Though I enjoyed the story and really liked the character, I found the backwards and forwards dilemma became a bit too much.
This was such an easy read. I read it in a day. The story was easy to follow and had some good characters and a bit of spice. Romance fans will love it.
❤️ Thank you to Mills and Boon, netgalley and the author for my arc ebook copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Like all Mills and Boon books this was a easy quick read. I couldn't put it down
I read Melissa and Lachlan's story in a few days. It's well written but the epilogue is disappointing and doesn't feel complete. I'd like to know if they had a boy or a girl.
This was a really lovely story, romantic, emotional, adult and with really well fleshed out characters. This is the kind of story that Mills and Boons excels in and a reason I enjoy reading category romance. When it’s done well, it really is a joy to read.

Locking gazes with a stunning stranger across a crowded room, midwife Melissa feels more alive than she has since her fiancé's death. One blissful night in paramedic Lachlan's arms leads to an unexpected consequence—she's pregnant! Fearing to open her fragile heart again, Melissa keeps Lachlan firmly in the co-parent zone. However, their connection runs deeper than mere attraction. With Lachlan fighting his own demons, pursuing romance seems too risky—doesn't it?
"Midwife's One-Night Baby Surprise" was a delightful, fast-paced read. The characters were relatable and engaging, each nursing wounds from past relationships and familial struggles. It's heartwarming to witness them gradually break down the barriers they've erected and explore whether their connection is solely for the sake of their impending baby or if love is also in the cards. The story offers a narrative peppered with compelling glimpses into their medical professions, providing a rich backdrop for their evolving relationship.
Thank you so much to NetGalley, Mills & Boon, and the author, Karin Paine, for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest and fair review.
The title gives away the plot! A lovely, kind couple fall pregnant after a one night stand. They are both nursing past hurts in relationship terms with ex partners but also with family and illness. It is a lovely read to see them work to try and overcome the walls that they have both built up and find out if this is just for their new baby or if there is love between them. A gentle read with a few great cameos of accidents that they attend for their medical jobs or births they need to support in others,
