General Thoughts: Such a cute book. I was in the mood for a lighthearted, funny, quirky, low-angst romcom. And this one perfectly fits the bill. This is the second book I've read by Pippa Grant, and it definitely won't be the last. This Hallmark Romeo & Juliet book is set in a town that is Christmas year-round. If that doesn't catch your fancy, then I don't know what would.

I enjoyed the antics between the FMC/MMC. It was a really enjoyable, cute read. I can't wait to read more by this author. It was a delight.

This book was so much fun! I loved the Christmas town vibes so much!

One of my favorite parts of the story was that Dane and Amanda are from rival families but have had a crush on each other for years. It really made the chemistry/tension betweent he two that much more present!

I was cracking up throughout the book with the antics between the families and the main characters! It was definitely more lighthearted, but still had some substance with the families not getting along.

I really hope we get to see more from Tinsel!

Firstly, this would make a fantastic Netflix/Amazon special (especially at Christmas)!

Desperate times call for desperate measures for Amanda & Dane, and nothing less than a fake wedding may start to heal the breach between feuding families in their Christmas-themed hometown, Tinsel. With a perfect balance of steam and romance, a hilariously lazy doggy sidekick, and a cast of bickering relatives, this is a fabulous small-town, quasi-enemies-to-lovers romp!

One of my favourite features of this book was the welcome absence of unnecessary angst; the tension and emotion were written in a realistic and relatable way, despite the (addictive) Hallmark-esque plot (which I adored). Short, sweet, and ever so satisfying.

This was a very cute and sweet fake engagement romance. In a Romeo and Juliet meets Christmas Hallmark romance, Amanda and Dane are both TRYING to repair the riffs in their families, as well as figure out what the feud even started about. I didn't realize this book would have so many summer Christmas vibes (since the cover doesn't elude to it) but with a town named Tinsel, if was pretty dang cute. And the families are rival bakers - gingerbread versus fruit cake. The romance was cute, but I think all the overarching family drama overshined the romance. Also, I know its needed for the drama...but the immaturity of all these adults in both families was a dash too much for me.

I really enjoyed the audiobook, but thats because I always enjoy hearing CJ Bloom and Connor Crais's voices narrate! Connor's special voice for the extended epilogue may have been my favorite part though 🤣

“I’m not supposed to fall for my fake fiancée. This isn’t part of the plan.”

The Fake Wedding Project was an adorable, fun and lighthearted read. When Amanda and Dane fake a relationship to end the feud between their two families, hilarious antics ensue as they try to force their families to be civil to one another. These two are both extremely likeable characters that you can’t help but root for and their slow burn, fake engagement was a lot of fun to watch develop.

“He makes my entire being float. Makes me believe there’s nothing I can’t do. That everything I am is perfect, just as I am.”

The charming banter and flirty chemistry between Dane and Amanda was a delight. I loved watching them bond and form a friendship in spite of their families. Their relationship was sweet, spicy and heartfelt. Full of humor, heat, and heart, The Fake Wedding Project is a quick, easy read that will help warm your heart.

Amanda Anderson doesn’t like baking and in an attempt at being disinherited she tells a lie about being fake engaged to Dane Silver - their families have been feuding for nearly 6 generations. Instead of being angry, Dane doubles down and offers to help fake an engagement with her to end the ridiculous feud once and for all.

Dane and Amanda are so cute and sweet together as they team up to force their family members to end the feud. While spending a week planning a wedding and navigating feuding relatives, real feelings develop between them partly due to forced-proximity. I enjoyed watching these two get to know each other as their attraction built into some sizzling encounters.

Unlike most of Pippa’s books the storyline isn’t completely over-the-top. Some scenes are a little crazy and will have readers laughing out loud, but they propel the storyline along versus just serve as an attention grabbing stunt.

These characters are fun and completely engaging. The town of Tinsel sounds a bit magical with a year-round Christmas theme.

If you look forward to Hallmark Christmas movies like I do, then this one is for you. 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘞𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘗𝘳𝘰𝘫𝘦𝘤𝘵 takes place in Tinsel, Michigan, where it's Christmas all year long. The Andersons and Silvers have been rivals so long that no one even knows how the fued even started.

Amanda and Dane are tires of their families fighting, so they fake an engagement to bring their familes together. Dane is definitely relationship goals. I love how even their fake wedding incorporated everything Christmas!

PS: I loved the edition of Chili the laziest dog ever. Grandma Anderson was something else.

This Romeo and Juliet style story was exactly what you enjoy from Pippa Grant. Pure fun! I loved reading Amanda and Dane's love story unfold. The gambles they each took in hopes of a better way of life for everyone allowed them to fall in love with each other more and more.

I have been reading a lot of holiday romances and I'm not complaining. I'm thoroughly enjoying them and this is one of them too. I absolutely loved it.
Both Dane and Amanda are likeable and it was so sweet to watch them fall in love with each other. Their chemistry grows throughout the book and the moments, built-up tension, are well written.
This was a cutesy light read and will make your heart flutter. I was giggling from the start and it was really amazing. The plot is quite predictable but amazing.
And there is cutie lazy dog chili who'll steal your heart as well(his pov is the highlight of this book).
Loved the narration as well.
Thank you, NetGalley, Hambright pr and Pippa grant for the ALC.

This was a great book to slowly start my holiday reading. It’s Christmassy without being overly Christmas, if that makes any sense. More of a Christmas in July idea. The town of Tinsel is where it’s Christmas all year around. I loved Dane and Amanda, and all the people in town. You can expect the laughs that Pippa always brings, while they try to end their family feud!

The Fake Wedding Project by Pippa Grant is a delightful and fun romantic comedy that blends humor, family drama, and holiday cheer. The story follows Dane, who returns to his hometown, Tinsel, Michigan, for a quick visit. Things take a wild turn when Amanda, his secret high school crush, announces they’re engaged to stop their families’ long-standing feud. What starts as a fake engagement quickly leads to real feelings, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments along the way.
I loved the quirky town and the ridiculous family rivalry, which added a lot of charm to the story. Amanda’s lively personality paired with Dane’s more reserved nature made for a perfect opposites-attract romance. The slow-burn chemistry was spot on, and the fake relationship trope was done really well. Overall, it’s a light, heartwarming read that’s perfect for fans of Christmas-themed romcoms. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a fun and easy read!

I absolutely need to credit the author for making me absolutely hate Dane and Amanda’s family, especially the older generation. I wanted to chuck my kindle multiple times. They do mostly redeem themselves by the end of the story, but I was definitely more invested in hating them than cheering the main characters love story.

This book definitely gives Romeo and Juliet vibes, with a fake relationship, and forced proximity. A little silly at times, but I was invested in the family’s feud origins.

I would like to thank Hambright PR, Netgalley, Montlake, and Pippa Grant for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

The Fake Wedding Project is a new book by Pippa Grant. This book is described as Romeo and Juliet meets a Hallmark Christmas movie and is pretty spot on. Add in a fake engagement, only one bed, a high school crush, a plot to end a generations long feud, and a town where it is perpetually Christmas and you get a perfect storm for the romcom of the season. The Montagues and the Capulets had nothing on the Fruitcake Silvers and the Gingerbread Andersons, but no one seemed to know why the families were feuding. So Dane Silver and Amanda Anderson team up to solve the mystery and end the feud in this enemies to lovers story, which had me chortling. I loved Amanda’s vibrancy as well as her ability to recognize Dane’s need to retreat and recharge. I loved the way that even complete disasters were fun when she was involved. The chemistry was definitely at the boiling point and the slow burn was delicious. This author excels at delivering a moderately spicy novel, but the story is what takes center stage. I definitely recommend this dual POV, contemporary rom com. It is a quick, easy read and a delight from start to finish.

The Fake Wedding Project is a lighthearted and charming romance set in Tinsel, Michigan, a town where it’s Christmas all year round, even though the story doesn’t take place during the holiday season. The Anderson and Silver families have been feuding for generations, though no one remembers the original cause of their rivalry. When Amanda and Dane, descendants of the two families, return to town for their grandparents’ anniversary celebrations, they come up with a plan to fake an engagement in hopes of finally ending the feud.

Though the story is filled with plenty of holiday-themed backdrops, the focus is on the humorous and heartwarming antics between the two families as they constantly try to outdo one another. The romance between Amanda and Dane develops gradually, with the fake relationship providing the perfect opportunity for the two to get closer. Amanda’s witty personality contrasts with Dane’s quiet strength, and their growing bond is sweet and understated, taking a backseat to the family dynamics and the town’s elaborate wedding planning.

The fake engagement plot drives the story, and the connection between Dane and Amanda feels genuine, as they protect and stand up for each other against their competitive families. As Dane wrestles with his long-standing crush on Amanda, she begins to question what is real and what is part of their act. The story is engaging and fun, with a blend of humor, romance, and family loyalty that makes it hard to put down.

If you are looking for a fun, entertaining read that will leave you smiling look no further than The Fake Wedding Project. This is Dane Silvers and Amanda Anderson’s story set in the magical town of Tinsel, Michigan a town that celebrates the holidays all year round. A fake wedding is set up to make their families get along but what happens when real feelings come into play……One click to find out.
From the moment I picked this book up I knew I was reading something magical but it was only when the characters, their story and the town was still with me long after reading the final word did I realise just how special this book is. It’s witty, it’s fun it has wonderful characters and it’s well written but let’s be honest what’s not to love about a town called Tinsel ( I love this name) even when you visit in the middle of a scorching summer. This is romantic comedy at its best and I highly recommend it to all romance lovers.

The Fake Wedding Project takes place in a small town where it's Christmas all year round. The story doesn't take place during Christmas but since it's Christmas all year round, there are tons of Christmas stores, themes & ideas all throughout. The Andersons and The Silvers of Tinsel, Michigan have had a long standing feud for generations. At this point no one even knows why. When Amanda & Dane are both in town for their respective grandparents anniversary parties they decided to fake an engagement to see if they can end this silly feud once and for all.

This was a cute, lighthearted story that just follows the shenanigans of these two families and how much they don't like each other and are always trying to up one another. I don't feel like the romance was the focus of the book, it was more of the side plot. While the town is busy planning their wedding, Dane & Amanda slowly find themselves falling in love. Amanda was the queen of witty banter and Dane was the strong, quiet presence beside her. I did love how dedicated they were to standing up to each others families and protecting each other.

This audiobook was fantastic. CJ Bloom is fantastic at throwing out all the theatrics and emotions of this character. Connor Crais could read me the phone book and I would listen to him all day long. This was a great pairing for this story.

What to expect:
-Friends brother
-Christmas themed town
-Fake engagement
-Friends to lovers
-Cute, lazy dog named Chili
-Dual POV

Overall, I'd give this one a 3.5/5, but the audio a 5/5. This one comes out October 8. Thank you Pippa Grant, Hambright PR, Netgalley & Brilliance Audio for this ARC/ALC.

Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. These opinions are completely my own.

I wanted to like this novel as it contained love friction, baked goods and a dog. Sadly I just could not get into it. I think it was a little too Hallmark for my liking. Luckly most people love Hallmark films so I believe the majority of readers will like it.

This was such a cute story! I loved this whole idea of rival families that have no clue how the rivalry started in a Christmas town that leads to a fake dating/engagement, it led to so many fun moments and was absolutely adorable.

I also loved that Dane had this unrequited crush on Amanda. He was all in just to help her and he was so sweet. Even when their plan went to crap (what felt like a few times) he was there by her side. I just loved him. Amanda was great too, I loved her friendship with Lorelei to pieces and how Chili took to her. Also, also, Chili gets a POV and it's amazing 😂

The audio book was so good. I loved listening to Connor Crais and CJ Bloom narrate this story. They are two of my favorites and together they made this such a fun listen.

What options do 2 people have when they're exhausted by their family's constant conflicts? Pretending to be engaged is one solution, but does this typically lead to genuine romantic feelings between the individuals involved?

This story had a wonderful, well-paced slow burn romance with plenty of funny moments, angst, tension, and witty banter.

This charming story had me hooked from start to finish, providing a thoroughly entertaining listening experience. The epilogue, in particular, was laugh-out-loud funny. I wholeheartedly recommend this book, whether in audio or print form, as a delightful, feel-good read perfect for when you need a lighthearted pick-me-up.

Fortunately, this modern take on Romeo and Juliet avoids the classic tale's tragic ending.
