Well that was interesting. Surprisingly sad themes in this one. Spice doesn't kick in until 75% and only one scene. So it's a slow burn for a novella. Funny concept. Funny writing. I love sentient romance so I'll check out more.

This book took me by surprise because who thinks about writing a romance shifter book where the MMC turns into a rubber duckie? Clearly, this author Mia Harlan, but honestly, I am all here for this book! Enjoyed this book to the max. It's a novella with maybe 70 pages, but it doesn't leave you hanging for anything.
Read it, read it.

Thank you, Netgalley, and Mia Books for the (eArc)-eBook for my honest review.
Rounded up from 4.5
Rachel is struggling to prove she can be a good guardian for her friend's kids, so the neighbor, Sig, comes to the rescue! The connection is instantaneous, but little does she know that he can shift...
The title says it all! If you're looking for something silly, light and riduckulous, this one is for you. It also felt a bit rushed, but at about 100 pages, you don't really have time to take your time. Lisa was annoying and the spice comes in much too late for a book this length and doesn't last very long. I was expecting something much spicier to be honest, so I was disappointed on that front, but I liked how quirky that was. Quick, unexpected and entertaining read!
I received an advance review copy of this book for free and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Thank you for the ARC!
I love reading shifter books solely to see how creative authors can get. That being said, this was definitely an experience. Whether it was a good one or a bad one, I don't know.
Rashel was annoying from the start. Like sorry, if the muddy kids refused to get in the shower, hose them down (on a light setting obviously). The kids were another story but being that they were literal kids, I'll let it slide. Sig was strange. This whole book was strange, but Sig was extra strange. I get the whole mate aspect of this but he was literally just yapping about building a family with this woman who had barely uttered two words to him.
If you're into insta love, shifter novellas, I guess this is for you. This was decidedly not for me.
You know what? I really didn't know what to expect with this story, but I didn't expect it to be a story about a non-traditional family. Don't get me wrong, there are still shifter shenanigans and general insanity, but it is still extremely sweet.
Note for those who care: certain activities do not occur while in shifted form. Iykyk
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an eARC of this book for an honest review.
I picked this up because of the title. I recently read Morning Glory Milking Farm and loved it, so I wanted another wacky romance story.
This definitely fit the requirement.
I liked the characters and the originality. This was funny, cute and steamy.
A great novella!
