This was not what I was expecting, but it was still a good read if you like supernatural books.

Jordan is a demon hunter and is exhausted after doing it for almost two decades and puts in her notice to the Guild, but when asked to do one last mission, Jordan doesn't say no which turns out to be a mistake when her target is an innocent. Her whole belief is shaken even worse and when Grace shows up on her doorstep suddenly, she isn't sure what to believe.

Grace is in San Francisco to meet with a client to possibly ghost write his memoir, but the next day, she wakes up in a shallow grave and when she sees a light in the distance, she heads toward it hoping to find safety, but instead she finds out so much more.

I had mixed feeling in regards to this book. I enjoyed the supernatural, good vs evil, but the romantic relationship was too quick and unbelievable for me to get invested in it. The other parts of the book were interesting and Vaun obviously did her research and made it interesting, but I just couldn't get immersed into the book.

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
