Very sweet, inspiring story about following your dreams, using your skills and helping people. The artwork was so lovely, and my kid very much enjoyed any time he got to shout "Horse Thunder!" when Rosie was stomping at speed.

Since my granddaughter's name is Rosie, I had to read this book. It was the best children's picture book I've read in 2024. The illustrations were lovely, the story was engaging and the characters were endearing. I highly recommend this book full of determination and optimism for your home library!
I have a horse loving 5 year old that was all about this story. She kept asking if we could read it again. I loved the lessons that she was learning through fun characters she adored.
Rosie's Wild Ride by Paige Murray is a super sweet children's book for ages 4 to 8 years old. Rosie is a big Clydesdale horse helping out on the farm, but she has big dreams of being a rodeo star. The little girl, Oakley, who lives on the farm has the same dream. They practice for the rodeo, but things don't go as planned when a rowdy bull escapes and Rosie and Oakley have to come to the rescue. This is a precious story for kids and shows them know that there isn't a dream too big as long you work hard and work as a team. It's a good lesson for kids when they think they can't do something and teaches them what if you can!! The characters are based off of the authors family and farm. I enjoyed the facts at the end of the book about Clydesdale horses and the rodeo. 5 stars, indeed! Thank you to Net Galley and publisher for the chance to read this arc!!
An absolutely wonderful story for the little cowgirl and cowboys in your world. Rosie is a Clydesdale horse. She and her friend Oakley love the rodeo and want to become rodeo stars. However, rodeo events aren’t really created for horses as big as Rosie. Then when a rogue bull threatens to ruin the day, Rosie and Maria come to the rescue. This was an adorable way to show little ones about courage, believing in themselves and friendship. The illustrations are so wonderful and bright. Your family will love this story. A wonderful way to encourage little ones who struggle to believe in themselves and to try new things. Enjoy the adventure with your family.
I absolutely LOVED this book! It was a great book overall and it showed kids to never give up, no matter the situation. This is definitely a book that all kids should read. The illustrations were great!
Wonderful book about the determination you need when you are chasing after your dreams! I love how it teaches children that no matter what people say or what is considered “normal” you can still do whatever you want in this world!
This is a fun picture book that children will love to read. My library will definitely be buying this book. I can't wait to see children love it as much as I did!
We loved this book and the flow of the story was great.
I loved the characters and how they worked together. My seven year old daughter loves Horses and we have adopted one for her s0 we guessed that this book would be a hit with her - and we weren't wrong!
The illustrations in the book were great and they brought the story to life - we really loved Rosie's Wild Ride!
I enjoyed that whilst they weren't really successful in the Rodeo, they found their niche at the end of the day and were there to save the day.
We did not hesitate in giving it 5 stars! Very highly recommended!
Clydesdales are big horses that are used for pulling. Rosie works on the farm, but dreams of being a rodeo star. She finally gets her chance when Oakley's parents want her to have a gentle horse. They practice and join the rodeo, but Rosie's size make competitions like barrel racing difficult. But the bull gets loose they need a big horse to bring him back. Oakley rides Rosie to the rescue. Without winning a single event Rosie and Oakley are the stars of the rodeo.
This book, written by the wife of rodeo star Ty Murray, features cowgirl Oakley and Rosie the Clydesdale. The Murrays really have a daughter named Oakley and a Clydesdale named Rosie. When I read that at the end of the book it made the story that much more special. I love when authors write stories that have special meaning to their family, but are also universally appealing. I think kids will love Rosie's story and the message of reaching for your dreams.
Rosie’s Wild Ride is a lovely little children’s story book with themes of perseverance and self-confidence. The illustrations are fun and the characters are relatable. The animals are personable and a fun addition to the story. My daughter enjoyed the story, but said it was sad that Rosie’s cat friend was not supportive of Rosie’s dream. However, I think that makes the story even more of a real-to-life lesson for children. Even our friends are human and are not always going to be supportive or helpful, and sometimes we do not behave the way a good friend ought to behave, either! It is a nice well written story that would be a lovely gift or a conversation starter for families.
I requested a copy of this book for review. The thoughts expressed here are wholly my own.
This story was a heartwarming tale of big dreams.
When I saw that the story was about a horse I immediately knew that my daughter would love it and I was 100% correct. She loved reading about Rosie and her Clydesdale. She loved how bright and colorful the pictures were as well as the story of Rosie doing BIG things on her horse. My daughter walked away inspired and ready to take on her next horse show!

First of all -- how cute! This was a very cute and engaging story with excellent photos and age appropriate writing style. I would say this could make a great addition to a classroom or library, as well as a personal collection for kids at home! I think my niece, age 5, would like to see this book and might read along with it listening!
This is a book about a little girl and a Clydesdale horse who both want to participate in a rodeo. Rosie is the horse and she’s a Clydesdale, considered a gentle giant and not appropriate for the rodeo. But she has a dream and a chance to live it. Things do not go as planned, but everything works out in the end. This book was lovely. The illustrations are great and overall, this was just a pleasant read that kids will love.

This book sparkles from the title page (with its disapproving cat) to the informational end (with its bit sized history and horse facts). Perfect for a high energy library story time or a one on one lap sitting read aloud between a care giver and a horse (or rodeo) focused child, the can-do attitude and persistence of Rosie and Oakley is perfectly showcased. The engaging illustrations bring both the farm and the rodeo to life, and the gentle diversity and eventual support of the crowd will draw in a variety of young readers. A great fit for any library collection! Thank you to NetGalley for access to this arc.
Super cute and heartwarming book! Both kids that do and don't adore horses will have so much fun reading this book. The story is really sweet and there is a clear plot to follow, making for an enjoyable reading experience. On top of that, the illustrations matched the cuteness level of the story itself and were colorful, adding some fun to the entire book. Additionally, nothing in the pictures looked out-of-place; every stroke of color and every detail was very intentional, which made me happy.
Lastly, Rosie's story leaves readers with an inspiring message to follow your dreams in any way you can. Rosie might not have been able to win any rodeo events, but she was strong enough to catch a bull. Kids will take this message with them beyond the end of this book, and it will make kids find their inner strength while lifting their spirits with a great story.
Bravo!

This will be going into my collection of favorites upon release. Thank you NetGalley and Zonderdkidz
