A Worthy 5* Review

Adalyn a strong independent woman full of inner strength and committed to doing right even though sometimes it didn’t look that way had a secret passion for Rowan!

Rowan needed to redeem himself with Adalyn. He had always had a thing for her but now working together he was determined to take things further and to convince her they should be together.

A fantastic action packed story with lots of suspense and mystery which will keep you guessing until the end!

Add in Adalyn and Rowan’s love story with lots of well loved characters and this makes for one amazingly fantastic read.

I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The price you pay...

Adalyn is a strong protagonist and because of that, she pays the price for her work first at the CIA and at RHS. She took the blame for trusting someone she shouldn't and a marine team ended up dead. Rowan blames her for the loss of his team.

But when Adalyn's sister's roommate ends up dead, Adalyn and the RHS team, including Rowan head to NOLA, during Mardi Gras to suss out the killer who is coming for Adalyn and her family.

Lot's of suspense, lots of people blaming Adalyn and a dollop of steam.
Recommend.

This is the third in the Redemption Harbor Security series. This book has suspense, action, romance and some great characters. Reus had me engage right from the beginning and I also enjoy the recurring characters that I can catch up on as I read each book in the series. There were plenty of twists and turns in this story that kept you guessing until the end if they would find the person threatening Adalyn. Adalyn and Rowan have a history from when Rowan was in the marines and a job went wrong because Adalyn trusted someone she shouldn’t have. Rowan didn’t forgive Adalyn right away but now they work for the same company. After just finishing an assignment Adalyn gets a call from her sister telling her that her best friend was murdered. Adalyn flies down to New Orleans to comfort her sister but ends up receiving a text that the killer was stalking Adalyn. Adalyn boss sends down a team to help Adalyn and to put her sister into a safe house. This is when the adventure begins, and the romance starts with Rowan and Adalyn. I highly recommend this book and especially the series. Thank you to Netgalley and KR Press, LLC for providing an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

An enemy from her past is targeting those she loves.

Adalyn has just completed an op with her team at Redemption Harbor Security, and is looking forward to a shower and a good night’s sleep when she gets a call from her sister Fleur, an artist who still lives in New Orleans where they were raised. Fleur’s roommate was just killed outside their townhouse, and Fleur is devastated. Adalyn heads straight for her…and straight into danger. An anonymous text lets her know that Fleur was the intended target of the attack, and that whoever is behind it wants to punish Adalyn for something that she once did. Given Adalyn’s past career as an intelligence officer with the CIA, there are certainly many people who might want to extract payment from her, but they shouldn’t have been able to find her. The RHS crew arrive to keep her and Fleur safe and to help Adalyn track down whoever is behind the threats, including someone who until recently had himself blamed Adalyn for the deaths of his Marine team years earlier…Roman. As threats and attacks increase, and the attraction between Roman and Adalyn mounts as well, will the skilled operatives from RHS identify and neutralize the the danger to Adalyn and those in her life, or will more have to die?
This is the fourth in author Katie Reus’ Redemption Harbor Security series, which is itself a spinoff from her Redemption Harbor series, but it is not necessary to have read prior installments in order to enjoy this entry….it reads well as a standalone. With a take-charge, kickass heroine and the strong warrior who loves her, this is action-packed romantic suspense that will keep the reader turning the pages until the very end. Adalyn and Roman each have emotional baggage that has kept them apart for years, but Roman is done waiting. Each suffer from things they have done in the past, and regrets about choices made. They have recently started to work well as a team, and this mission is forcing them to deal with the those issues, with some help from their RHS “family”. Perfect for readers of Alexandra Ivy, Rebecca Zanetti and Susan Stoker, Fighting for Adalyn is a fast paced story with appealing characters for whose happy ending readers can’t help but root. Many thanks to NetGalley and KR Press LLC for allowing me early access to a copy of this latest installment in a great series.

What I liked about Adalyn was her tenacity. She pushed through all of the strife in order to resolve the issues. At her side is Rowan, who had his own struggles and beliefs that needed to be addressed. Together these two had quite a few scares but also quite a few triumphs.

A third book as good as the previous ones !

After the glimpses we had of Adalyn and Rowan in the previous book, I was very excited to see how Rowan and Adalyn would move beyond their shared past ! And it was GREAT ! The setting of New Orleans was perfect, the romance was sexy and fun and the plot was twisted with an ending that I didn't see it coming ><

In short, a sexy and gripping suspense romance to devour without moderation !

I really enjoyed Fighting for Adalyn. Rowan and Adalyn were the couple I didn't know I needed.

I think this book is one of Katie's best. Adalyn is a strong and competent character. Her and Rowan have good chemistry and this book included tension and some well deserved groveling which is an element I really enjoy. Rowan was in awe of Adalyn's strength and was determined to crack through her exterior and he wanted to be the person she let take care of her. He learned from his past mistakes. Adalyn pushed him away and had her walls raised which made sense given their baggage but they both worked on their relationship and were able to be vulnerable with each other. I think there was a good balance between suspense and the romance aspect as well. I will probably go back and reread some of their parts in Fighting for Reese.

This can be read as a standalone without issues, but I would recommend the whole series for maximum enjoyment. I love how Katie brings in past characters and how readers get to catch up with them. That and the found family aspect make this series really special. Every book with Skye is already off to a great start for me. Everything about this book coupled with the setting of New Orleans made it a great read for me.

I really enjoyed reading, Fighting for Adalyn. Adalyn is a badass Heroine. She doesn't need Rowan's help but is very grateful for it. Her whole team steps up to help her get revenge and find the bad guys. This book has nonstop suspense and the romance is nice also.

Fighting for Adalyn is Redemption Harbor Security Book #3 by the amazing Katie Reus who certainly knows how to write romantic suspense. She brought her “A” game with this 3rd book in this spin-off series of the Redemption Harbor Series with Rowan and Adalyn. As with all the other series, we get to revisit some of our favorite couples which is one of the reasons I so much enjoy reading this author’s work. I’m very fond of found families and everything I’ve read of hers (which is just about everything she’s written) has a foundation set on the found families these characters found themselves gathered up in. It’s the “always have your back” aspect, as well as the suspense and drama of these stories that pull me in. These characters go the extra mile for each other and really love on one another. This one had my heart in my throat more times than I can count! If you like nail-biting, edge of your seat action and adventure with really cool protective characters, both male and female, you’ll relish reading these books. Rowan and Adalyn brought quite a bit of baggage into their relationship but acted and reacted like mature adults – another facet I enjoy about Ms. Reus’ writing – no unnecessary immature angst. This story really moves so be ready to set aside some time because you’ll not want to put it down. All that said, it’s definitely a standalone but like all of her series, I would suggest reading them all because it makes the experience all that more enjoyable! Another 5+ star read. I’m grateful to have been given an opportunity to read an advance copy of this book through NetGalley.

Fighting for Adalyn (Redemption Harbor Security, #3) by Katie Reus
This is another great Redemption Harbor book. Adalyn and Rowan have a ton of baggage from a opp that went bad. There is angst, deception, murder, evil, forgiveness, lots of twists and turns, romance, steam, all to get us to a HEA.
Reasons I enjoyed this book:
Action-packed Easy-to-read Entertaining Great world building Haunting Happily Ever After Informative Page-turner Romantic Scary Steamy Tear-jerker Tragic Unpredictable Witty Wonderful characters.

Adalyn is a CIA operative and working with a bunch of Marines in Afghanistan. She put too much of trust in her informant and a team of good soldiers paid the price. Now years later she works for Redemption Harbor Security and her past has come back to haunt her. She gets a call from her sister that her friend and roommate was killed in front of their home. Then she gets pictures of the murder and the killer thinks he killed her sister. Adalyn heads to New Orleans to protect her sister in case the killer realizes he killed the wrong woman. She calls in help from her teammates and Rowan shows up.
Rowan is a former marine and it was his team that got killed. He hated Adalyn until he realizes what she did to get revenge on the one who betrayed her. Rowan will help Adalyn no matter how much she protests. With Adalyn’s family in the crossfire and her old haunts being blown up it’s a race against the clock. Now they must find the killer before he kills one more person.
Great story. Enemies to lovers. A crazed killer. New Orleans. A cute pup. Two people that carry a lot of guilt find love.

Someone is out for revenge and has Adalyn and anyone close to her in their cross hairs. This book has a good plot, interesting characters, romance and a mystery that will catch your interest and just when you think it’s solved the other shoe drops. This book is part a series but it can stand on its own. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Katie never ever disappoints in her books. Suspense is definitely her jam and mine too. The characters, the action, the banter and the love is so on point that I find it hard to put a book down once I begin reading. This book has a lot of emotions and wicked banter. Rowan and Adalyn are so well written and such engaging characters. Amazing, once agin!

This is a Romantic Suspense, and this is the third book in the Redemption Security series. I have read the second book in this series before picking up this book. This book is full of suspense and action. I loved the connection the two main characters had, and I also enjoyed them fighting the connection. The storyline had me pulled into it, and I really enjoyed the ride this book took me on. I received an ARC of this book. This review is my own honest opinion about the book like all my reviews are.

Title: Fighting for Adalyn by Katie Reus

Release Date: May, 28th, 2024

3.5 Stars

Adalyn faces the consequences of trusting the wrong person, leading to the deaths of innocent people. Despite achieving justice for her mistake, the past resurfaces as an enemy seeks revenge. Adalyn's sister becomes a target, and the enemy uses the chaos of Mardi Gras in New Orleans to carry out his plans.

Rowan, a former Marine who harbors resentment toward Adalyn, learns the truth about her actions and joins forces with her to stop the impending threat. Racing against time, they must unravel the enemy's identity and motives before he wreaks havoc on the city and puts their lives in danger.

Book 3 of this spinoff series is a rollicking good time, though it hits a speed bump in the middle. While it stands strong on its own, having read the previous books, especially book 2, enhances the enjoyment. Some of the tension feels a bit misplaced since the main characters have already resolved their conflict by the story's start.
However, Adalyn's competence and resilience shine brightly, and Rowan's admiration for her strengths adds depth to their dynamic. That said, readers might wish for a more fleshed-out storyline between the two protagonists. Nevertheless, the book offers an exhilarating and suspenseful ride, complete with unexpected twists and turns that will keep readers thoroughly entertained.

3.5 stars

Book 3 in this spinoff series is fun, evergreen if it drags a little in the middle. While it can be read as a standalone, reading the previous novels, especially book 2, would be helpful. It's a little weird that a big part of the tension happens in that book instead of here. More specifically, even though this book's blurb mentions that Rowan hated Adalyn, by the time you start this book, that's water under the bridge, at least for Rowan. If you're reading the series closer together, it's fine, but it might seem like something is missing if you haven't read the previous book recently or at all.

So in the end, there's not a lot of tension between Rowan and Adalyn aside from her pushing him away by threatening to punch him (that got old). Otherwise, I like that Adalyn is supremely competent even at the most fraught of times, and it's great that Rowan finds her strength attractive. I guess I just wish there was more to their story?

I received an ARC of this book for free from the publisher and Netgalley. I'm writing this review voluntarily, and it reflects my honest opinion. Thanks!

I received an arc from NetGalley and this is my honest opinion.

Adalyn receives a call from her sister that her sisters friend was shot. As Adalyn finds more information about the shooting she realizes someone is using her sister to get to her. Rowan comes in and goes in protective mode. He is not going to let Adalyn out of his sight this time.

Fast paced read with lots of action, suspense and romance.
