Another binge of a Devney book…obviously a five star.
I already love a small town romance but then accidental pregnancy added to the mix?! I am a sucker for accidental pregnancy, and this one was so good. Chef’s kiss!
The attraction between these two was just so dang hot. Had me flipping the pages because the tension was burning up my kindle!
Sasha is dealing with her own grief and secrets but she is a strong, independent, hardworking woman. And then there’s Jax..and of course, his smirk. HIS SMIRK. I LOVED how Devney wrote him and his golden retriever ways. He was absolutely perfect for Sasha, and exactly what she needed.
I also really loved Jax and Emery’s friendship and how Jax was her safe place. Loved this whole plot. It was perfection.
Tropes:
Cowboy romance
Small town
Surprise pregnancy
Workplace
Forced proximity
I am so glad to be back at Haven River Ranch! I loved the little tease we got of Jax and Sasha at the end of Crossroads and it had me craving more. I loved their banter and tension- it made me laugh and you could definitely tell there was underlying chemistry between them. Ava and Stephen were cast so well- I loved them as Jax and Sasha. there were so many vulnerable moments between them and both narrators displayed those emotions perfectly. Ava specifically has this was of making you really buy into her character. I felt like there was a lot of character development between both of them, and I really liked getting to see them both grow. one thing I really loved was them asking one another to “tell me a lie?” and “tell me a secret”. I loved being able to fall in love with the Haven River Ranch a little bit more.

i adore this series so much and have fallen in love with haven river ranch! sasha and jax’s story was perfect and oh so sweet. I will never not love the accidental pregnancy trope and devney perry did a wonderful job executing it. these two captured my heart from the beginning of their meet cute and i loved seeing their relationship develop while preparing for the baby.
jax was so patient and loving to sasha it warmed my heart! he never pushed her too hard and was always there to reassure her. it was beautiful to see sasha’s healing journey and i loved getting to know her.
the epilogue was perfect and i was so happy to finally see who the mystery character was. there definitely was a couple tears shed at the end, these characters have become a favorite of mine and this series as a whole! i cannot wait to see what’s next 💛
thank you so much Valentine PR and Devney Perry for the eARC!
I loved this book. Jax and Sasha were so good together. The push and pull and stubbornness between them was really fun.
I really loved the way Devney weaved Sasha’s mysterious past in with the present story. This was like a great plate of food. Everything went together perfectly and there wasn’t too much of it. It was a quick read, not easy but quick.
Accidental pregnancy, as a trope, doesn’t always work for me but it was perfect here. Jax and Sasha each had things in their past that made parenting a worry for them. Accidental pregnancy just because you like it isn’t always interesting but this felt so natural and like a real scenario. And I don’t mean like this doesn’t happen in real life to people. I mean in the sense that it felt real and honest for the characters specifically. I ate that up.
This little duet holds such a special place in my heart. And Devney is out here really being a one woman tourism board for Montana y’all! 😂 never wanted to visit more than after reading a Devney Perry book. 🫶🏼
I was SO STOKED to be back at Haven River Ranch. When we first met Jax in Crossroads, I was so bummed to have to wait until October…BUTTT fret not, he’s here and you are definitely gonna wanna meet him 🤩 Yallllll the level of burn in this book was SLOW but it was sooo worth it. The tension between Jax and Sasha just made me want to jump into the book to bring them together.
You are seriously in trouble with Jax and Sasha. Between both of them they are hilarious. One thing I love in a book is the quick whit and this book had it 👏🏻
I did not want this book to end 😭 I fell in love with Jax and Sasha and the story they shared. Sasha’s story is such a mystery, but Jax did not let that stop him from trying to break her walls down and getting her to open up. And Lordy he broke those suckers down. 🫠

“My Josephine.”
The minute I read that line, I was a goner! Could the man be any sweeter?
I wasn’t sure where Jax’s story would go after reading Crossroads. He was a bit of a mystery, but I loved every second of his story! He showed a wide range of emotions throughout, from hurt from his step-mom situation to joy and unconditional love for his unborn child to falling in love with Sasha.
Sasha had me guessing through the whole book! I couldn’t figure out who she was writing letters to and had about 4 different guesses. Special thanks to my friend for fielding my text messages every time I changed my mind about who I thought it was. It turned out my original guess was correct, so yay me!
Sasha had built some necessary walls in her life and was understandably slow to let herself feel things for other people. But watching Jax break through to her was everything I wanted for the couple!

Thank you to the author and Valentine PR for an eARC and ALC of this book. All opinions are my own and voluntarily given.
I’m not sure if there’s more coming in this series, but if there is, you know I’ll be reading it! (So please let there be more!)

Oh my oh my how I love Jax and Sasha!! True to form Devney brought us an utterly perfect small town accidental pregnancy book! I savored every minute of Jax and Sasha and was definitely not ready for it to end. Dare I say this easily became a top Devney book for me.
Jax and Sasha meet by chance at the grocery store. The attraction is immediate and the flirting was off the charts, until Sasha realizes that Jax is her new boss (kind of, he owns the ranch where she will be working). Once Sasha realizes this she immediately tries to shut down her feelings and put her walls up as high as possible. However these two can't resist the pull and finally give in to one night...which leads to two pink lines and a whole lot to figure out.
I am so in love with these two. Sasha was so guarded and watching Jax tear her walls down just warmed my heart. And I always have rooted for Jax. I wanted him to have his own family and HEA and he just fought so hard for it.
The narration was phenomenal as always!
Thank you Devney for an ALC of this story!
I don’t know what is going on with Devney lately, but I swear that each book consists of the MMC just needing to be better than the leading man in her previous release. Anyone who knows me knows that I’m team Knox Eden being the best Devney MMC there is….but between West Haven, Rush Ramsey, and now Jax Haven……ya girl is over here questioning some things.
One thing I really loved about this story is that, even though it could’ve taken a major insta-love turn, we had to go through a lot of ups and downs to get to the happily ever after.
Both Sasha and Jax have had their fair share of ups, downs and heartache in their less than 30 years. But they both loved the people in their lives so fiercely, no matter what. While it was a series of unfortunate events that brought Sasha to the Haven River Ranch, we all could tell that this was absolutely where she was meant to be….with Jax.
While the road they went down was less than traditional, it was honestly one of the most beautifully written love stories I’ve read. Like, I’ll never be able to hear someone ask for me to tell them a lie or a secret ever again without thinking of Jax and Sasha.
Also, Devney, if you could make HRR a real place and have a job available that’s exactly what Sasha does, that’d be great. Just let me know where to send my resume. 🫶🏼
4.5 stars
Sunlight is another beautifully written story by Devney Perry! I love the story she created for Jax and Sasha! The balance of humor and angst between the two characters was spot on!
All of the tropes were done so well! I loved the dislike to lovers aspect, and the little bit of fish out of water, with Sasha not being from Montana was perfect.
My favorite part of the book were the little moments between the MCs, like Jax asking for a lie and a secret. It played perfectly into the overall story!
4.5⭐️ absolutely devoured this!! Haven river ranch is quickly becoming my favorite series by Devney and that’s saying something because i love so many of her books.
When we first meet Jax in Crossroads, I immediately knew I was going to LOVE his book. And boy, was I right about that! This books has it all: hot cowboys, tender moments, delicious tension, flirty banter, and emotional depth.
What to expect!
✨ small town romance

✨ a little bit of mystery/suspense
I know what you’re thinking accidental pregnancy?? But i demand justice for the accidental pregnancy trope!!! It can be done so well and evoke so much emotion. Devney did such amazing things with this trope. It’s truly the blueprint that everyone should follow for accidental pregnancy and is one of my favorites I’ve ever read!
One thing I love about Devney’s books is there’s often a little mystery/suspense plot with some twists and turns. This one was no different! I was on the edge of my seat and needed to know the tea!!
I absolutely adored the characters in this book. Both Jax and Sasha had such amazing character growth! Seeing Sasha let her wall down and open up to Jax was perfection. I loved seeing her accept help and love into her life after everything she had been through. And Jax, what a little golden retriever with a dash of reformed player! But, he met Sasha and fell first and hard. He was so patient and sweet with her. He really gave her a safe place to land and a place to call home which was so special!
We also get to see glimpses of West and Indya from Crossroads and their cutie kids which I absolutely loved! Devney is always going to be an auto buy author for me! She never fails me and I’m always itching for the next book as soon as I devour a new release.
Thank you so much Devney & team and Valentine PR for the ARC!
I devoured this story…Jax is all that and more I couldn’t get enough of him!
Sasha is a bit of a flight risk, however, Jax’s patience and care for her helps her settle and achieve the thing she never thought she would….she fell in love not just with Montana but also in Montana!!
I enjoyed their journey very much, there’s some light hearted humour, wonderful family connection and many hurts that need to be navigated. But as usual Ms Perry delivers in real time, there’s no quick fix and attraction takes time to build along with trust and love. The moments with just Jax and Sasha together were just right as we got to read along as their walls came down and they found safety and security with each other….of course the attraction and heat helped too!!
I’m not sure what’s next but I hope we go back to the Haven River Ranch.

Sunlight is the second book in Haven River Ranch series and it has accidental pregnancy, cowboy romance, small town, he is her boss. I devoured it in less than 24 hours.
Devney Perry is slowly becoming one of my favorite authors. I started by reading Indigo Ridge and I fell in love with her writing.
Sunlight by Devney Perry is a cowboy romance novel. Set in Montana, the story follows Jax Haven and Sasha Vaughn as they each navigate through their own personal challenges
Sunlight takes place seven years after the first book in the Haven Ranch series, Crossroads. We get a glimpse at West and Indya, the family they’ve created and the progression and success of the Haven Ranch since it was sold to Indya and Jax became part-owner.
Sasha flees to Montana, where she becomes the manager for The Haven River Ranch, while Indya is on maternity leave with her second child. In the end, after attempting to stay away from Jax, Sasha’s life is flipped upside down when she realizes that she is pregnant after her and Jax had a ‘one night stand’.
Overall, Sunlight was my favorite book in the series simply because I love Jax. I enjoyed the banter between the two main characters. I enjoyed how Devney executed the accidental pregnancy trope so well. Overall, I enjoyed the main characters and their chemistry. It felt real.
The emotions were raw. Walls were brought down, which led to a very happy ending between the two main characters.

Thank you Valentine PR, Devney Perry and NetGalley for an opportunity at an eARC. I absolutely adored this Cowboy Romance and love story.
Devney Perry never fails to captivate me, and "Sunlight" is no exception! “Sunlight” stole my heart with its flawless combination of cowboy charm, unexpected pregnancy, and workplace romance.
Sasha, fleeing her past, finds solace managing Jax's family ranch in Montana. Their chance encounter in a grocery store sparks an undeniable connection. When a one-night stand leads to pregnancy, Sasha tries to push Jax away, but he's determined to break down her walls.
What drew me in:
- Devney Perry's exquisite storytelling
- The slow reveal of Sasha's past, keeping me guessing
- Jax's transformation from playboy to devoted partner
- The perfect blend of passion and emotional depth
Sasha and Jax's chemistry is off the charts, but it's their emotional connection that truly shines. Both have experienced abandonment, making trust a challenge. Together, they heal and find love.
The epilogue beautifully wraps up their story, leaving some threads open for the next book. I highly recommend!
Jax Haven is pure heaven. I Really loved how charming he was and his chemistry with Sasha was hot but they equally shared emotional connection as well.
I Really loved and enjoyed reading the book. You can always count on Devney Perry to deliver unforgettable stories. A Five Star read.
Love Sasha and Jax story. The heroine has secret. She did not leave sunny California to small town MT for no reason. Sasha landed a job at Haven River Ranch for a short time. She plans on working hard and keep on the down low until she moves on. Sasha’s plan went to hell when she got into a tug-of-war over grocery cart and Jax came to her rescue. They had a nice walk home but when Sasha found out Jax is her sort-of-boss she vowed to stay clear of him. Sasha’s plan work well until the night of the annual Christmas party. A few champagne glasses later, Sasha and Jax can no longer pretend and ignore each other. The chemistry took over and wham bam they ended up with a surprise. I really like the surprise pregnancy trope and especially with the hot protective hero. Sasha has some family issue she has to deal with. Jax also has to content with his traditional grandparents and all the siblings. The unexpected news change Jax life for the better as well – single playboy days are no longer :) The only thing with Sasha and Jax is that they spent quite a bit of time apart than together, not really until he end. I enjoy the small town and the old gangs. Over all, enjoyable and heartwarming read.
my god devney does accidental pregnancy SO well! I was sooooo excited for this book after reading crossroads and this did not disappoint! I hope we get more from this series!

I knew the moment Jax was introduced in Crossroads with his complicated past I had to have his book. I’m so happy he got his HEA and Sasha was the most perfect heroine for him. She has been through so much and the way that Devney Perry captured the sadness of her situation and the isolation she feels was so raw. They’re faced with a crazy unexpected situation, but they handled it together with such grace and understanding. I think accidental pregnancy can be a tricky trope to get right, but I believed in their connection and chemistry from the beginning and I knew they could face any and all troubles. This was just so emotional and heartfelt and I loved the way Jax met Sasha where she was and didn’t push too hard. Sasha grows so much and I loved the way she fell in love with Jax while falling in love with Montana, and finally finding a place she truly belongs. The writing is just so good and had me entranced the whole time. It’s also been 7 years since Crossroads, so I loved seeing West and Indya and the their little family. The ending honestly made me shed a tear, and I just love Haven River Ranch.

Another amazing story by Devney Perry. I am so
grateful to have been able to read this prior to its release date. I adored Crossroads and just could not wait to return to Haven River Ranch. I adore the characters in this book. This was my first accidental pregnancy book and I was not sure how I would feel about it but the author did a fantastic job and I loved it. I felt so many emotions reading this book and it definitely had some deeper storylines. Highly recommend!!
Devney does such an amazing job job at writing characters that feel like real, flawed human beings. This book was so good, I couldn’t put it down!
Thank you Devney Perry and Valentine PR for the advanced reader copy in exchange for my honest opinion!
