I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. This is a great concise guide that provides parents with some important and reassuring information without overwhelming parents with jargon or references.
I absolutely recommend this book, WHAT MATTERS? to accompany all of you who are at home with babies and small children, using belonging and behaviour together for resilient wellbeing and mental health. Dr Rosemary Roberts is such a wonderful author to make this book in a very practical way to help us.
What use is a review if it does not inform other readers?
With this in mind, for my personal taste, this book was short for what it is intended for.
But, this is a good resource, written with good-intentions by an expert, and could be an informative read for new parents, and for those wanting to organise their thoughts and life about how to make the most of their time with young children. In that case, the length and the complexity level of this book might come in handy. Each chapter answers a few important questions and focuses on what matters: the wellbeing of babies, children, their carers and families. A nice reminder, overall.
