a retired doctor Aidan to give in-house care to his wife Scarlett, who suffers from memory loss after an accident at home. Darcy immediately feels something is not right with the couple and doesn't believe they are telling the truth about Scarletts accident.
Darcy starts digging into the couple's lives to try uncover the truth. What she finds out brings her past back to haunt her.

A brilliantly written psychological thriller that had me gripped from the first page with a excellent plot twist. I'm looking forward to reading more books by this author.

As someone who works in healthcare, and is married to a nurse, I was really looking forward to reading this book, but sadly it fell a bit flat for me. Perhaps because the plot is focussed on an area that is familiar to me and I know a lot of, that I found it hard to immerse myself in the story aspect of it? - I imagine (and the other reviews give this indication) that others will enjoy it and not be affected in this way, and so I wouldn't let my personal opinion sway you from giving it a go.

The characters were nicely developed, the relationships and backgrounds were slowly revealed. If you're someone who prefers a slow read, with details gradually being revealed, rather than a fast-paced wizz stop thriller, then this one might appeal to you. The descriptions were well written; I can't complain about the prose backbone of the story. Overall, it had all the features needed to make a good read, it just wasn't to my taste. Still, I was happy to try something new and am grateful to Bookouture and Daniel Hurst for the ARC; thank you.

I enjoyed this one. I was hooked immediately but then things sort of slowed a little and I wasn’t sure how I felt about it. I stayed the course, because there are a few authors that I know for sure will grab my attention again and DH is one of them. I’m glad I didn’t give up on this one. I know I need to exercise patience. 😂🤣😂

Anyway the 2nd half of the book the pacing really took off and it just seemed to flow better than the 1st half.

Some twists I put together early on and some I didn’t but it was fun figuring everything out as I read this one.

I was all in by the time I had finished. It was a good book, not my fav of his but definitely good and worth the read.

I’m amazed at how quickly he pumps these books out. Just steady entertaining me. Can’t wait for the next one.

So in case you were curious, and in case it wasn’t obvious, I’m a huge Daniel Hurst fan. I’ll read anything he writes. So obviously I’ll be reading this latest series. No idea where it goes from here though based upon the ending so I’m very intrigued.
