✨ Hunted By Wolves and Shadow by Jo Holloway is an enchanting tale that whisked me away into a world of magic, shadows, and unexpected romance! From the very first page, I was completely captivated by the thrilling energy and the captivating dynamics between the characters! 🐺💖

Emi, our fiery heroine with a witchy lineage, finds herself drawn to her grandmother’s cottage, but this time, things feel different—more mysterious and dangerous. I absolutely loved her strength and determination as she navigates the eerie Mist that seems to have a life of its own. When she encounters Wolf, a fierce and brooding character with a mission to hunt her kind, the tension sparkles off the pages! Talk about a rocky start to a relationship! 😱🔥

The chemistry between Emi and Wolf is electric, and I couldn’t help but root for them despite their opposing backgrounds. Wolf is a complex character—a monster seeking redemption, forced into a role he may not even want. His inner struggle and protective instincts add such depth to the story, making his bond with Emi feel all the more compelling. 💕🌟

I loved how Holloway weaves together themes of trust, redemption, and the power of love amidst the backdrop of a mystical, haunted forest. Emi’s journey of uncovering her family’s sordid truth contrasted beautifully with Wolf’s quest for closure and protection for his own found family. The emotional stakes are high, and it makes you ponder whether love can truly bridge the gap between two worlds that seem destined to clash. 🌌💔

What I found particularly delightful was how the plot gracefully blended suspense with moments of heartfelt connection. As Emi and Wolf are forced to team up against the dangers lurking outside, the developing relationship between them unfolds like a delicate dance—both hesitant yet drawn to each other in ways they never expected! Jo Holloway's writing is vivid and immersive, painting a lush magical landscape that had me feeling like I was right there with them, caught in the Mist and facing the unknown! 🌧️✨

Overall, Hunted By Wolves and Shadow is a beautifully crafted fantasy romance that is a must-read for anyone who loves stories filled with magic, danger, and the power of unlikely connections! If you enjoy tales that explore the dynamic between monsters and witches with a sprinkle of romance, then you’re in for a treat! 📚💖

Hunted by Wolves and Shadow by @author_joholloway

A cozy retelling of Little Red Riding Hood filled with shifters, witches, good vs evil, found family and one mean granny who has cursed the lands. It was quick paced, but easy to follow, which made for a fun little read. This classic fairytale now has a little bit of spice and a whole lot of sweet genuine love.

“HUNTED BY WOLVES AND SHADOW is one of ten books in the Enemies Ever After series, a collection of standalone short novels featuring enemies-to-lovers fairy tale retellings with a touch of steam!” I can’t wait to read more!

A wolf. A witch. And the curse that binds them.

Emi has visited Grandma’s cottage often before, but this time the Mist is thicker, the beasts are too close… And the handsome stranger who answers her frantic knock is definitely NOT her Grandma Ruby.

Wolf was supposed to end the curse plaguing his found family. Instead, the forest feels more menacing than ever when a fiery redhead comes screaming out of the Mist.

Trapped together by the dangers outside the door, Emi and Wolf find unexpected flames sparking between them. Until the explosive truth comes out.

He’s a monster in need of redemption.

She’s a witch out for revenge.

Neither trusts the other, but if they hope to break free from the Mist, they’ll have to work together. As they each face their pasts, question long-held beliefs, and fight inconvenient attraction, Emi and Wolf will have to learn to trust their hearts. Because the fate of every cursed shifter in the forest depends on it...

This is my first retelling of little red riding hood, and i really enjoyed it. I loved that it had the basis of the original but that there were so many fresh twists. The magic system was really well done and i liked the concept of the gemstone powers. I really liked the relationship between Emerald and Wolf and thought that it was sweet how protective he was of her. I also enjoyed the cast of secondary characters and found them to be really fun as far as their animal counterparts. The curse was really neat and i liked the way that it was set up for the plot. This was a really fun fast paced retelling and I can't wait to read what is next from Holloway.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Hunted by Wolves and Shadow is a Red Riding Hood retelling with dark twists and spice.
Emi sets off to visit her grandmother through the mist that engulfs the forest for as long as she can remember. But this time, it's thick and ominous and obscures the path to the cottage. When Emi gets chased by a huge beast and finally reaches the cottage, she meets a hot male called Wolf, but her grandmother is nowhere to be seen. When she discovers that her grandmother was a witch (and an evil one, too) and then learns Wolf killed her, Emi wants to kill him, and the pair find themselves shut up together in the same place out of the mists reach.
I was drawn to this book for the Enemies to Lovers trope, and it didn't disappoint. Emis journey is filled with self-discovery and enlightenment, and the growth of her character from the start to the end of the book was beautiful. It's definitely a book to read if you love retellings, shifter-romance, and enemies to lovers like myself.

This was my first Jo Holloway book, and I'm obsessed. I will definitely be going back and reading their backlist of books.

This Red Riding Hood retelling with a twist is by far one of my favorite retellings I have read to date. The story is similar enough to the original to tell which story its from yet unique enough to be new fun and exciting to read.

The world building & character development is beautiful descriptive and immersive. The tension and build up to the intimacy of the main characters was paced out perfectly for a beautiful climax.

This ARC read from NETGALLEY was a delight to read. This is an honest review posted voluntarily.

This was an interesting retelling of Red Hiding Hood. It was close enough to the original story to make me nostalgic. However, had enough different that it was a new story and twist. I think the author did a fabulous job bringing this all together.

This novel is an exciting, action-packed fantasy that seamlessly blends danger, magic, and heart. Holloway’s world-building is captivating, with vivid landscapes and a gripping sense of mystery surrounding the wolves and shadows that lurk within. The characters are complex and compelling, particularly the strong, resilient protagonist whose journey is both thrilling and emotional. Fans of dark fantasy with rich lore and fast-paced adventure will find this book impossible to put down for sure.

This was an interesting and fresh retelling of Red hiding Hood, where she falls for the wolf, even if their people are kind of mortal enemies.
I loved all the scenes of the main couple together, they had so much chemistry!! Their sarcastic conversation and flirting while fighting was the best part of the book for me. I wish we could have seen more Worldbuilding.

Run by Blake Crouch is an intense, fast-paced thriller that grabs your attention from the start, but it ultimately needs to catch up to its full potential.

The book opens with a gripping premise: a strange phenomenon triggers a violent, apocalyptic scenario, turning ordinary people into dangerous predators. The tension is palpable as the Hayes family races to survive, and Crouch's writing keeps the stakes high.
However, while the action is relentless and the pace rarely lets up, the plot becomes repetitive, and the characters need more depth to create a real emotional connection. The apocalyptic event's central mystery is intriguing but underdeveloped, which may leave some readers craving more explanation.

For those who relish high-octane thrillers, Run is a rollercoaster ride of adrenaline. It's a book that's more about the thrilling journey than a profound impact. If you're a fan of survival stories, this book is a must-read, but it's not likely to revolutionize the genre.

This is a really fun take on "Little Red Riding Hood". It was a cute, fun, not so serious read. The magic was fairly interesting, and Wolf was a pretty fun character. Over-all, a great read if you want something fun!

honestly I can't really say that this book blew me away. It lack something. The plot however was perfect as well as the pacing, everything seemed to move and progress just right, there were plenty of twists and turns, and i wasn't really bored, it was just missing the background detail that would have made this a knock out book for me. I mean that there were a lot of times i couldn't really imagine what characters and places looked like because there wasn't too much of a description, just a general overview.Overall, i did enjoy this book, i just know that it could have been even better.

I love when books are a retelling but this book just didn’t do it for me. I feel as though certain eliminates could’ve been added in and that this felt a little bit rushed. Overall the book was okay but I wasn’t really wowed by it.

I really tried to push through this one but I just couldn’t. I dnf at 33%. It sounded like it was going to be a fun and interesting read if not a lil spicy but so far I’m just kind of underwhelmed and confused. Them being stuck together in the cabin where her grandmother lived and there being I don’t know this sexual tension but not between them but they also hate each other because of what she’s meant to be but doesn’t know she is but he won’t explain it to her and then her hatred for him cause of her grandmother but she still desires him while wanting to kill him. It’s all very confusing and as much as I try to connect with the story I just can’t. I feel the characters are very 2 dimensional and the plot is just odd. There’s so many different concepts that are trying to be shoved into it that it’s just hard to keep the dots connected. Not to mention her sad little attempts at killing him instead of fleeing and taking her chances in the woods with the beasts out there I mean does she really think she’ll succeed in killing him ? I mean really ? I try my best not to dnf books that often but I’ve been struggling so bad with this one that I just can’t continue to push myself through it.
