I really enjoyed this book! It took a chapter or three to get going but I thoroughly enjoyed it once it was in motion. The level of detail for the combat sequences was very satisfying. I only got lost once and I think that was due to being excited and accidentally skipping ahead too far. The characters were great, the mystery was engaging (especially as it unfolded more and more), and the world felt built up just enough that there something solid to hold onto while we navigated new waters. MC has a touch of 'the chosen one' trope sprinkled with 'the reluctant hero' trope but it wasn't cringey or annoying in the least. The MC is a grounded character which helps a lot. I'll be looking forward to reading the next book!

I was pre-approved for this one so I grabbed it, and boy I am glad I did. This is such a great book, for both, young and old [I am on the old side :P]. We follow 14 year old squire Burchard [and I do admit I read it Butcher and that kid of stuck with me now], who, is...well simply trying not to get on his father's bad side [and damn as a parent myself I want to strangle this guy], but whenever he turns it seems trouble is waiting for him just around the corner. Like seriously the kid can't catch a break. But because of it, we as readers are tossed right into that adventure. I am definitively will be getting this book when it comes out for my son to read ;), and can't wait for the next book.
A fun read and a perfect gateway for young adult readers looking to get into the high fantasy genre! I really enjoyed following Burchard on his adventure!
I did not like this book very much. I think the fault might be with me, but I found the story oddly complex yet too simplistic for me. I enjoyed the mentor figure in the book, and he was definitely the favorite, but it didn’t stop me from putting the book down and forgetting about it for a while.
Umm, yes please!! This was soo good! Plot was entertaining and kept thing’s moving along nicely. A little spice here and there was nice too. All in all, a great book.
Chronicles of Sword and Fang is a YA Fantasy that takes you on an exhilarating journey alongside Burchard Wolfensberger. From the very first page, I found myself immersed in a world of knights, dreams, and impending darkness. What I loved most about this book was its ability to transport me to another realm, where bravery and unity are the keys to survival. As a reader, I couldn't help but root for Burchard and his newfound allies as they faced their fears and stood together against a common enemy. Chronicles of Sword and Fang kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end, and I enjoyed every moment of the adventure.
