This book was about Callie getting a job as a ghostwriter to write the memoir of a 90's rockstar, Riff Fall. When she gets there all her excitement leaves when some really sinister things start taking place. This book was creepy, intriguing and had me on the edge of my seat.

Like Fog creeping in on little cat paws, London Clarke's newest novel THE NIGHT SINGERS is subtly stealthy, so that the incipient terror is in your face and enwrapping you before you know it. A hawk doesn't advertise to the field mouse that's it going to pounce, nor a hungry gull to a leaping fish. Neither do the nearly implacable, ancient, ostensibly mythological entities populating this novel. Go on, find out for yourself!

This book was definitely outside of my comfort zone. I ended up really enjoying it! I have never read a book about sirens but it was the perfect amount of thrilling and creepy that it sucked me right in. It was a quick read simply because I couldn’t put it down!

The Night Singers is a thriller about a lead singer being haunted by the supernatural. Not my normal read but it was fast pace and a page turner. It kept me guessing if things in the singers life would change.

If you like stories about Sirens then this is for you. I felt there was something missing or more details needed in the story for it to feel complete.

This book had a very creepy vibe the entire way through. The characters complexity added to the intriguing plot. In my opinion I haven't seen this kind of plot done before, very unique read. It's not ofter I can find a good horror book about sirens! London pulled it off swimmingly! There are only three rules in this book. Don't go near the attic door, don't go outside after midnight, and don't ever listen to them. Could you do it??? I highly recommend this book if you love creepy horror stories without a lot of gore!

I struggled between giving this book four or five stars - it’s really right in the middle! This book is more horror and it was right up my alley. I was impressed with the creative concept - finally, something that hasn’t been done before! I flew through it and was anxious to find out how the story would conclude - the only reason I did not ultimately give it 5 stars was that the conclusion wasn’t exactly what I was looking for. Overall it is 100% worth a read for any horror enthusiast, and will make a great movie if it were ever to get that far! Give it a read! Thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review.

I’m new to this author with this book. While I didn’t find it outstanding it was enjoyable. I love a good book about sirens.
I might’ve marked it a bit higher but I didn’t really connect with the MC’s as much as I would’ve liked to,
That being said the book did go in a direction I wasn’t expecting and I’m not mad about it. I’ll certainly try another book or more by Miss Clarke

London Clarke's books contain supernatural elements, and this book was no exception. Ghostwriter Callie Rowe has just been asked to be the ghostwriter of the elusive, reclusive, and mysterious rock star, Riff Fall's memoir. Callie is no stranger to rock stars; her father was in a band, and she loves music. But when she gets to Riff's home to interview the man whose wife mysterious vanished years ago, she is met with a set of rules.

"Don’t go near the attic door.
Don’t go outside after midnight.
Don’t ever listen to them."

Strange, but doable, right? But why those rules? Rock stars are eccentric but what is going on? Who shouldn’t she listen to and why? Why has Riff never left his home? When things begin to go bump in the night, and more is revealed, she realizes that danger really is lurking, waiting, and watching.


This book is in the horror category but is more on the creepy side than the horror side, in my opinion. Things that happen are horrific but not gory. I enjoyed the sense of unease, tension, and the mounting danger in the book. Plus, this book oozes with atmosphere. It also has the isolated trapped feeling that I enjoy in books.

I first read London Clarke's work when I read The Neighbor and was excited to read this book as well. I found this book to be well written, well thought out, creepy, mysterious, dark, entertaining, and an enjoyable read.

I discovered this author quite by accident and I am so glad I did. Her books always have some kind of mystery with supernatural elements. This book was no different. I had some idea of what a ghostwriter was, this book just educated me more on the subject. Sirens have always fascinated me since I love Greek mythology. The descriptions of these creatures fit perfectly as to how I thought they looked. I cannot imagine having to cut oneself off from everyone and everything in order to survive these creatures. Knowing that any day could be your last day on earth would be most depressing. I was hoping for a better outcome for Riff and Callie but it was not meant to be. This was a horror book without gore and was frightening. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I love a good ghost story and this did not disappoint. I remember learning about sirens in Greek mythology in high school and I'm pretty sure this is the first book I've read that used them. Just when you think you have it figured out, London Clarke twists things making you second guess what you think you know. There are some trigger warnings for this book. I could relate with Riff and his agoraphobia but love how he was still very much a caring person throughout the book. Would definitely recommend!

I did not expect to love this as much as I do. Riff seems awesome and our protagonist has her trauma but she is clearly a brilliant ghost writer. I loved the setting, especially the resort and how it has decayed in only 12 years. It is amazing how quickly that can happen.
I love their weird interactions and I especially loved the night singers. OMG They are so perfectly creepy.
I also love the greek mythology connections.
That ending too! Beautiful!

Callie makes a living as a ghostwriter. Mostly of rock and roll musicians. Imagine her surprise when she lands a gig working for Riff Fall, a singer songwriter, that led one of her favorite bands back in the day.

Since his wife went missing years ago he's become a recluse and lives on Invisible Island and never ever leaves the property. Some people think Riff may have been involved with his wife's disappearance. He claims something more supernatural occurred and now he wants to finally set the record straight.

Callie has strict rules to follow if she is to live with and write for him.

Don’t go near the attic door.
Don’t go outside after midnight.
Don’t ever listen to them.

Callie doesn't really understand his paranoia but agrees to go along anyway. Will she live to regret this? You'll have to read this to find out.

Truth be told this book didn't really do it for me. I don't know if it's because I just finished a 5 star book before this one making this pale in comparison or, admittedly, where this storyline went is totally not my thing. I was expecting a haunted house type story but this is NOT that.

Going beyond the storyline the characters didn't really impress me either. I was left feeling pretty indifferent to both Callie and Riff. By the 50% mark I was reading this just to be finished because I didn't really care about any of it.

I've read another book by London Clarke and really enjoyed it so I will try another book by her again. This one just wasn't for me. 2 stars!
