This was a cozy fun read with a 90’s vibe. It’s magical, intriguing and talks about loving yourself.

It did lack something to drag me in completely, but it was still an enjoyable read, and I do recommend it if you’re up for a cozy autumn read.

It’s a perfect witchy, magical, and cosy autumn read. There is so much warmth in the story.
Personally, I found a couple of issues in the storyline that threw me off. In the beginning, Belle almost loses her magic because she has previously been a selfish witch, only using magic to enhance her own life. The solution is a course in magic. Why? Clearly, she can do magic, the problem are her morals rather than her skills. It would have worked much better if the problem was that she was a poor witch, then you could solve that with a tutor and a crash course in magic. But since her morals were the issue, I don't see the correlation.
Sometimes the story felt very slow and repetitive, but it was beautifully written and therefore still a joy to read.

A cozy, funny, and absolutely clever novel! It’s been a while since I stayed up to two in the morning to read a book. Even the familiar bits in a cozy fantasy felt so nostalgic rather than boring.

Belle is a witch that works in a cozy bookstore who took her magic for granted and hasn’t used it much in the fifteen years she’s had it. One day, she receives a message summoning her to stand in front of a panel of witches and wizards to decide based on those fifteen years if she’s worthy of keeping her powers for life.

I loved the take on the “witch trial” that’s so different from the macabre ones we know. And I also enjoyed the way she defends everyone’s uniqueness despite them not having magical powers. That magic is within a person, fantastical or ordinary. I kept cheering for Belle from beginning to end; an absolutely wonderful character on her own and against other characters. I genuinely adored every character the author created: Belle’s best friend, her mother, and her teacher. Plus, her love interest in a beautifully developed romance subplot.

The entire novel although fantastical has many relatable moments. “plus it had pockets” is a phrase that made laugh out loud and one that I hear a lot among fashion influencers and in our household when my mom buys dresses with pockets, lol. Also “the small quiet reminder of an ever-loving presence” is equally a very relatable remark on her grandmother’s brooch. I feel the same way when I wear a ring grandma gave me.

My only problem with this is that the witch fight scene in the audiobook was a little overstimulating that I had to lower the voice and would’ve been a good choice to slow it down. But that’s my problem. It could be perfect for you, so I urge you to pick it up.

If you're looking for a cozy read this autumn, "Rewitched" by Lucy Jane Wood is the perfect choice. This romantic, light fantasy novel creates a wonderfully warm, witchy and inviting atmosphere that's just right for the season. Think "Gilmore Girls" with witches added to the story :)

The book is heartwarming and charming, with just the right amount of romance to keep things interesting. I absolutely loved the characters, especially Belle, who is a strong and relatable protagonist. The pacing of the story was spot on, keeping me engaged without feeling rushed. The magical elements are woven beautifully into the narrative.

"Rewitched" is a delightful book that I thoroughly enjoyed. It's the kind of story that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. If you're in the mood for a feel-good read this fall, I highly recommend picking up "Rewitched."

An entertaining cozy fantasy about self-love with a protagonist whose fear of failure often stops her from going after what she really wants, whether it is owning Lunar, the beautiful bookshop where she works, or using her magic. While I enjoyed the character development of the protagonist, I found her behaviour at times annoying and I found the first half of the novel slow-going. The second half is more fast-paced and intriguing and that’s why I can say that, overall, I enjoyed this novel: it is well-written, there is slow-burn romance, a few villains, and an engaging cast of side characters that kept me quite entertained!

I had high hopes going into this book – the premise was strong with mention of magic, a bookshop, a coven trial and female relationships. Plus, the cover is fantastic and had the bonus of featuring a cat!

Unfortunately, I didn’t fully click with this book. The pacing felt very slow and the writing overly descriptive for my taste, which just seemed to slow the story down even when it felt like a build-up to a significant part of the plot. It felt that the story didn’t really get going until after the 60% mark and even after this, it seemed that obvious questions were not asked by the characters until much later just to be able to further the plot at a much later point.
I did enjoy the relationship between Belle and her mentor. I also did not fully guess all of the reveals in the final quarter of the book. This is the author’s debut and I would read more from her in the future as liked the cosy witch vibes and I am interested to see how her writing progresses.

I am rating this book 3 stars.

Thank you to the publisher, Pan Macmillan for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Well, where do I start with this book? Lunar sounds like, and feels like my dream Bookshop. Welcoming and cozy, with enough magic weaved about the place to keep it warm and enticing all year round.

Belle feels the way I did about her upcoming 30th birthday, but she had far more in store for her than I did!

A story of discovering your own worth, and your own power, of trusting your instincts and embracing your family, both blood and found, Rewitched is a good time read, with some twists.

I thought I knew where this book was going, but boy was I wrong. It feels like a slow build at the beginning, but this book really picks up the pace to a dramatic climax.

Once I picked it up, I didn't want to put it down! More books like this please

Firstly, can Luna books be real because I would 1000% make that go to destination for all my book purchases going forward (obs when Belle is in charge not Christopher!)

I loved that this book at its core was about finding yourself and your inner strength. It’s not too late to go after what you want and discover your own worth not defined by others. Personally, I would have loved a little bit more development of the romance with Rune but at the same time it was refreshing to read a novel where romance wasn’t the central storyline.

Arty was a STANDOUT character and must be protected at all costs.

Overall this was a great debut novel. Lucy very much provided an enriching narrative with vivid imagery that felt incredible immersive. If you are looking for an easy, cosy, autumnal read then I recommend picking up a copy.

3.5 stars!! - This cozy fantasy gave me all the autumnal and witchy vibes!!

The funny and slightly chaotic Belle works at a bookstore and hasn’t used her magic for anything other than making tea while staying on the couch in a while. So when the witch is summoned by her coven on her thirtieth birthday to see if she is still worthy of her magic, things don’t go exactly as planned. But when given a second chance, she dives head first into exploring her magical abilities.
I loved the setting and just the overall descriptive writing style. From how the leaves fall and crunch under your shoes to the smell of warm pastries, Lucy described everything with a touch of magic.

The romance plot is more of an side plot and that the book itself is ultimately a story of self-love and trusting yourself that you’re capable, no matter what life throws at you. Maybe not the kind of witchy trials that Belle has to complete tho, but still. I loved the found family storyline with extremely lovable characters like Ariadne and Arty (I want him to be my friend and bake me goods). Towards the end the plotline really picks up and I was quite surprised with the whole reveal!

If I had any notes it would be that the middle became a little repetitive and ultimately I did not really feel the spark between the main character and the love interest. But then again that’s not the main plot of the book so therefore it didn’t bother me much.
I’m excited to see what Lucy writes next 😊

Get your hot chocolate and blanket ready as you curl up with this perfect Autumnal read.

This was one of those books that leave you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside.

The magic sucks you in and I really hope that this universe is expanded on and that this is just the first book and that more follow in the future.

This is a very cute & cosy fantasy, about a witch who is rediscovering her magic, and also herself 💫 It’s set throughout October so is the perfect read for this time of year!

Belle is extremely relatable (aside from the witch thing), a 30 year old who has got very comfortable in her somewhat small life, and lacks the confidence in herself to pursue what she really wants.

The found family is perfect - Belle’s eccentric mentor was one of my favourite characters! I would have loved more of Belle’s love interest Rune - he is more of a (dreamy) passing crush, as no real romance happens in this book. I thought this was a slow burn so my romance-loving self was a little disappointed!

I did think that the pacing was a little chaotic at times, but it definitely builds up to a dramatic finale 💥 Whilst this book doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, I feel there is so much more that could be explored both with the coven and Belle’s romance with Rune, so I’m hoping for a second book! 🤞🏼

Oh wow what a cozy autumnal book! I loved the characters and the relationships they had with each other. There were some different dynamics but I loved the friendships and support they offered through the story. I really enjoyed the autumnal vibes and it’s set in London which was a bonus. The start was a real slow burner but once the story started it came alive. It’s very much a story about self belief and acceptance which was lovely to read.

Extremely heartwarming, I loved how this books main focus was the journey of self discovery and believing in yourself. I enjoyed the slow burn romance and all of the whimsical, magical elements!

It’s perfectly cosy and autumnal, the best book to get you in the mood for the ‘ber’ months to begin. Such a joy to read!

Rewitched is the cosiest and most autumnal book and you totally need to read it this autumn.

I was very lucky to have the opportunity to read the ARC and listen to the ALC and both the book and the audiobook are incredible.
Throughout the book I kept thinking about how in the world is this a debut novel because it’s so good!!!!!
This book felt like a hug and it was heartwarming and touching. While the book has romance, it’s not the main plot. This is a book about self love and self discovery.
I don’t want to spoil anything for the plot but everything connected and it was so cleverly done. The world building is also incredible!!!

Grab a cup of tea on a rainy weekend and enjoy this book.

Thank you Pan Macmillian for the ARC and the ALC.

It's September and the Halloween season has officially started! I'm also slowly getting in a more witchy mood and that shows in the books I've lined up to read. I was very curious about this book. Especially because cosy fantasy is always a little tricky. Either I love it or I get a little bored and it's impossible to know which book is gonna be which. I was therefore really happy that I found this book on Netgalley and that Pan Macmillan granted me a digital copy.

This book is quite clearly one of the cosy fantasies that work for me. That's partly because the heroine of this story is really relatable. In a way she has a lot of dreams, but there is always some sensible part of her brain holding her back. When we're young we all think that we're gonna do everything we wanna do when we grow older, but that's just not what happens. Bella had a lot of learning and growing to do, but I think we all recognize where her journey starts.

I also really liked all the magic in this book. The author clearly thought about all the magic and how it worked and yet it still feels really playful and dynamic. That's also because, despite the fact that our heroine isn't using her magic for big stuff, she is using it casually for small things around the house. However, things got more and more excitig the more magic our heroine started to learn and use. Partly due to all the other characters involved, but also because of the plot.

That was for me the biggest surprise. Like in all cosy fantasies there is some romance, there is some magic and most of the time things are quite well. However, in this case the stakes are actually high. Not only because our heroine can lose her magic, which is already terrifying enough. But also because things actually get dangerous. I really enjoyed this mix of romance, magic, relatable and funny characters and danger.

The cosiest, most magical, warm hug of a book for autumn. Its witchy vibes are immaculate and the message about reclaiming your inner magic is exactly what we need right now.

This is a such a cosy, autumnal read. It’s got a lovely story of finding yourself again which I feel would really connect with some readers.
I found Belle to be really relatable in places and so that helped me feel connected to the story.
I think I was expecting more of a romance plot and therefore I think that took a star off for me but I know a lot of people will probably really enjoy it to have less romance.
My biggest issue is the pacing as at times but this is a great debut book and I have no doubt a lot of readers will really like this

I enjoyed this book so much, it was a perfect story to curl up with on an unseasonably stormy afternoon. A cosy read, with romance; bookshops (who doesn't love a book set in a bookshop); strong coffee and good friendships with a magic system which made sense. I liked the little nods of homage to Bewitched and (I think) The Worst Witch, and I thought the descriptions, particularly of Hecate House with the zodiac doors were well done. I needed something engaging and light, without being trivial, and this totally fitted.

Thank you for the advance copy, I will be buying this for two of my friends, both of whom really love a witchy tale!

Cosy. Witches. Warlocks. Covens. Bookstore.

It was a little slow to begin with but honestly a witch working in a bookstore with her whiskered companion and soul sister, who meets a dashing young Warlock and ends up in a fight to keep her powers.

Yep, I was hooked and my cosy heart lapped it up! I really enjoyed the writing, the storytelling and the magic was just so wonderful.

I did love that whilst there is romance, it is just one cog in a massive machine full of twists, secrets, family, friendship, magic and self belief.

I will absolutely be looking out for more from this author but honestly I felt like it did end with a potential for another story from this world so fingers crossed, maybe Ariadne finds herself a magical lover 😉

Thank you to netgalley and panmacmillan for my copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I really enjoyed this one and it's another perfect, cosy witchy read for the Autumn months. Bella's journey of self discovery at the age if 30, I feel, speaks to all of us. Her quest to prove her worth as a witch also shows her how much she needs to believe in her own worth as a person, in general. She needs to put her own self doubt aside, in order to show not only the magical world what she us made of, but also the mortal world as well. Bella's relationship with her best friend Ariadne, as well as the tension between herself and fellow coven member, Rune, were fun to read, and I enjoyed the twists and turns thrown at her by the Coven, as well. In addition, the contrast of settings between magic and non, especially Bella's job at the bookshop where, in fact, she did use her magic to help around the place, was well done. Overall, I really enjoyed the story and the writing style, especially once the story got going!
