Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. Her daughter died. Did she take mine?? I could not put this book down, I read it so fast, I didn't care about real life that needed me. Amazing domestic thriller. It has grief, friendship, doubting and suspense. A must read.

Kathryn Croft's newest release, 'Two Mothers', is a gripping psychological thriller. With a dual timeline and alternating perspectives from Holly and Rachel, this fast-paced novel will keep readers on the edge of their seats. Croft's writing style is as captivating and addictive as ever, creating an enjoyable reading experience. While the conclusion may have been slightly predictable, it is still a great addition to Croft's repertoire. I do not doubt her fans will devour this twisty read with gusto.

Two Mothers - Rachel and Holly. Best friends, one lost her daughter in a tragic accident and the other daughter was kidnapped.

Told in dual POV and timelines going between Rachel in the past and Holly in the present. I was guessing up to the very end.

Rachel looses her daughter Evie in a tragic accident. While struggling with this grief she tries to spend more time with best friend Holly and her daughter Luna. Holly’s daughter is kidnapped and shortly after Rachel disappears.

Did Rachel kidnap Luna? Did she disappear on her own? Holly won’t stop until she gets the answers.

Fast paced, edge of my seat page turner with an ending I didn’t see coming.

Thank you to the authors, publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this ARC.

This was a great book that I pretty much read in one sitting. I went in blind and when I read the synopsis later, I actually think it gave too much information- there are even more good twists if you don’t read it first :) The story centers on best friends Rachel and Holly who have daughters the same age; then the unthinkable happens and Rachel’s daughter dies in an accident. The relationship becomes tense, and this all comes to a head when Holly's own daughter goes missing a year later. The book is much more than that, though, and deeply explores friendships, relationships, and forgiveness.

I really liked both Holly and Rachel, as well as most of the tertiary characters in the story (there are some jerks, too, but the author makes them believable). Both Holly and Rachel were strong characters who tried to do the right thing. Holly’s steadfast belief in Rachel, even when no one agreed with her, was heartwarming. The mystery was strong, and I read along eagerly to find out what had really happened. The end of the book left a bit of a question mark, and I truly understand where the author was going, and what Holly ultimately decided to do, but ideally I wish it had been buttoned up more cleanly. That being said, it didn’t detract from my enjoyment of the book.

Overall, this was a twisty, yet moving, story and I have a feeling it’s going to stick with me for a long time. I’d recommend to those who like mysteries as well as domestic suspense. Thanks to Netgalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

this story had me so engrossed from page one. two best friends one lost her daughter car accident. and now the others daughter has gone missing. the twist and turns in this book will keep you gripped until the very end how the story comes together is amazing

Rachel's daughter was killed by a car. It was definitely and accident, but the family was never the same afterwards.
Rachel's close friend, Holly, has a daughter, Luna, and Rachel is very fond of her.
Luna disappears, and Rachel is in the search party, desperate to find the little girl.

Rachel is reported missing by her husband, and suspicion falls on her for the kidnapping of Luna. Holly doesn't want to believe that.

This is definitely a page turner. Kathryn Croft did a very good job of misleading me with the twists and clues as to the disappearances.

I doubt I would have guessed who kidnapped Luna and why Rachel disappeared.

I recommend.

Rachel’s 2 year old daughter was hit y a car and killed a year ago. Her good friend Holly has a daughter, Luna, who is the same age and Rachel would love spend time with her but Holly hesitates to allow it because she thinks it is too painful for Rachel. So when Luna disappears, Holly wants to believe it wasn’t Rachel that took her, but it makes the most sense. Then shortly after Luna is found, Rachel disappears and even though Holly got her daughter back, she still needs answers.

3.5 stars.

I really like this author and read everything she comes out with but this wasn’t my favorite. I had a hard time getting into this one, perhaps because I don’t really care too much about child abductions. Also I felt like some of revelations were out of character for the people’. Overall, a decent read, just not my favorite from this author.

Rachel and Holly are the best of friends, they both have two young daughters the same age. When Rachel's daughter tragically dies in an accident, Holly isn't sure how to help her friend. She feels bad talking about her own daughter, Luna. Rachel loves Luna as much as her own child and is eager to spend more time with her. Holly's husband is concerned about Rachel's interest in Luna, he thinks it's unhealthy, his suspicion only increases when Luna goes missing. The child is found a couple of days later, but is obviously traumatized. Then Rachel goes missing. Everyone is sure that she ran off because she felt guilty for taking Luna, but Holly refuses to believe her best friend would have done something like that, but how can she prove it?
I have always enjoyed Kathryn Croft's books, her writing style and stories keep you gripped and there is always something completely unexpected. I was a bit disappointed in the ending, I felt we didn't get the closure we needed and I felt particularly bad for Rachel's son.

I just raced through this book in 12 hours. I could not get enough of the mystery of 2 best friends whose lives are upended by one’s child being killed and the other being kidnapped. When one of the friends goes missing, readers will question every assumption made. Who can be trusted? And who is to blame? Kathryn Croft has crafted yet another fine psychological thriller. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

Wow, wow, wow!! This had absolutely everything and then some! I went in not expecting what I ended up with, this book was amazing.

Loved the style of writing with the story being told in two prospectives of the 'before' in Rachel's voice and the 'now' in Holly's voice. Loved discovering the greater depths of Rachel through the friendship and loyalty of Holly.

So many characters and twists and turns, and not a wasted line throughout! So much intensity, with interlinks between characters and a real sense of tension and excitement. It's a real who done it that left me guessing until the end.

Pretty much every 'before' chapter ended with a new cliffhanger..at one point I ended a chapter open mouthed and needing a minute to gather my thought process because I simply wasn't expecting the new twist. I devoured this read, I absolutely loved it and will definitely be recommending this as a must read...amazing!!

I’ve really been enjoying Kathryn’s books! I was very excited when I received the arc for two mothers. What an interesting read! Rachel and Holly are friends who have daughters the same age. But then Rachel’s daughter dies which is very hard for Rachel. A year later, Luna is taken and found a few days later. Who took her? Could it have been Rachel? I definitely went back and forth on who I thought might of taken her. Soon after she’s found, Rachel goes missing. Which isn’t like her. She loves her son and would never leave him. Where did she go? Was it her husband? The book was a little dark. There was enough going on to keep me interested. I found the ending to be a little sad but also happy and underwhelming at the same time. I’m so glad I got the chance to read this book. If you’re looking for a good psychological thriller, I’d definitely recommend this book! Thank you NetGalley, Kathryn and Bookouture for the ARC!
