This book is absolutely amazing.

The heart-pounding action keeps you on the edge of your seat, and the twists and turns keep you guessing.

The romantic aspect is mixed perfectly throughout, with some faith aspects woven throughout.

I was very happy to see Alex, Nathan, Dani, and Mark again as well. If you haven't read the previous books, you wouldn't have to, but I would recommend it. It's just so fun to see where the previous relationships are now.

Set an hour North of Chattanooga in the fictional town of Pearl Springs, Tennessee, Russell County Deputy Jenna Hart and Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Agent Maxwell Anderson are thrown together to protect a former mayor (now running for the US Senate) at his political rally.

Security detail is stressful enough, but when Jenna has the added pressure of working with her old boss and memories of her last ‘unpleasant’ interaction running through her mind, it’s difficult to set aside personal issues and focus on the task at hand. The thing is, she MUST. Two former city councilmen have been murdered and the killer has his sights set on the former mayor.

Things that worked really well:
✔️Interspersed chapters from the killer’s perspective; one with a grudge who is clearly set on revenge
✔️Main characters with a history and tension/smoldering attraction who must learn to work together
✔️Ex-fiance/dirty cop with possible drug connections who may be hampering an investigation
✔️Readers knowing more about the breaches in the FMC security

I love picking up a book to discover that it highlights flawed Christians who sometimes struggle to get it right. When I can identify with the struggle, I read to learn. So often I try to rely on myself (and fail, miserably) and books such as this one remind me to take the focus off my efforts and rely on God. I appreciated reading about characters who were blinded by love, struggled with starting over when the past kept calling, and were determined to make a difference in someone’s life.

Although the focus of this romantic suspense is revenge, I appreciated how the author wove in threads of faith and love to show how much more powerful they are when set against the human mindset of ‘getting even.’

If you are looking for a nail-biting romantic suspense that you’ll find difficult to set aside, grab a copy of Deadly Revenge.

I'll be searching out this author's backlist as I've really enjoyed this series. It's not really over, is it?!

Patricia Bradley always delivers a good read and Deadly Revenge is no exception. I throughly enjoyed the edge of your seat plot. I couldn’t put this book down. If you enjoy romantic suspense you will not want to miss this book. My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for my advance ebook. This is my unbiased review.

This book absolutely checked all my boxes for romantic suspense and I’m so glad I got to see Jenna and Max get their story.

I loved seeing old friends as I was taken deeper into Jenna and Max’s lives. It made both of them relatable and I could easily be their friend. The small town feel with the gossip, everybody knows everybody vibes made me think of the town where I grew up.

The suspense was perfectly paced, keeping me on the edge of my seat wondering what would come next. Is it a local out for revenge or did Jenna’s past follow her home? Only time and great police work will tell, along with a little reliance on God.

This book got better and better the further I got into the story. I recommend it.

Patricia Bradley never disappoints! Book 3 in the Pearl River series starts off fast and never slows down. Deputy Jenna Hart has returned to her hometown after a devastating shooting in Chattanooga. She's still dealing with betrayal from her fellow officers, a condescending boss, and a rogue fiancée. Given a chance to work in her chosen profession, she looks forward to settling in and spending time with her family. But crime doesn't take a holiday. Twenty years ago, many people of Pearl Springs experienced loss and heartbreak when a dam was built. Now someone seems to be targeting the old city council members. When investigating a deadly car accident that may be connected to the crime spree, Jenna is thrown together with an old acquaintance - Maxell Anderson of the Chattanooga TBI. But there is someone lurking around Jenna - someone who is messing with her psychologically and that adds another layer of suspense to this thriller. Grab a copy and settle in for a great read that will keep you up way past bedtime!

Deadly Revenge is the third book in the Pearl River series. While I had read the previous books in the series, my memory was a little fuzzy on the details and I still found I was able to enjoy this one, so I think it could definitely be enjoyed without having read the previous as well.

Patricia Bradley has such a talent for creating suspenseful reads that will keep readers on the edge of their seats, and this one was no exception. I found myself drawn in right from the beginning and captivated until the end. One thing about small towns is that memories (and grudges) can last a very long time--- causing someone to seek revenge even after 20 years. When a few mysterious deaths seem to be connected, Jenna and Max find themselves forced to work together to figure it all out. There were plenty of twists and turns to keep things interesting, and of course, some romance too! If you love Christian romantic suspense, you'll certainly want to check this one out for yourself.

** “Don’t ever forget God’s on the side of justice. He has this.” **

Patricia Bradley continues her Pearl River series with the romantic suspense thriller “Deadly Revenge.”

When suspicious deaths occur in Pearl Springs, Jenna Hart of the sheriff’s department dives in with the assistance of her former boss, Max Anderson, now with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations. In town to assist with protection for Harrison Carter, the town’s former mayor who is now running for senate, Max is also pulled into helping investigate the deaths. Are the deaths and the threats against Carter related? Or are they two separate issues?

And will Jenna and Max be able to get past personal betrayals in their pasts and give in to the relationship budding between them?

What follows is an intense, action-packed story filled with enough danger and romance to satisfy the reader. Bradley fills her story with twists and turns, as well as intriguing characters, filled with flaws, mysterious backgrounds and evil behaviors.

She also reminds us that God is always watching over us, guiding and protecting us; we can overcome our pasts; and finding faith in one’s self as well as others.

“Deadly Revenge,” which is due out Nov. 5, could be read as a standalone, but I’d highly recommend the series’ first two installments. Fans of authors like Lynette Eason, Irene Hannon and Terri Blackstock will love this book.

Five stars out of five.

My thoughts: Deadly Revenge is a romantic suspense by Patricia Bradley. Ma Bradley is one of my favorite suspense writers and it was good to get acquainted with this couple from Tennessee.  This is the second chance romance. The hero and heroine both knew each other prior but due to circumstances out of control she ended up transferring to another town and he somewhat believed the rumors that were going around about her mental state in the prior community. Years ago, before the story was set my dad was involved as a surveyor at an area of Tennessee there was bought out from the residence to make a lake. He told me some of the things that happened way back one and even though the story had a like bought out in the 1990s years after my dad experience what he had the stories were eerily similar. I found it interesting reading as I remembered my dad telling me stories just like what I read. If you like romantic suspense you will love Deadly Revenge or any of Ms Bradley's books. Be sure to grab your copy tonight. I was given a copy for you and all opinions are my own.

A deeply moving and inspiring book. The characters feel incredibly real and the settings are inspiring. Enjoyable read.

Deadly Revenge by Patricia Bradley features two mysteries rolled into one. Bradley does a wonderful job at creating the mystery from the heroine and hero's perspective. The plot kept me guessing as I flowed through the pages. Even though Bradley did tell who the bad person was pretty soon in the book, it was nice to be able to follow the story to see how she has the characters figure out the plot. On the other hand, the romance took a little time to develop trust between the two characters because of a rocky past. The storyline was a little different with the feeling of similiarity to other romantic suspense novels. Familiar readers with the previous books in the Pearl River novels will be happy to see familiar characters and a familiar setting. Overall, Deadly Revenge by Patricia Bradley fits right into the romantic suspense genre and will satisfy readers of this genre.

I received a complimentary copy of Deadly Revenge by Patricia Bradley from Revell Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.

Deadly Revenge kept me turning pages well into the night. Deputy Sheriff Jenna Hart has suffered PTSD, but she believes she's over come it, until strange things begin happening in her home. When Agent Maxwell Anderson arrives in town to help organize protection for a politician, he's drawn into murder investigations and thrown together with Jenna, his former employee. The two of them have to find out who is menacing Jenna and who is killing people in town. Bradley has written another suspense filled story with unexpected twists and turns for anyone who loves romantic suspense. This is book 3 in the Pearl River series. I was given a copy. Opinions are my own.

Pearl Springs strikes me as a very pleasant little city where couples get married, have children, and raise their families, a place where crime is low and people are safe. Be that as it may, the people do not like interference from the outside, nor do they like change. Some may even hold grudges for decades. Many times the grudges tend to die as one or the other party dies. However, that is not always the case as a trigger event may stir things up again. Jenna had left her job with the Chattanooga Police Department to return home to Pearl Springs and take a job as a deputy in the Russell County Sheriff’s Department. She suddenly finds herself face to face with Max at an accident scene. The last time she saw him was when he kissed her three years earlier at his farewell dinner. She never heard from him again until now. Before she knows it, she is working with him to solve multiple cases which may or may not be connected. An interesting aspect of the story was that many people living in the city and surrounding areas knew a lot about the history of the county until a deputy and a TBI agent showed up to ask questions. The answers were usually along the lines of sending the officers to talk to someone else who knew more than anyone, and that person would give them the name of someone else who knew even more. The suspense mounted all through the book as one monkey-wrench after another was thrown into the mix. The action along with an undercurrent of romance kept the story exciting and me practically on the edge of my seat. I hope the author takes us back to Pearl Springs again one day. I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher. This is my honest review. All opinions are strictly my own.

Great read!! I definitely enjoyed reading this book! It had great suspense, intriguing, action, murder, mystery, a great who done it and some crazy twists and turns! The story was very interesting! I definitely recommend reading this one! Thank you NetGalley, the author and the publisher for sharing this book with me! Deputy Jenna Hart has only been working in her sleepy hometown of Pearl Springs for seven months when city officials begin to be targeted by a killer. Twenty years ago, the construction of a dam caused people to lose their land to eminent domain. That wound has not healed with time, and someone bearing a grudge is clearly set on revenge. With the former mayor of Pearl Springs now running for the US Senate, Jenna will have to call in backup to ensure his protection!

This is the third book in this series, but they can be read along, some recurring characters.

This is Jenna Harts story, and TBI agent Max Anderson's and there is danger and suspense coming from more than one direction.

This is Christian suspense at it's best, and this author does not disappoint. Danger is ever present, but there is such a kindness for fellowman, and love of family.

You wonder if those you come to care about will make it to the end, and what is triggering all of the happenings?

Just when you thing it is all wrapped out, nope, there is more! Keep page turning!

I received this book through Net Galley and the Publisher Revell, and was not required to give a positive review.

Patricia Bradley really knows how to spin a thriller! With bad guys coming from every direction, grudges being held for decades, and mysterious murders happening on repeat, you won't be able to put Deadly Revenge down.

I love the way that the romance sizzled. With trust issues and painful pasts - that were a bit mysterious, too, because Bradley created suspense there, as well - this was definitely not a linear relationship, and I enjoyed watching it all play out.

On the other hand, it was really difficult to watch our leads be in danger. Was the threat real? It was hard to know, and since I can't imagine anything scarier than not being able to trust my own mind, this plotline was fascinating.

Deadly Revenge has it all: a hot romance, evil villains, a tough community, and thrilling suspense. This was a read-in-a-single-sitting book for me, and I bet you'll be flying through those pages, too.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Deadly Revenge
by Patricia Bradley
Pub Date: November 5, 2024
Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion,.
As the sparks of romance reignite and the threads of the investigation get tangled when another suspect comes into play, Jenna and Max will have to draw on all of their skills to stay alive and prevent the wave of disaster poised to hit the community of Pearl Springs. The question is, can either of them fully trust that the other has their back?
I loved this book and it had me hooked from beginning to end.
Deadly Revenge by Patricia Bradley, is book three in her Pearl River series. The suspense starts from the first page and keeps going. There are lots of twists and turns as Jenna and Max work to find answers after three people are killed within a short period of time. This is a good romantic, Christian suspenseful story that kept me hooked until the end. It can be read as a standalone, but I recommend the entire series to get to know all the characters. Another great read by Patricia Bradley!

Loved it!!! I was glued to each one of the Pearl River stories and simply could not put them down. You can totally read them as standalone stories, but I really enjoy the continuity of characters in this wonderful small town of Pearl Springs.

Author Patricia Bradley knows how to spin a suspenseful yarn. Two deadly scenarios converge during the same week, and the story kept me turning pages! In Deadly Revenge, one event from 20 years ago that had the townspeople up in arms with many losing their land to eminent domain, and just now some of those in charge are being murdered for it. Another event from Jenna Hart's previous job in Chattanooga where she was betrayed and unable to bring a dirty cop to justice seems to have followed her to Pearl Springs including a drug dealer who threatened her at his hearing when he was convicted and sent to prison.

I enjoyed Jenna's Granna, her unwavering faith, her baking skills, and her humorous old fashioned sayings. Her Granna has always liked Agent Maxwell Anderson for her granddaughter Jenna, and is delighted to see Max is in town for a case.

Non-stop action, danger, and romance, will keep you turning pages! I highly recommend Deadly Revenge and the entire Pearl River series!

Thank you to the author, publisher, and Net Galley for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.

This is the third in the series and can be read as a standalone. There was plenty of suspense, twists and touch of romance. A great romantic suspense with well-developed characters and tons of action. I recommend you pick up this book and get to know the people of Pearl River. Deputy Jenna Hart has moved to Pearl River after a terrifying experience with the Chattanooga Police Department. She was shot and lost her creditability with the other police officers. Now it looks like someone is killing city officials that were involved in the construction of a dam twenty years ago. Not only is someone killing them but making them look like accidents. Can Jenna prove that they were murdered, and can she stop the killer from coming after her? Thank you, Netgalley and Revell for providing me with an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
