Foster is a staple in the romance genre. If you want an easy read with romance, character growth and steam then she is it. Was this my favourite of hers? No, but it’s definitely a book I enjoyed delving into on my holiday. The MMC struck a nerve with me as he had lots of character traits of someone i know and I loved that for its relatability

Always love a good Melissa Foster romance! This is such a happy read for me that just made me smile. I adored Destiny and her zest for the HEA and the grump professor that has her eye in this professional situationship. They are a perfect, opposites attract duo and a fun read for this year!

Thanks to Netgalley and Montlake for this ARC. Unfortunately this story didn’t keep my attention and there was so much lacking in this. Grammar errors and the nicknames for the guy… this was so dull for me. I still recommend it, I just couldn’t get into it but from what I read of it, there is a cute romance and some topics of grief and funny cute banter and fake dating. This is third person dual pov of Destiny and Fletch. I really enjoy that Destiny works as a dog groomer. This is grumpy/sunshine. Ryan being the grumpy and Destiny being the sunshine obviously and I also feel like some part of this book has to do with some grief. We learn right away that Destiny’s parents passed away and she’s dealing with a lot of emotions. She wants to run a business of proposal planning. The romance between Ryan and Destiny is cute and so is the banter. Ryan helps Destiny with her business and they end up going together to a wedding so theres also some fake dating. The only thing that really took me out of the story is some grammatical errors and the Ryan/Fletch throws me off the author should have just used one name until both characters got to know each other.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing an Ebook ARC in exchange for my honest review. Our fmc is Destiny, a dog groomer and budding engagement-facilitator entrepreneur. Fletch, our mmc, is a college professor whose dog Molly is one of Destiny's clients. They become friends after one of his students, in an over-the-top stalker move, hires Destiny to stage her "proposal" to Fletch. They become friends and start fake dating for his brother's wedding, and their friendship develops into real feelings. This open-door romance is a quick, light read. Opposites attract and grumpy-sunshine for sure, Fletch is guarded and Destiny is in love with love and life. Feels like part of a series as there are a lot of characters mentioned that it feels like we're already supposed to know about, which was a little disorienting, but apparently it's a standalone. This is a new-to-me author and it looks like she has a lot of inter-connected book series, so maybe she's referencing other books? Not quite the book for me though, the writing and plot was a bit too superficial and I didn't find the dynamic between Destiny and Fletch fully believable. Destiny was actually a little too fluffy for me, and she seemed too young and immature for Fletch. But I do think the HEA and the love-conquers-all theme will appeal to many readers. Once again, Melissa Foster has proven that she is the Queen of feel good, small town romances with heart and a whole lot of steam. If a romance could be a warm cuddly blanket, 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗥. 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗖𝗞𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧 would be that book.

From the very first page Destiny and Fletch had me in the palm of their hands. Both were such incredible characters. I found myself wanting, no needing, to get to know them better and with each chapter, I found myself becoming their biggest fan.

In the past I’ve fallen hard for many of Melissa’s leading men and Fletch is definitely one of the good ones but in the interest of being completely transparent, I have developed the hugest crush on Destiny. She seriously is one of the best heroines in romance land and I dare anyone to tell me different.

This book is a keeper. It is an uplifting, feel good, romance read that will warm your heart and leave you with a positive outlook on life, love and friendship.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗥. 𝗥𝗜𝗚𝗛𝗧 𝗖𝗛𝗘𝗖𝗞𝗟𝗜𝗦𝗧 is hands down my top RomCom read of 2024 and gets all the stars! I’m giving it the judy.ann.loves.books stamp of approval, TBR and Enjoy!

I love a good romcom and Melissa Foster delivered!

The Mr. Right checklist is the perfect feel good, sweet small town romance with charm and steam. I loved Destiny and Fletch right from the start. Their chemistry was undeniable and strong. It has fake dating, sunshine and grumpy and he's a professor meanwhile she is sunshine encapsulated as a dog groomer and the pairing couldn't have been more perfect. I kept smiling while reading this book and another thing I loved was how sweet and warm you feel after finishing this book. it is the perfect book to read when you're in a mood for a good romance. I loved the romance, the banter, the friendships. It's a great book and I highly recommend it.

What a sweet and romantic five-star read. Destiny Amor will suck you into the story and have you wanting to plan a proposal that will blow everyone away, she is such a positive person and will wrap you up in that positivity and leave you with the biggest smile on your face. This story is like sunshine in a story, it really will wrap you in the happiness and make you fall in love with Grumpy Gus. There is something special about this story, and the checklist maybe long, but is it right? This story will take you with it and have you dreaming about everything you read. This author writes such lovely stories in the best settings possible.

I couldn’t put it down. I was having too much fun!

The characters are great. They felt like real people. I really like their interactions. Banter was top notch and chemistry was insanely good.

Can’t recommend this enough!!!

The Mr. Right Checklist was a cute and steamy standalone romance. The beginning was a little slow but once the story got interesting, I was hooked and devoured this opposite attract story that has a touch of drama and craziness, and a lot of laughs. I absolutely fell in love with Destiny (Sunshine) and Fletch (Gumpy Gus, Ryry), and I also enjoyed the side characters. The back-and-forth banter and teasing between Destiny and Fletch was entertaining to say the least. Fletch doesn't do commitment or love and Destiny is your forever type of woman. However, when their paths really cross in misunderstanding with a stalker it leads to a fun friendship, which leads to trust and comfort, and steamy scenes to realization to love. This story has heartfelt and touching moments with a lot of laughs. The characters in this story have you believing in love and HEA's and I ended the story feeling happy. This is the type of story that I can read over and over and will be recommending to all of my romance loving friends. This is a story I think all romance lovers will enjoy and I definitely look forward to reading more books from this author.

3.5 stars

This was a fun, light rom com! It was a little too quirky/cheesy for me at times, but overall, I liked the story and the relationship that grew between the two leads.

Words cannot express how much I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed it so much that once I was finished reading, I went and pre-ordered a physical copy for my bookshelf. I have personally never read a book by Melissa Foster but I can tell she is going to become a staple in my collection and a must read on my author list.

Destiny was such a breath of fresh air when it comes to FMC, she’s so true to herself and only sees the best in people. Fletcher is exactly what we want in a MMC, kind, adoring, puts her first, etc. The plot was excellent and I didn’t feel that it had any pacing problems. The spice was spicy and well written. I will be rereading this when I get the physical copy.

A sweet, spicy, cliché romance with a grumpy x sunshine and a fake dating trope that we can never get enough of.

Destiny, a dog groomer with a big dream and who has already experienced devastating hardships, gets entangled with "Mr. Grumpy Gus" Ryan Fletcher. As they work together to further Destiny's proposal business, they instantly grow attached to each other. While Fletch is NOT Destiny's Mr. Perfect, she surprises herself with just how much of that checklist she is willing to forget or alter to make Fletch her perfect match.

I enjoyed this fast paced story because of the quick spark between the two characters. This is the kind of cliché love story that I devour in one sitting and I always want to go back for seconds. My only gripe with this whole book is that Fletch seemingly always had a resolution in his back pocket waiting to be used for when Destiny needs it the most. It seemed unrealistic that Fletch knew of someone personally who was available to help with any of their business issues. But, even though he had a grumpy attitude, he also had a huge soft spot for Destiny and I loved how he paid so much attention to what made Destiny happy.

And of course, I absolutely love a good story with a little bit of spice. Compared to other stories I have read the few spicy scenes in here are a bit tame. Overall I give it a 2.5/5. With that being said, this book was a nice read and I loved watching Destiny and Fletch's sparks burst into fireworks. ;)

This was my first time reading a book by Melissa Foster but it won’t be my last!

Destiny “Sunshine” Amor is a southern belle, very down to earth and optimistic, who is in love with love. She has been through some traumatic losses, but she still remains positive and makes the best out of her life. She’s messy and impulsive but it’s endearing!

Ryan “Fletch” Fletcher is serious and reserved, was married and divorced in his 20s and swore off love forever. He is a tough nut to crack but Destiny manages to finagle her way into his heart. He’s actually quite romantic and when he allows himself to love, he is truly a sweetheart. He listens carefully to everything she says and shows up for her when she needs him (and even when she doesn’t).

I was smiling, giggling, kicking my feet, cackling, tearing up, all of the above throughout this story. It was just that cute! And meet-cute that preceded the start of their friendship was simply iconic.

🍑 friends to lovers
💍 fake dating
☀️ 9 year age gap
🧦 grumpy/sunshine
🦮 bernese mountain dog + cat with one ear
🌶️ open door/spicy

It was a privilege to have been able to read an ARC of this book from NetGalley. Thank you to Melissa Foster and Montlake!

The book is really sunny it's like I feel love and sunshine during the entire book.

Destiny (FMC) is such a sweet and special character, she is open and optimistic as in super optimistic, she lost her mom and dad but that doesn't cloud her ,she technically doesn't know anyone except her friend ruby and her husband John. She without doubt is reckless and the kind who is all over the place and even when she talked about her parents death and even with her welled up eyes you feel love the kind you wish to have it as well. And the fact that she is smart, but alot blunt make her lovable

Ryan (MMC) is mature ,a bit guarded which is completely understandable, his ex isn't ideal at all and I think you could meet up with the situation where women can also harm men. And even though people mention his grumpy side he is not so grumpy after all and you can sense empathy among them.

The banter is awsome. If you love fluffy romance you will grin ear to ear and their chemistry is just too good and the fact that destiny has a Checklist for her ideal man and ryan doesn't match any is just hilarious. The fact that ryan is like a lot opposite doesn't stop them from enjoying each other's company.

Yeah they didn't jump to conclusions and have the spice ,they really approached and help each other accomplice. It's heart warming how thing turns out later. The soft spot both had for animals make their chemistry works.

Destiny did mistake her Checklist book with her business notebook and let ryan accidentally read her list which lead to a lot of teasing , it's all pinky bubbles in stomach.

I love the book overall and sure if people read some annoying books and want a healer book this could be it. I would recommend it as well because you may lose people and meet hardship which could crush you and it's okay to feel sad about it and even show it but it should never make you to cloud you. You can even cry when you mention the sad things but never let it depress you. Your life is always gonna be worth living.
