Thank you Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book. These opinion are completely my own.

Crows are by far my favorite bird and this book reminded me why. Beautiful illustrations accompanied by interesting information, this book is a win. Also I have a crow nest in the back, so I'm sharing the information with my family

This book was incredibly informative. As a person who works with young children I can easily see this book being one that I present to them in a lesson about Crows. Corvids are fascinating in general and it was a delight being able to read this delightful children’s book about Crows.

My kids loved reading about crows in this book. We have a few nests near our home, but it’s fun to learn about their lifecycle. The book includes information about roosting, building nests, laying eggs, the development of baby birds, their cawing sounds, and intelligence. The illustrations are beautiful and the book is fun and educational. The only thing that I would change about it is the comparison between crows and ravens. I feel that it should come before repeating the life cycle over again. It feels out of place on the last page. It would also be interesting to include what crows eat.
Thank you NetGalley and Rowman and Littlefield Publishing for the opportunity to share this story with my children.

Crows would pair well with Cathy Carr’s 365 Days to Alaska. It’s an informational text with beautiful paintings on each page. It explains the life of crows and compares them to other corvids.

A narrative non-fiction title follows the life cycle of a crow. The author provides facts, teaches vocabulary and illustrates different aspects of a crow’s life. The last page helps readers differentiate between crows and ravens.

This would be a great addition to classrooms learning indigenous stories, such as the raven, in order to teach them similarities and differences and take a closer look at a common bird found in their own backyard.

The realistic illustrations do a lot of work in this book. The font is easy to read and understand.

A digital ARC of this book was provided by the publisher in exchange for a review. A public review was posted on StoryGraph.

My husband has a fondness of crows so when I saw this one I knew I had to request it. It was written so well especially in my opinion as a homeschooling parent. The whole time I was reading it I was thinking of little ways I could incorporate the book into a unit study with my kids. Great book with great explanations and beautiful pictures!

Beautifully illustrated, richly written, clearly organized, and intriguing, Crows: An Egg-to-Sky Story is a lovely, little non-fiction book about the noisy, intelligent birds. I hope this book will find its way into classrooms and libraries where children can read it to enrich their understanding of our interesting crow neighbors.

I love crows and this is a great overview of what makes them special. Most of the story is about the hatching and growing up of a crow’s life, which I’m sure most young readers are more interested in. I wish there was more on their behaviors and their intelligence, although some information was included toward the end. A good book to add to your library of animal facts.

A simple but beautifully illustrated book that follows the life of a crow from mating to hatching and living the nest. It gives information about behaviors specific to crows and how to distinguish crows from ravens.

If you like crows, you will love this book.
My child and I first read this at night and we realised we did not get the full experience of some darker pages, and reread it in daylight.
Glad we did, because the artwork is exquisite, and the information (this is a non-fiction book) is clear, easy-to-follow and interesting.
