This was a solid thriller! Definitely had an ending I never could have predicted and the narrator’s voice was nice—not too distracting, calm and level!

I was drawn to the title and cover of this new author, but I had trouble getting into it and wasn't sure how I felt about it. I found the book's synopsis to be quite intriguing.

The beginning was really interesting! I kept wondering who "the woman" was throughout this suspenseful and intriguing story. Throughout the chapters, my speculations about who it might be changed frequently.
Unfortunately, I started to lose interest in the main character's situation in the second half of the book. I found it difficult to connect with any of the characters. I was unable to relate to any of the characters and found nothing about them to keep me interested or motivated to keep reading the novel.

On this one, I found the narration to be really difficult. The voice sounded incredibly robotic and a little irritating to me.

Overall it was okay book. I think I might like it better if I was reading physical copy instead listening to the audiobook.

The Woman at My Wedding unfortunately fell flat for me.
Honestly I just felt like I needed it to end, but it just kept going, and going, and going.

The plot itself had great potential, but the characters were absolutely awful and not in a “Oh Gosh they’re batshit crazy way”. They just were.
And the ending…. It was just bad. It felt so rushed and not thought through and I was just bored the entire time.

I truly wish it would be better, but it unfortunately wasn’t, for me at least.

If you’re new to psychological thrillers this might be a fun read, since the plots are plotting to say the least, but for the ones reading thrillers on a daily basis this might not be a thrilling book to read or listen to.

We hear from 'the woman' that clearly is trying to sabotage the wedding. But why and who is this mystery woman? There are quite a few possibilities.

Alright so I liked the few twists we got, one was a real nice zinger, but Brynn going back and forth trying to figure out who was doing the sabotaging was a bit annoying. The things that were being done were things that you'd expect in order to get the bride in a frenzy.

Overall, it was fine, a bit slow moving, but I enjoyed the writing well enough that I'm interested in seeing where the next book takes us.

Side note ~ no matter where the author is based, or their nationality, I feel like if the book is based in the USA then proper terms should be used and vice versa. For instance we don’t really call people cows over here, or say chemist.

Narration notes:
She sounded a little young, but did a nice job differentiating other characters' voices. I could have gone for a little more emotion at times.

Series notes:
The story somewhat continues, so it would be best to read this one before The Missing Bridesmaid.

This is a great twisty read of Brynn, who is getting ready to get married. Unfortunately, her happiness is disrupted by her estranged Mother In law, who holds a dangerous secret from Bynns past. As Brynn's past starts to unfold and unravel, we find that her secret destroyed lives and we find out all is not what it seems.

This is a great page turner and the narrative was really well paced and the characters well developed. The story twists one way and then other, and you find yourself favouring Brynn. The pay off at the end of the book, I didn't see coming and Im looking forward to reading the 2nd book in the Broken Vow series .

Laurence Boulevard did a fantastic job narrating this book. Her voice is very well suited to this type of domestic thriller.

This book was full of so many twists and turns and I loved every second of it! This was a very enjoyable read because it had me guessing. I did not anticipate that ending. I am really looking forward to the sequel to see what comes next.

I loved this book, it reminded me of The Perfect Marriage by Jeneva Rose because of the unreliable narrator, unreliable characters, the continuing twist and turns and the ending was just perfection! I loved that as the story progressed we could see the FMC's veil of truth begin to show and see that we weren't being told the whole truth especially as we learned more and more about the other characters and their roles within the story, I loved that characters were always at an arm's length from the FMC because it truly did show that she had something she was hiding from everyone. I would 100% recommend this book to anyone who loves thriller mystery novels and who loves twist and turns!

Well I'm definitely still thinking about the ending of this one! This suspenseful story began with trouble right away and continued to build quickly, but I still thought I had it pretty much narrowed down to what was going to happen. I definitely didn't see the twisty ending coming. With a cast of generally unlikable characters, L.G. Davis penned the first in a series with ease. The narrator of this audio version captured much of the cast well, but some fell flat. Despite not really rooting for anyone in particular, I will still be picking up the next in the series to see where this train wreck leads!

When Brynn starts receiving threatening packages and signs in the weeks leading up to her wedding, she's concerned. Fortunately, her wonderful fiancée Nathan makes her feel safe and happy. When he has to leave town for a huge trial, things start to go downhill fast. An unexpected guest shows up, making Brynn wonder if she's the one sending the eerie packages, but then things begin to further unravel and Brynn learns that no one is quite who they say they are.

I really struggled with the narration on this one. the voice for Brynn was so breathy and naïve she was annoying to listen to. I never hold the narration against the author though so I pushed on. The first 85% of the book was built well and the creepy happenings were done with a great pace, it kept things interesting for sure. Then you hit the 85% mark and the only way I can describe it without any spoilers is to say that it immediately reminded me of the scene in friends where Ross & Monica's parents find out a whole ton of secrets in thirty seconds. Friends fans know what I"m talking about but basically Monica & Ross take turns yelling out secrets-- "Ross got caught smoking pot in college and blamed it on me! And you know that mailman you got fired? He didn't steal your playboys, Ross did!" "Well hurricane Gloria didn't break the porch swing, Monica did!" "Ross hasn't worked at the museum in a YEAR!" "Monica and Chandler are living together!" "Ross married Rachel in Vegas and got divorced... AGAIN!" and the parent's response is just..... "That's" a lot of information to get in thirty seconds!". That's how I felt about the last 15% of this book and I couldn't unsee it. I found it really jarring since the bulk of the book was so well metered. I had to go back and listen to that part twice and I'm honestly still not sure I have 100% of it straight in my head.

I liked the perspective switch with the woman & Brynn, I love the twist about the house guest at the end, I didn't see that coming at all.... but that end.... I don't know I just really thought it was way too much in such a short span. I would probably still probably give this author another go, I just think maybe one or two well written twists is plenty.

Brynn is looking forward to marrying the love of her life Nathan, she is all set to take her vows and has taken a break from her work to ensure that the wedding planning goes well - she has the best wedding planner, Ellen that Nathan has appointed and she is ensuring that she doesn't leave anything unplanned.
As the planning is progressing well, Brynn is surprised to find her uninvited MIL shows up at her door step - and she also knows that Nathan doesn't want his mother at the wedding. Brynn chooses to keep her MIL's presence a secret from Nathan.
The story has another part where the "woman" is stalking Brynn leaving her notes, broken wedding cake toppers and Brynn is getting scared by the day! But she is also adamant that she will go ahead with the wedding as planned.
Brynn also doesn't share all the secret notes and gifts with Nathan as she knows he is fighting the biggest case of his life and is representing a client who is accused of killing their spouse, and that too all the three of them they had married!

As the wedding day gets closer Brynn's anxiety just keeps increasing and on the wedding day the most unexpected happens leaving someone dead - but why is the "woman" stalking Brynn? What happens at the court that things take a bitter turn and Nathan starts to behave differently towards Brynn?

All in all a good 4.5 star - a 0.5 star lesser as the rushed ending didn't make sense in some bits and pieces.

When I started this book I thought it would be so predictable but was I wrong! I think it’s around chapter 40 when I said WTF out load at least twice!!

I had figured out one of the twists but not the others that come at you in such quick succession you mind is blown!

I want to reread this knowing the twists now as the author leaves hints throughout and the dots all connect perfectly.

The dual POV is so effective as well with one POV just being named as ‘The Woman’. Each time I thought it was a different character.

The writing style reminded me of Freida McFadden which I loved.

I don’t want to say too much in case you read it!!

Definitely will be reading the sequel!

I’m pretty sure psychological thrillers are my favorite genre to listen to…the plot build-up with the twists…it’s almost like seeing it play out on a movie screen. This thriller was full of wedding planning sabotages, family drama and of course secrets. Brynn is gearing up for her upcoming nuptials to Nathen, big shot lawyer in mid-trial…but, who doesn’t want them to get married? My thoughts on who was “the woman” changed as the plot built up, and I was pleasantly surprised with the conclusion of the book. The narrator portrayed the nativity of the main character well.

This is the first book in the Broken Vows series and follows Brynn as she prepares to marry the man of her dreams, Nathan.

Reading almost like a diary, we follow the countdown to the wedding day but follow this from a couple of different pov's.
The excitement of Brynn and her friends as they make final preparations and also an unknown character, The Woman.

We soon learn that "the woman" is creating problems for Brynn and that her plan is to destroy the wedding day.
But we don't yet understand why!?
As we read, more and more comes to light as to Brynn's dubious past, which is hinted at throughout, but not divulged.
We also see a string of problems and incidents occur that start to detail the wedding plans.

I took a while to really get into this if I'm honest. I can't put my finger on what it was, but I just struggled with the characters and the events.
Some of Brynn's reactions were a little off and it seemed quite repetitive.
But as I read on, I relaxed into it a lot more and just followed it through.

We soon have enough ammunition to suspect every single one of the women in the book - which really got my senses going and I even started to suspect Nathan of some wrong doing too!

This was quite twisty and kept us wondering right to the end about who the woman was - and I have to admit that I was still shocked by the reveal and the twists at the ending.

On the whole, not a bad read at all - but it was just lacking that something to really fully grip me in and immerse me. I think maybe it was my lack of connection with the characters that did it?

Still, I'd be happy to give book 2 a read, if only to find out what happened beyond those last few suspenseful and ominous pages that leave us wondering.

I absolutely love L. G. Davis! She had a way with words and really transports you into her books. The woman at my wedding was no exception. You will literally never know who to trust! The audiobook version was great. I loved the narrator. Her voice was soothing and brought the story to life! I must read.

That was not what I expected! This book kept me listening and I finished it in a little more than a day. I was intrigued by Brynn’s situation and I certainly did not see the twist coming

Someone is out to destroy and sabotage their happy union. Sending threatening notes, cancelling wedding venues, making Brynn sick. Who can it be??

So many possible suspects but, I promise you, you will not guess who it is!

So many SHOCKING moments! I could not believe Brynn’s past! The ending made me soooo mad, but in a good way!

If you love Frieda McFadden and Sally Hepworth, this one is for you!!!

Two parts steady, one part explosive, a plethora of possibilities to keep you guessing, and an open door for a sequel.

Sorry to say this was a total ‘miss’ for me.
The premise of the book sounded great, but it just kind of fell flat for me. I felt like everything was just pushed to the limit, and therefore, not realistic at all. Additionally, I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator, well, I felt like I was listening to a twelve year old. And then I thought…well maybe they’re trying to inspire a Southern Charm/drawl type of image. (Being as it takes place in Florida), but no. Even during the most harrowing of times…she still sounded like a kid. Either that, or maybe they’re trying to portray Brynn as simple, or simple minded. But, it just did not work for me…

Premise: Brynn and Nathan are counting down to the day of their wedding. But, there are a lot of problems in store for them leading up to the big day. (Some that to me, really made no sense at all).

2.5 ⭐️⭐️💫 for me, rounded up to 3.

Although I normally post to multiple sites, I’ll only post here (GR) and to NetGalley, as I am aware this is not a great review. Sorry, but this is my opinion…and mine only.

High quality pov listen that will have you gripped on every word. It's full of misdirection and red herrings. The narration does not distract uou from the story. The characters are well developed and this is fact paced
Sadly it leaves you waiting for the next in the saga. Can't recommend this enough. Thank you netgallery and publisher and author
