Duck duck duckity duck! This book was so ducking fun!
Mia Harlan delivered a fun and creative short read with this one, and even added a spicy little scene that wasn't too explicit.

Rachel is tasked with watching her three godchildren while their grandmother is on vacation. Things would be just fine if she didn't struggle with children. She has no idea what she is doing! Fortunately, the hot next-door neighbor, Sig, is around to help save the day. The only thing is he's a rubber duckie shifter! He's been doing a great job hiding it from everyone, but the more he starts falling for Rachel, the more he feels compelled to tell her the truth. Hopefully she won't duck out on him!

This book was so fun, I didn't want it to end! The author did an amazing job with the writing as well as with the pacing. I'm sure it can be challenging to incorporate so much into a 100-page short story but she nailed it! I laughed so hard every time a duck pun was made! And the spicy romance scene was perfect, with a bit of quirk added, of course! Absolutely loved and enjoyed this one so much!

Thank you NetGalley, Author Collective 20, and Mia Harlan for such a great ARC!

Short and funny. Loved the way he said duck instead of f*ck 😂 and the fact that he could “bounce back” with zero wait time in between rounds!

Super cute story and a quick read. I don’t normally read this type of romance but rubber ducks sounded intriguing. I know for a fact this book has now made me wish there were water parks full of rubber duckies to swim with. Maybe one day….
Besides the cute storyline the book was decently written and entertaining.

I don't know what I was expecting, really.

It's written ok but read a bit juvenile at times. I don't think these crazy romances are for me. Glad I tried it though and this was well paced. The author 100% set this up for a sequel so I expect this to become a series.

If this is your thing definitely give it a shot! Funny and light hearted

Thankyou to the Author and Netgalley for an e-arc in exchange for an honest review

This was such a fun read. I read the title and then the description and I was literally in tears crying. I knew I had to pick this book up. It’s such a fun read with so many duck puns and duck innuendoes I didn’t know one could make. I had such a fun time with this. I’ve read dozens of shifter romances but never a rubber duckie one

Some books are just fun. “Rubber Duckie Shifter Next Door” fits perfectly into that description. One of my dear friends calls books like this one “bananapants” books. By definition they are more than a bit crazy, off the wall, you are going to laugh a lot while reading, ask yourself “what?” & “why?” more than a few times while reading, but most importantly being smiling when you’re are finished reading.

There are just days and situations that call for the endorphin release that bananapants romances deliver and this book will fit the bill for anyone needing the sexy fun of a hot neighbor who happens to be a rubber duck shifter that saves the day when you are in over your head with the 3 children you inherited from your best friend.

I can also recommend this book for the challenge reader crowd who is always looking for a unique read to mark off a square on a bingo card. Keywords: #waterpark #inanimateobjectshifter #hotnextdoorneighor #inheritedchildren #bathtub #fatedmate

All in all this is a very quick and fun read, that will provide a good laugh and discussion for any group of romance readers you are in. (My book club is already chattering about it and it isn’t even out yet, we are just got early access to the ARC).

3.5 Stars, rounding up to 4. Enjoy this summer and share with friends..

I have an unhealthy obsession with these kind of books and always fascinated on how an author thinks of stories like these and will tell everyone I know about them

Well, this was ducking interesting! I hadn't read a shifter romance before, and I'm not too sure how I feel about it 🤣.
Thankfully, I read this one with @sluts.and.butty.reads ! I couldn't have made it through without them 🤣.
In all seriousness, I didn't hate this. It was kind of a cute story. It was a really fast read, which is actually a nice change.
The most disappointing thing was that there was only one spicy scene. I feel like there could have been more! Especially after putting up with all the duck references throughout, lol.
Honestly, this was a fun read, and I would recommend it if you are into this sort of thing!

3.5⭐️

Oh, my ducking duck! This book is so funny 😂😂 I picked this up because of the cover and the description, not realizing that it's a shifter book.

This was funny, cute, and steamy. Although this is my first time reading a Mia Harlan book, I really enjoyed it.

Thanks to NetGalley and Mia Harlan for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. Pub date 5/17.

ARC review Digital copy provided by NetGalley.

I got exactly what I expected from a story called “Rubber Duckie Shifter Next Door”. This was 100 pages of fun and quality writing. The dual POV made things even better because reading what Sig was thinking about as a “duckie” was hilarious! Despite being short, the story was well paced, with one pleasantly written sex scene that was not overly graphic. I especially liked that everyone was “human” when the intimate scenes were happening. I would definitely recommend this story to any adult who is looking for a quick (took me just over an hour) little romance.

Thank you to NetGalley and Mia Books for letting me review this book! All opinions are my own.

This was a short and honestly very funny novella, I'm a sucker for fated mates and this story had it all. Full of fluffy sweetness a decent spicy scene and just had me grinning from ear to ear the entire time. Everyone deserves their very own Sig. Highly recommend if you want something light and fun to read between darker and lengthier books!

What a great cover. I’ll be honest I didn’t believe what I was reading at times however I just went with it since the story was short. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC.

This was an odd little read - the concept was intriguing and honestly the duck puns made me laugh out loud. Short and sweet. I think I found Sig came on a bit too strong and gave me the ick abit as a character 😂

Thank you Netgalley and Mia books for the e-Arc. My opinions are being left voluntarily. My bookclub is fun and we read random read now on netgalley and this was my turn as it was a great way to finish a busy work week. This was so much better and enjoyable then I expected I don't read much shifter books but if they are silimsr tk this count me in.

Recommended for my bookckub to pick this up

To be honest, this made me realise that books about shape-shifters are not for me; so, I will not be rating based on plot because that would be unfair.

Besides that, this was a fun and enjoyable read!
Rachel and Sig are both interesting characters, and their relationship is super cute and well-written.

It is a bit rushed at times, but that is generally the case for novellas. However; the author was also able to justify this quick pacing through the main characters being fated mates.

Overall, an engaging and super quick read.

Oh my rubber duckie! This is such a romping fun read with quirky characters and spice to keep it hot enough to jump in the tub. I feel like this novella was such a good time that my cheeks are sore from smiling. The kids made the book feel realistic despite the different shifter. Sugar and spice and all that's nice in a quick read!

This was interesting! I loved how unique the idea behind the shifters are! My only complaint is I really wanted the main character to turn into a cruise ship, regardless of how large or small It was! But the idea behind the ring was adorable

Rubber Duckie Shifter Next Door
Rating: 2/5

I dove eagerly into this novella, drawn by my love for bizarre, shape-shifting tales. Yet, as I read through its pages, I found myself grappling with an inexplicable narrative. Despite my readiness to suspend disbelief, this story left me utterly bewildered.

Initially, the frequent mention of the word duck added a whimsical touch, but soon it felt overdone, stretching the bounds of charm to tedium. Now, before anyone has a go at me, I know that you’re meant to use your imagination and just go with whatever creative license the author chooses to use, but this was just simply subpar.

And the rapid progression from a brief encounter (of no more than five minutes) to declarations of eternal devotion felt jarring and unsettling, even within the confines of a genre known for its swift romances.

In the end, this concoction of oddities proved overwhelming and confusing, leaving me disenchanted rather than captivated.

It was all just a bit too much to be honest with you.

Thank you so much to Netgalley, Mia Books, and the author, Mia Harlan, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.

I decided to read this book for fun - because, why not? I also knew it would be a quick read since it was only 107 pages.

Honestly…it was so much better than I was expecting, which admittedly, the bar was fairly low. The romance is spicy and moves FAST. I seriously wish that this was a more fleshed out book! I think it could be super fun, and definitely different.

Thank you to NetGalley and the author for giving me the chance to read this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This was a quick and interesting read. Very imaginative, and honestly not the weirdest shifter romance I’ve read 😂
