The only problem is that I feel like I need a lot more time with this. It was fun reading it, but there were so many ideas. Even though the author clearly understood them well enough to explain them clearly, I want to read these great ideas again and again because I know I can get more out of them. This is such a great fun source for people who enjoy reading about science casually, because of the way it's written.

I had looked forward to reading and reviewing this book, but after reading about 25% of the book, I could not continue and did not finish the book. What I had hoped would be stories and the history of these great thinkers turned out to be endless discussions of their formulas and theories that could only be relevant to quantum physics scientists and advanced mathematicians. In short, to a layperson interested in, but not steeped in, science and philosophy, it was, sadly, boring.

I recognize the scholarship that Mr. Hagen brought to this book, but it is a book that only academicians could love.

A great book and very interesting and informative. I’m a scientist at heart, and as a college student, this book provided lots of amazing and interesting insight into the development of the theories I’ve been learning about in my classes. It also informed me more on the various interactions of all the great players of the time, and how each of them influenced and further developed the ideas of others.

This book is divided into two main sections. The first part summarises and discusses Newton’s and Leibniz’s work, theories and contribution.
The second part does the same with Curie’s, Einstein’s and Hawking’s work.
I appreciate the scientists included in this book. I learned plenty and it was also a good refresher. My favourite parts were the parts where these scientists’ were explained with graphs, and their work was directly referred to.

Yet, this was not my cup of tea at all besides the above topics. I would have enjoyed this book if it were simply the summary of the important work of Curie and the others, with some insights from the author, and how their contributions changed the world.

I am sorry to say that the description of this book lacks the aspect of theological discussions in this book.
The writing style was simply not to my taste either.

Though, for the right audiences, who wish to read about the links to religion/belief.
