I really, really enjoyed Sue Watsons psychological thriller You, Me, Her.
Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for an ALC. The book was narrated by Tamsin Kennard, Tamsin did a great job narrating.
I gave it 4 stars because the final line in the book had me wanting more! I would have liked for it to be resolved.

You, Me, Her is available now!

This was the audio book version and I absolutely loved this book. Kept me guessing the whole way through.
I loved the narrators which I think can make or break an audio book. I would love to read or listen to more by this author

Sorry but the audiobook's narrator just made me fall asleep whenever I tried listening to🥱I am sure the physical copy would be great to read, so I will read that in the forseeable future and maybe rewrite this review after finishing it. Thankyou to Netgalley, the Author, and the Publisher for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It’s not really a mystery thanks to the synopsis, but it did make a decent thriller!

Set in a seaside town we meet a very nice, not very bright FMC. She is moving into a house with her Husband Tom and their son, using money from her inheritance, they are able to buy a sizable home and nice things, but eventually money runs out, and so does the patience of Chloe, the infamous Her.

It’s not much of a mystery, as I said, since the synopsis gives most away, but I did think it was a nice thriller, I was spooked a couple times. But I think that is mostly because I have a very niche phobia, which is seeing ANYTHING through a window when it’s dark outside, big nope for me! I’m not sure it would be as spooky for someone else though lol

The end was kind of a surprise? I guessed the ending, but to be honest the clues had to be pretty blaring in order for the FMC to figure it out, it was a lot of “Hm that’s suspicious…well…anyway let’s go swim, Sam!” And then ended up getting tons of context told to her by other people.
3 ⭐️’s.

Thank you to the Author, Sue Watson, for writing this and sharing it with me. Along with the Narrator, Tamsin Kennard, for the great voice work.

Big Thank You to Bookouture and NegGalley for my no cost Audiobook copy of “You, Me, Her”.

This drama family thriller audiobook will keep you on the edge of your seat with its compelling and intricate plot. From the start, the story pulls you into a world of family secrets, intense emotions, and unexpected twists.

As the narrative unfolds, you'll find yourself engrossed in the complex relationships and dark mysteries that drive the plot. Each twist and turn is carefully crafted to surprise and engage, making it a thrilling experience that’s hard to put down.

The narration brings the characters and story to life, adding depth and suspense to every twist. If you're looking for a gripping tale filled with dramatic turns and family intrigue, this audiobook is sure to captivate you from beginning to end.

This book left a bit to be desired in the depth department. There is potential for a poignant storyline, but if feels like the author never dug deep enough into the characters to communicate that to the reader. It seems that in the attempt to write a fast-paced thriller, something has been lost, and I'm uncertain how to recover it. I'll be listening to more of Watson's efforts for comparison.

I adore psychological thrillers and was thrilled to get the audio book ARC via netgalley. This book, however, missed the mark. Frustrating and naive characters, blatantly obvious "twists", and silly foreshadowing. I can't say much more without spoiling it for anyone that can't predict it all. I'll just say I did not enjoy it.

this was fun but very predictable. Maybe I’ve just read too many thrillers but I could predict 50% of the story… it didn’t help that the main character was in denial and pretty stupid (im sorry!) the plottwist wasn’t surprising to me since I’d already guessed most of it tbh.

However the writing style was easy to follow along which I appreciated. I would have liked to have more POV’s!

3/5 for me.

Story Review / Summary:
You, Me, Her is medium - fast faced thriller about Tom(YOU) and Rachel(ME), a couple who moves from Manchester to Cornwall after Rachel gets her inheritance from her father. Rachel befriends a neighbor named Chloe(HER) who Tom is not a fan of.

Someone ends up dead and someone finds the body and someone is arrested for the murder.
Wow, got me at the end! I do wish there was more of an explanation at the end. Felt more like a cliffhanger and this is a standalone book.

Narration Review:
All narration was completed by Tamsin. I personally prefer when there is more than one narration voice.

‘Me’ is Rachel, married to ‘You’ , Tom and ‘Her’, estate agent and Rachels new friend, Chloe. After inheriting a large sum of money from Rachels father, under the proviso Tom is not to have access to it, they couple move to the seaside into a house that needs renovation. Tom is away on business and Rachel strikes up a friendship with Chloe, even though Tom warned her she is dangerous. Rachel starts hearing noises in the house, finding items and receiving notes. All very suspicious and single white female-eque.
A quick paced thriller that centres around money and what people are willing to do for it. The usual twists and turns that keep you guessing throughout. An enjoyable read.

This had some fun twists and kept you guessing! While I think I've read a similar plot a time or two, it still kept me interested and I enjoyed listening. The narrator did a good job.

You, Me, Her is a mystery thriller that keeps the reader on edge till the end.

Though I must have read too many thrillers already, because from the very start of the book I could guess what was going on in the book or maybe I have read something similar.

Even then it kept me interested throughout the book. It never got boring the way it is written and almost all chapters ended on a cliffhanger so it made the story gripping.

Only thing that made me roll my eyes was Rachel the main character's engagement with Chloe even with all the red flags from the very start. It was unbelievably stupid most of the times even though I could resonate her thought process but the way she kept accepting reasons for other people's behaviour, not just Chloe but her own husband Tom was making me furious. How dumb you can be to trust people so easily and then when doubts arise, letting all the reasons go down the drain as soon as the person in front started getting angry? It was really getting on my nerves the whole time.

Audiobook narration is really good and it helped me keep myself engaged throughout the ride.

Book rating : 3.5 stars
Audiobook : 4 stars

I'm not sure you can keep your enemy any closer than Rachel does in this gripping tale. Rachel is a trusting soul and with a husband that is often travelling for work and a best friend that lives far away, she is eager to make new friends in her new community. There is a shocking twist at the end that you will NOT see coming!

And worst of all the house has a pool. Tom is intent that their son Sam knows how to swim. So without anyone knowing Rachel teaches herself how to swim and contour her fear. Wow, I really enjoyed this one. These types of domestic thrillers where you don't know who to trust or what each character's motives are, are my absolute favorite types of thrillers to read because they're so relatable in some ways but also make you realize how normal your own marriage is in comparison. I was completely sucked into this and read the book in a day. I thought the conclusion was such karmic justice and just absolutely perfect. This was one of my favorite thrillers I've read in a long time. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
