Thank you for the ARC.
Garrison, describes his childhood in a dysfunctional home that promoted extreme religiosity. The author considers how missionary children are subjected to tremendous pressure. He attempts to combat the issues and is open about his experiences. This is a slow read and a deep book in parts. You have to have a strong heart.
Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. These opinion are completely my own.
I found The Missionary Kid... Talks to be just depressing to be honest. I think that's because it WAS a honest look at the life of a child raised in a extreme circumstances in any fashion, be it addiction, religion, discipline etc. It was
a nt what I expected, but it was a eye opening and interesting.
