If you love psychological thrillers that are as disturbing as they are engrossing, The Caregiver is a must-read. Hinkens delivers a shocking, unforgettable story that will stay with you long after you turn the last page.

I'm confused.
Yes, it was fast-paced, and I can't say I was bored, but the whole thing was just incredibly far-fetched and a little ridiculous...
Firstly, surely Dana had no legal right to stay at the house.. there was no job for her to do, and she was on a probationary period anyway? Why didn't Morgan just change the locks and kick her out?
And then there was a whole serial killer storyline that wasn't even solved?! What?!
Also, if I'm being honest, I didn't like any of the characters, I wasn't hugely convinced by the twist and it's another book I've finished that has just left me with a bunch of questions. Meh.

My first novel by N.L. Hinkens and it definitely won’t be my last! This book was so good! Well written characters, twists I did not see coming. There was constant suspense, I couldn’t put it down wondering what would happen next. To top it off- best ending ever!

This was a really good story. It kept me interested from beginning to ending. I honestly didn't want to put it down. I also loved the fact that one of the characters had my name. I'll be looking to see if she has other books to read.

Must read for psychological thriller lovers! This book was full of twists and turns I couldn't predict. I loved the concept and had not read anything like it. Super thrilling read!

Overall I enjoyed the book. I appreciated the character development, storyline and the authors attention to detail.

I love a quick moving book, and this one for sure fit the bill! I was up later than I should have been with a great writing style, great characters, and a very good plot! Thank you so much for the opportunity to read this!!

4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Not sure where to start with this review because although I gave it a higher rating, I wouldn’t really say I loved it. It definitely kept my interest and was a quick read but I often found myself rolling my eyes or literally laughing out loud because at times it seemed silly…or I guess “unbelievable” might be a better word. I will say the epilogue itself deserves the high rating….gotta love a good “karma” ending…what goes around comes around!

You know when you read a book and your yelling at the characters. This is exactly what I was doing. The twists were unbelievable and it will have you guessing right until the end.

This was a quick read but really enjoyable and kept me invested throughout. A fresh take on the domestic thriller, well written and entertaining.

A fast paced thriller that had me gripped throughout, I've never read any books by, this author, I will be reading more.

This book is a very quick and satisfying read. Morgan has young twins and her mother to take care of. She hires a live in caregiver and this turns into the worst decision she made. The story is told from Megan’s POV and I loved her character. I don’t know what I would do if I was in the situation where a caregiver/tenant won’t leave but I know I would just as frustrated as Megan. The story moved quickly and I loved it!

This is the first book I've read by this author. Engaging story face paced thriller. dual storyline was a bit confusing but nothing that would deter me from recommending it to others.

This is a fast paced thriller with twists galore. Well worth a read and a book that I highly recommend

This story starts off with Morgan, Will, and their twins, Morgan’s Mother has dementia and its becoming a lot for her to manage along with the twins. So when approached by a friend’s sister, Dana, at the park she just spills everything that is going on and Dana is all to happy to offer her services to help care for Morgan’s Mom. Morgan takes her up on the offer and they agree to a trial run for 60 days and Dana will live in the little house they have on their property. Morgan’s husband is not happy about this at all and voices his opinion but Morgan still lets it go ahead. That’s when everything starts to go down hill for this family and gosh does it ever go down hill.
This story pulled me right in immediately and kept it claws in me until the very end with its psychological thrills, Murder, and Mystery it’s definitely a must read.

Morgan is watching over her mother but she needs more constant help. Morgan decides to get a caregiver Dana. The kids love her.
Dana becomes a squatter in their apartment. She won't leave but she is not needed anymore.
Psychological thriller that you won't want to put down.

The Caregiver by @nlhinkensauthor
Morgan thinks she has found the perfect solution to her problems when she happens to meet Dana, a nanny, on the playground. Morgan's 81 year old mother is suffering from dementia and her care is becoming more difficult each day. On top of that Morgan is essentially a single parent to her 4 year old twins because her husband is away on business all week, every week. Morgan knows that her husband would tell her to thoroughly vet someone who is going to be living in their house as a carer, but she doesn't have time for that so she skips a few steps and has Dana move in to their guest house immediately. When Morgan's mother dies suddenly, she lets Dana know it's time to leave, but Dana likes the accommodations a bit too much to agree to leave. She digs in her heels, finding holes in their rental/work agreement, and Morgan starts to wonder if there might be more to Dana's desire to be part of her family than she originally thought.
I could not put this book down, especially in the last 1/4 or so! The ending was so unexpected that I had to keep going until I got through it all. I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it. It is out now, so go grab yourself a copy, while I go and add all of this author's books to my TBR!
Thanks to @Netgalley and the publisher @joffebooks for giving me the chance to read and review this book!

Will and Morgan employ Dana, as a carer for Morgan's mother, who has dementia. When the elderly lady dies, Dana is no longer needed, but she refuses to leave and starts a campaign of hatred and vitriol against Morgan.
I was so confused! The job has ended, she's refusing to leave, just kick her out! With what she was up to, the police would never have backed Dana and effectively allowed her to have free reign of her employers home, while Morgan went to stay in an airbnb. There was no foundation to Dana's behaviour and Morgan just rolled over and allowed her to make demands.
There was a secondary storyline about a serial killer which didn't link to the main story and didn't get resolved.
Sorry, but this didn't work for me.
