Thank you to NetGalley and Random House for the ARC.

Sometimes, an author writes a sequel and it just doesn't live up to your expectations. And sometimes, an author writes a sequel that you love even more than the first book. Jenna Levine, you've definitely done the second with My Vampire Plus-One.

My Vampire Plus-One follows Reginald, who you'll remember as Frederick's oh-so chaotic "best" friend from MRIAV, and Amelia our new female protagonist. Where Reggie is unserious and a whirlwind of energy, Amelia is a staid and steady accountant, desperate to avoid her families loving but intrusive probing into her romantic life, or lack thereof, at a cousin's wedding.
Bring on the fake-dating trope!

Having met Reggie in the first book, I was curious to see how Levine could possibly make him into a romantic and sexy love interest. I don't know what magic that woman weaves but she did it. I adored Reggie. He's funny, charming, flirtatious, and definitely leaps off the page as being sexy, even in his checked skirt! Spending time with both him and Amelia was a joy and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how their relationship developed.

It was also nice to get snippets of Frederick and Cassie and how their lives have moved on since the previous book. I'd still happily read a book of their lives following certain developments.

The fact that this book got me out of a reading slump and had me trying to cook a meal with one hand whilst staying in Reggie and Amelia's world with another should be all the endorsement you need to read this book!

I can't wait to see where Levine takes us next!

Thank you Random House UK/Cornerstone , Penguin and NetGalley for this E-ARC of My Vampire Plus One by Jenna Levine

As the hugest fan of My Roommate is a Vampire, I was so overjoyed to be able read and review this absolutely lovely book. You don't have to have read My Roommate is a Vampire to enjoy this book though the Characters are recurring in both books ( Hi Frederick and Cassie) I love the Fake Date to a wedding trope... it is always fun and Jenna has a humour and warmth that is so uniquely her own that I truly loved reading about Amelia and Reggie...

Jenna's first book was pure joy...and this one didn't disappoint either... Love this book.

What a fun time I had reading this one! It's funny, it doesn't take itself too seriously and it made me laugh out loud at several points. The characters are quirky and endearing and I was fully invested beginning to end despite the predictability of it all. It was quite a breath of fresh air and a very easy read that I think will suit any fans of vampire fiction (there's a definite What We Do in The Shadows feel to it). I wish there was a little more intrigue and character development but it's a quick fun read that does it job well.

As soon as I saw this was available to request, I jumped at the chance! I couldn’t wait to get back to this world and start learning all about Reginald and his story.

Fake dating is one of my favourite tropes, and I really enjoyed how this one played out. I fell in love with how strange Reggie is, with his bullet journalling and interesting sense of fashion. And the chemistry between him and Amelia was so lovely to read.

I did like seeing Frederick and Cassie pop up from time to time and finding out how they’re getting on since the first book.

Over all, I did enjoy reading this! I do hope there may be a third in the works at some point as I can’t get enough of the vampire romcoms.

i loved the first book in this series so i was really excited to read this one, and it did not disappoint!

this really felt like a proper romcom with the perfect amount of romance and comedy - i read a lot of this on my train to work and had to stop myself from laughing out loud multiple times.

fake dating is my favourite trope ever and this did it so well. the romance felt very real and reggie was such a loveable main character. i also loved amanda and how independent she was, i think they worked so well together.

overall this was so fun to read - i can’t wait to read more from this series!

thank you so much to netgalley, the publisher and the author for the arc 🫶🏻

I enjoyed this more than the first book, because I still strongly believe Cassie and Frederick should have stayed friends, but with Amelia and Reginald, the progression from meeting each other to being together made a lot more sense to me.

Reggie quickly became my favorite character in this book. I loved his bullet journal entries and his insane way of dressing. I couldn't really see myself enjoying an entire book centred around him after meeting him in book 1 but honestly, he was hard not to love. Amelia wasn't anything too special in terms of female lead. I felt as though I'd read a thousand of her before, but their dynamic was still really sweet.

If you enjoyed book one, you'll probably enjoy Reggie and Amelia's story even more.

🩸 My Vampire Plus-One🩸
- Jenna Levine

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I read the first book in this series My Roommate is a Vampire earlier this year and was so lucky to receive an ARC of the sequel!

In My Vampire Plus-One, we follow workaholic tax account Amelia who, when she meets Reginald, is whisked into a plot involving vigilante vampires and a whole lot of tax fraud (which is far more entertaining than it sounds!)

Jenna Levine’s books are so laugh-out-loud funny! The emphasis is definitely on the ‘comedy’ rather than the ‘romance’. The diary entries, the ludicrous, almost slapstick scenarios and Reginald himself!

Transforming the flamboyant side character Reginald into a romantic lead seemed an insurmountable task and I’m still not quite sure this was accomplished. However, he was unapologetically himself; loud, outrageous and outlandish. I appreciate that this series is refreshing in its willingness to step outside the bounds of what we are accustomed to seeing in romcoms.

I enjoyed the cameos from Frederick and Cassie. I found Amelia slightly boring and one-dimensional, although more likeable than Cassie.

Overall, I’d recommend to fans of comedy and for those who love Ashley Poston’s books, as the supernatural/magic realism aspects are quite similar. Definitely don’t go into this expecting a groundbreaking romance, rather an entertaining and humorous quick read.

Let me know in the comments if you’ve read My Roommate is a Vampire and if you’ll reading the sequel when it releases on September 17th!

Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

This is a light-hearted, paranormal rom-com with endless twilight references and a sweet take on the fake dating trope.

“As Amelia and Reggie practice their fauxmance, it becomes clear that Reggie is as loyal to her as the day is long, and that Amelia’s first impressions could not have been more wrong.”

Reggie, Reggie, Reggie, what can I say? Reggie is a unique character who is a fresh take on the modern vampire. It was refreshing to have such a likable MMC from the get go, he’s a true gent and absolutely filled to the brim with quick wit and armed with an endlessly filthy mouth. Although his outfit choices are… questionable. I found myself falling more and more in love with him every chapter.

Amelia is a relatable, modern day corporate woman and it was so nice to read a romance with a strong and independent FMC. She doesn’t NEED Reggie, and that made me enjoy this story more than I anticipated.

There is some spice but it is not overwhelming and in my opinion it does not distract from the plot.

This isn’t the type of story that I would usually pick up as a hardcore romantasy reader, but it was an easy read that I devoured in less than 24 hours.

4 stars, I would recommend!

Light-hearted, fun, easy read. Equal parts hilarious and ridiculous, but honestly had such a good time with this story. Will forever love a vampire romance and this is no exception; bonus points for the fantastic spice!

Reggie is my absolute favourite, so beyond silly but also incredibly endearing. He is so sweet and his bullet journalling with his pros and cons list made me emotional in the best way. Amelia is relatable and very likeable as a main character - I thought they were great together.

Would definitely recommend this for those interested in paranormal romances that don’t take themselves too seriously. What a joy this was to read!

I think I’ve found another go to author!

My Vampire Plus-One had me swooning, blushing, laughing out loud and just plain beaming from the get go. Reggie and Amelia’s relationship is precious, and I’m already praying that I get to see more of them in any subsequent books in the series.

Thank you so much to NetGalley for providing me with this ARC, and thank you to Jenna Levine for your magnificent writing and storyweaving. Consider me a firm fan!

I found My Roommate Is a Vampire to be such a wholesome romance book, that I couldn't wait to read not Reginald's story.

Reginald is a weird vampire with no fashion sense. When his past start catching up to him, a fake relationship with human accountant, Amelia seems the solution. He can distract himself and spend some time away from the city where he's being hunted. However, he didn't count on falling for a human.

Amelia proposed this fake-dating business to Reginald to have her family off her back. While she always has a plan, since she met Reginald, she's flying from the seat of her pants. But the more time she spends with him, the more she wants to have something real with him.

Now both of them need to decide if their relationship is worth their differences, and Amelia needs to turn into a knight in shining armour to protect her vampire lover from being staked.

Thank you NetGalley and Cornerstone for a digital ARC.

Synopsis: Amelia Collins is successfully single but tired of her family's constant questions about her dating life. To get them off her back, she decides to find a fake date for an upcoming family wedding. After meeting the handsome and strange Reginald Cleaves, she deems him perfect for the role. Reggie, a centuries-old vampire, finds the idea amusing and useful for pretending to be human. As they practice their fauxmance, Amelia realises Reggie is loyal and not what she expected, making a real relationship with him seem fang-tastic.

Rating: ☆☆☆☆
I was excited to read another book by Jenna Levine. This book is also lighthearted and a quick, enjoyable read. The characters are adorable, and you instantly root for them. I enjoyed the tropes of forced proximity, fake dating, and a golden retriever-like male lead. While the cuteness was sometimes overwhelming, it was still a great read. I also liked how Cassie and Frederick were woven into the plot and played significant roles.

Thank you NetGalley and penguin books for the chance for a free read for an honest review !
Firstly yes!! Reginald getting his own book fangtastic:)
He is such a goofy character but unbelievably sweet.
I love his whole arc of being selfish to completely devoted to Amelia.
He even manages to keep friends and even older coats
YKYK.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes light pop culture references, touch her and you'll die, and honestly a new vampire book is always a good thought but this book is sweet fun and in some way absolutely dashing.
Now please write a book about Zelda she seems amazing and invite both vampire couples along for the story maybe even a werewolf or warlock? (just suggestions
I freaking loved this book so much it was just what I needed after reading something far to serious lol
I've never laughed so hard at a reference and a banter between friends before.
I feel like if you've ever watched Pysch Reggie is Shawn Spencer.
More of these please thank you

I really enjoyed My Roommate is a vampire so I was delighted to see there was going to be a second book is the series and had high hopes it would be just as good. But I was wrong, it was better.
I found Reginald so funny in the first book and was so happy he was getting his own. He was even more funny in this one with a vulnerable side we obviously didn’t see in the first. I loved him and Amelia together and how well they worked.
Was good to see what happened with Cassie and Freddie also.
I whizzed through the book as I didn’t want to put it down. A fun, light read that just kept me wanting more. Also, there’s some spice in there too but not too much it took away from the story.
I can’t wait for more from this author.

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this e-arc from the publisher via netgalley but this has in no way influenced my opinion or review.

When I originally finished this book last night I thought it was a 4.5⭐️. Since then I have not stopped thinking about this book. 5⭐️!!!!!

Main characters
The male main character is one of the best men I have had the pleasure of reading about. He is kind, funny, charismatic and at the heart of him he is driven by improvement and honesty.
The female main character is also amazing. She is strong, loving and is just missing someone who can bring out her laugh. Until …. Reggie comes along.

Plot
Throughout the book there are many things taking place.
2 Main Things (in my opinion)
1) The two main characters fake dating. - I loved this plot and I loved the way the characters went about it. It felt like fiction had met non fiction. It felt real and human.
2) Reggie’s history coming to light - now I won’t say much because that would be a spoiler but I really enjoyed this. It was funny and unrealistic in such an entertaining way.

Other
Reggie Bullet journals!!!!
Cassie and Fredrick are prominent characters. (My Roommate is a Vampire)
So Fast Paced - I was struggling to find something I enjoyed before this book and it was so fun and easy.
Amelia has a cat called Gracie

Thank you to Random House UK for this ARC. 💗💗

A big thank you to NetGalley and Cornerstone Press for sending me this e-ARC to read and review.

4/5 ✨

I fell in love with Jenna Levine’s My Roommate is a Vampire when I first read it, so I was incredibly eager to read My Vampire Plus-One.

This book was just so incredibly FUN. It was so delightfully silly in parts that I actually laughed out loud. I love a book that doesn’t take itself too seriously and this was the perfect paranormal romantic comedy.

The romance aspect was well done. The burn was slow, with a cocky but soft MMC and a few of my favourite tropes; fake dating; forced proximity/only one bed etc.

I loved that we got continuity from the previous book and got to see how characters were interlinked or how their stories progressed.

I honestly couldn’t put this book down and finished it in one afternoon/evening. It is the perfect, lighthearted, palate-cleansing read and I 100% recommend.

🧛Another absolute winner from Jenna🧛

My roommate is a vampire was adorable and unexpected. I really hoped that this sequel would live up to its predecessor and it 100% did. Jennas books are the prefect palate cleanser and guaranteed to push you through any book slump.

Tropes;
❄️ Vampire x human
❄️ Bullet journals
❄️ Fake dating
❄️ One bed
❄️ Absolutely damn adorable cinnamon roll hero
❄️ He falls first
❄️ SPICE 🌶️

Fake dating is without a doubt my favourite trope. There literally isn’t a fake dating book I won’t read. Reginald is just as out of touch as Frederick and I totally love him for it 😆. He is unapologetically himself and so perfect. He’s hilarious, adorable and completely over the top.

Fredricks cameo was EVERYTHING and him still being embarrassed by his fruit had me howling 😂🍍

Jenna has marked herself on my autobuy list and I’m here for it 🙌

OMG I just loved the first book in this series and when I saw that there was a second book meaning this book, I was so excited and happy. I was very happy when I got my copy and I started reading it immediately and I just loved it, Reginald would be thought of being Frederick’s best friend even though he annoys the life out of Frederick. This is Reginald’s book and I just loved it so much that once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down, so much so when I got to the end I felt like I was saying goodbye to a friend. This book just made me love Reginald even more than I did in the first book.

This book follows Reginald and Amelia who meet unexpectedly outside of Amelia’s work as Reginald is being chased and hunted down by vampires who blame Reginald for an incident in the past and as Amelia comes out of work Reginald bumps into her and papers go flying but Reginald helps her up and to get the papers and they chat but briefly as Amelia is on her way to meet her family for dinner and as is normal when Amelia gets there her mum tells her that her cousin is getting married and when is Amelia going to get someone as is normal with Amelia’s mum and dad. Amelia then is meeting a friend in a coffee shop and they come up with the idea that she needs a fake boyfriend and who happens to be in the coffee shop but Reginald who is a very good looking guy and he did say he owed Amelia for helping when the bumped into each other before. This begins a beautiful and heartwarming friendship which turns into a beautiful and amazing relationship with Amelia and Reginald and I just loved this book so much.
