Well I am completely and utterly speechless, this was quite the rollercoaster of a story, gripping and intense.

Rona has such a way with words that she just draws you in right from the beginning, keeps you enthralled throughout and leaves you with bated breath right to the very end. Which is exactly what she did with this amazing book. As for her characters, all of which were brilliant and real, literally had me guessing throughout as to who I could trust and who I couldn’t.

Come the very end of the book, I was starting to relax, thinking all is going to end well and I can now relax, but then there is that ending, which literally just shot my nerves to pieces and blew me away, those last few chapters literally had me on tender hooks to the point that I thought I was going to fall off my chair. It was so darn good.

So if you are looking for a book that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat in eager anticipation as to what will happen next then and be completely captivated throughout, then you really need to read this book.

Wow what a brilliant read. I really couldn't put this book down so many twists and turns that keeps you on the edge of your seat.Anna's involvement with Theo comes about after a tragic loss but what started out as revenge soon becomes a tangled web and when his children become involved Anna things start to get out of control. A fantastic fast paced psychological thriller and I highly recommend it

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for an early copy of The Fiancé. This started out real amazing, what a plot!!! It was great how it all worked out for Anna in capturing Theo but then it turned ridiculously unbelievable. After 75% I couldn’t wait for it to be over. I’m sorry to say this was not worth finishing and I Love Rona Halsall books. A big disappointment. I’m sorry.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Fiance by Rona Halsall is a thrillingly, gripping and heart-pounding psychological thriller that will leave you gasping for air when twists will come along!
Grief, hate, revenge and a lot of lies... Everyone is lying, everyone is hiding something, and everyone will go the extra mile to hide the truth!

Anna lost her husband Ollie way too early and she believes that the surgeon Theo is to blame. Anna is trying to get justice but unfortunately, she is no one against the hospital where everyone will cover everyone's backs.
So Anna comes up with a different plan, the revenge plan she can deliver without anyone's help!

As always Rona is on the top of her game! So far I have never been disappointed by her books! I love her writing style as you are huked from the first chapters! I love how suspense is kept all the way through!
As always twists come in as a surprise and the ending... oh well, the ending... I would not guess in a million years!

Thank you, NetGalley and Boldwood Books for this copy!

I really enjoy Rona Halsall's books especially this one. Although the characters are not nice this story like rona's others are fast paced. So many twists and turns in this story you feel like you had a whiplash.

I highly recommend that you immense yourself in this truly twisted psychological thriller as you won't be disappointed.

Thank you Boldwood books and Netgalley for allowing me to read and give an honest review. All my reviews are my own thoughts and opinions and are not influenced by anyone else

Read and reviewed in exchange for a free copy from NetGalley. This was a gripping read. While none of the characters were particularly likeable, the story was engaging and suspenseful, and I enjoyed the North Wales setting.

Aww I read this a while ago and forgot to review! Luckily it's one of the few books I've read recently that really stick out in my mind because of how good it was. So the plot is amazing and absolutely nothing is what you expect. The characters are well written and given dimension, even though half them are horrific! It's such a wild ride with so many amazing twists thrown in. I loved every second and couldn't out it down

The best so far from Rona Halsall! I love her style of writing - how she sets the scene so that you support the character you shouldn’t really - you start off really invested and like the character, then BAM! A twist comes which makes you question your own judgement. Would you want to marry the man who killed your husband?
I love how realistic her characters are, they are so believable - here Anna wants to take revenge for her husband’s untimely death, and sets out to capture the heart of Theo, the man responsible for taking away her future. She hasn’t considered his son and daughter who appear to have a big influence on who he chooses as his partner. This book is so full of brilliant characters who all have their own agenda; each chapter brings more doubt as to whose side you should be on and who you should be suspicious about.
I found it really difficult to put this book down and leave it, it was good that the weather was terrible while I was reading it, it gave me a good excuse!
If you are looking for a fast paced thriller with enough twists and turns to leave you breathless when you finally reach the end, then this is the book for you! I highly recommend that you clear a few hours for yourself to enjoy this book, you will go through so many emotions - but you certainly will not be disappointed!

A while ago I read The Bigamist by Rona Halsall and it made me curious for her other books so I was very excited when I got the chance to read the ARC of The fiancé. Thanks @netgalley and @theboldbookclub for this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review. 🫶🏼

In this book we get to know Anna, a young woman, whose husband died during a simple operation. Anna finds out which surgeon was responsible and she’s looking for revenge..

I have some mixed feelings about this book. What I liked:
The fiance is a fast paced cat and mouse thriller.
Once you start reading you can’t put it down.
The past and present POV’s are interesting and the idea of revenge intriguing.
It is an easy read, perfect during holidays or just for an afternoon of cozy reading.

What I liked less:
The characters are not likable. Although I felt sorry for Anna I didn’t really feel connected to her.
Some events feel unrealistic.
I still don’t know where Adam came from and what his exact role was.

All in all it’s just a pleasant reading psychological thriller with multiple twists and I really look forward to read the other books by this author.

Grief effects us all differently but out of the depths of despair revenge plans are made.
The killer Has been manipulated into a relationship but it's not as simple as that.
The twists will leave you amazed and compulsively turning the pages.
A fantastic read.
Enjoy I did

I have lots of respect for Rona Halsall as an author. I've read (and loved) many of her books. Unfortunately, The Fiancé was middle of the road for me.

What I liked:

-Halsall's writing style and some of the twists and turns.
-Cool concept.

Here's what I didn't care for:

-I didn't find the story overly interesting. It was enough to keep reading and stick around for the twists in the end.
-Many of the characters were "meh" for me (Luna and Theo). Theo is a forgettable character. Luna is unbelievably ridiculous. I won't spoil it but some things she did didn't make sense.

Thanks for the advance review copy.

Don’t underestimate your adversary when planning your revenge. I had a love/hate relationship with Anna but her, often irrational, thoughts and actions wouldn’t let me put this book down. Who should you trust?? What a great cat and mouse chase! Loved this thriller and the incredibly unexpected twists!!
Thank you to the publisher for the opportunity to read this advanced copy. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Thank you Boldwood Books, and NetGalley for this ARC of The Fiance by Rona Halsall

I have never read a Rona Halsall book before and I can honestly say, I am now a HUGE FAN.

This gripping psychological thriller, is told from Anna's POV mainly... she lost her husband Ollie under tragic circumstances... and she thought it was an accident, until she got together with the surgeon who performed the operation that killed Ollie. Was it an accident, was it murder?

This whodunit kept me on the edge of my seat till the very end. I had to read this fast paced book in one sitting and I really loved it.

Would highly recommend this to anyone who loved Silent Patient, or fans of freida McFadden

The Fiancé by Rona Halsall is a thriller jam-packed with suspense, tension and delectable revenge. The quick pace and twists practically had me gnawing my tongue to reach the end.

Anna and Ollie had a great marriage. But that ended when Ollie unexpectedly died as a result of surgical negligence. The hospital staff and police were uninterested so Anna began to plot revenge. She learned everything she could about the surgeon to carry out her plan, even changing herself in the process. But she fell for him. She didn't bargain on his conniving family. Soon things spiraled out of control, suspicions flew and distrust grew. Who was the real avenger?

Though I pinned the culprit, how the loose ends tied up was breathtaking. The plot made me feel uneasy and jumpy in the best way and the writing yanked me in by the neck and threw me into the deep end. Ahhh...revenge.

My sincere thank you to Boldwood Books and NetGalley for providing me with an early digital copy of this engrossing novel.

This is one of those books that deserves more than a 5 star rating! I was mesmerized from the start and I did not want to put it down. Anna's husband, Ollie, had to have emergency surgery and the surgeon left a sponge and an instrument inside him. When that was discovered, the surgeon had to re-operate to remove them, an artery was nicked and Ollie died. Anna was devastated by Ollie's death and she wanted revenge against the surgeon. This book has lots of surprising twists in it with a great surprise ending that I did not expect. If you want an exciting thriller, this is it!

Thank you NetGalley and Boldwood Books for the ARC of this page-turner that I absolutely loved!

Having not read one of Rona's books in a good while, I was delighted to receive an ARC of this one. There is just something about the way she writes, her books always draw me in and I get quickly absorbed in them.
I felt sorry for Anna right from the start and couldn't wait to see how this one would play out! I really like revenge thrillers and this had revenge and a whole lot more! A full 5 stars from me. Now to go and catch up on a few more of hers as I enjoyed this one so much! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Fiance might be my favorite Rona Halsall book to date. The reader knows from the start that Anna is out for revenge, inserting herself into the life of the surgeon who killed her husband. In a twisted take on the fake dating trope, Anna determines to meet and date Dr. Theo in order to get revenge for her husband's death. What Anna doesn't expect is to actually fall for Theo, nor does she realize exactly what she is getting herself into with Theo and his family. Anna doesn't know who she can trust, and neither did I as I was reading!

I couldn't put this book down! Not only is The Fiance a psychological thriller, but there is also an element of action that drives the story. Thank you to author Rona Halsall, her new publisher Boldwood, and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Although I have a couple of this authors books in my TBR pile, this is the first book I have read of Rona’s. It definitely will not be the last. Fast paced and addictive, this is a great psychological thriller!!

Anna’s husband dies during a routine operation and she believes the surgeon, Theo, is to blame. Anna comes up with a plan for revenge but will her plan succeed?

This totally had be hooked from the very start. There are plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing about what will happen next. It’s fast paced and a cracking read. Now I need to find those other Rona Hansall books in my tbr pile and put them right to the top!!

Thank you to NetGalley and Boldwood Books for a digital copy of this book.
