Lucy is definitely an in for a penny kinda person, I can relate to her doubling down on her mistakes and getting feisty when she thinks people are underestimating her.

This book was great, filled with adventure, peril, and steam. It made me think of Happiness for Beginners, but I actually liked this book.

It also touched on personal growth and healing from trauma and PTSD.

Lucy O’Malley is done being a doormat. After getting dumped and booted from her apartment on her thirtieth birthday, she finds herself on the road to Leavenworth, Washington, for a little beer, bratwurst, and backpacking. Who cares if the Bavarian-themed “romantic getaway” was originally planned for a couple? Unfortunately, her guide and owner of Off the Beaten Adventures Jonathan Miller does.

He saw her as bad news from the get-go and tried to cancel the trip, but she wasn't having it. Their mutual attraction made matters worse. He had sworn off relationships ever since the unthinkable happened on a rafting trip four year before.

Still, he had to follow through with taking her on the trip. When a freak landslide destroyed their only serviceable trail home, they had to figure out how to survive the wilderness and return to civilization intact.

I loved the Pacific Northwest wilderness setting. Their adventure took them through cliffs, beautiful water bodies and scenery. Their path back to safety brought them closer though they had to confront their pasts before they finally got together. Loved that for them!

This was a really fun book. I enjoyed reading it a lot!

I had a good time getting to know Lucy and Jonathan. They were cute together and I loved how Lucy was able to get to know herself again and Jonathan was able to open up.

I liked the initial premise of the book and the fact that they actually went on a long hike that was described throughout the book. In fact, hiking and camping were prominent themes as the MMC was the owner of the company but as such and an expert in his field, why didn’t he check the forecast. I get not knowing about a little rainstorm but one where a landslide could be triggered? Other than that, the story was cute, if a bit instalove-ish, but otherwise a good distraction.

This was such an adorable book and I honestly loved it. These characters are so cute and the author did a good job writing this story out. I was captivated and finished it fast!

This book was honestly not for me but it may be for others. I was hoping for a cute read of a heroine escaping her reality by heading to the mountains (something I would do) but I found Lucy to be very annoying and I just simply couldn’t get into the story. It also might be because I’m not the biggest fan of third person pov.

I also wasn’t very convinced with their love story/chemistry. It was very insta lust at first sight.

On the bright side, Leavenworth has been on my bucket list for the longest time and I’m hoping to finally make my way over there. Who knows, maybe I’ll find myself a guide to trek through the mountains with.

This is a lovely love story between a grump and sunshine. The story about finding yourself again, the story about changes, the story about letting the past go. I enjoyed reading this adventure which is made by a landslide and two different personalities collide.

Jonathan is hiking guide. He is deal with his trauma of losing his wife.
This grumpy sunshine story and forced proximity is filled with unexpected twist and turn. It’s funny and thought provoking at the same time. A highly enjoyable read.

The female main character Lucy is a super cute, I will do my best to find the positive no matter how crappy the situation gets person. After a breakup with her douche canoe ex, she still takes the vacation she was supposed to go on with him solo. There she meets the lumbersexual of her dreams Jonathan. Through all sorts of mayhem from Mother Nature, and other things that happen, love finds a way to lead to a happily ever after. Love the characters and the fun that happened.

I loved this book! The premise of them going on a hike and getting stranded together was so unique and I've never read anything like it before. I loathe the outdoors so was worried I wouldn't be able to connect with the characters but I adored them and felt really close to them. Their chemistry was undeniable and the way they both took care of each other was so heartwarming. I highly recommend the book to anyone who loves the following tropes:

I think this was a really great debut novel and I'm looking forward to reading the sequel when it comes out later this year!

I've been asking for adventure romances, and I finally got another one! Lucy leaves behind her vapid ex-boyfriend and takes their couples’ backpacking trip alone. Jonathan, the owner of the guide service, has been holding back from single trips due to the scars of an old guiding accident. Their immediate attraction at the bar the night before their trip adds another sweltering wrinkle! The ascent up the mountain begins with angsty arguing, but transforms into a harmonious teamwork amidst some scary threats from Mother Nature. The descriptions of scenery are breath-taking, and the spicy scenes are sweltering! If you are an outdoors girlie - pick this up!

Unfortunately, I was unable to access this title and can't read it. The protected epub is not open-able on my computer in any software, and there is no Kindle option. Had I known Kindle was not an option, I would not have requested this and wasted the opportunity for someone else. I'd love to read it someday and review it on my blog!

This was a very cute, quick read. The main characters had mega chemistry, and everything made sense in regards to their relationship. There was instant attraction, but Jonathan didn't just get over his trauma immediately to pursue a relationship. Definitely on my recommendation list.

Not sure what feedback I can offer since this isn’t available on a kindle, and I don’t plan on reading it from my phone. Would love to once it’s available for the general public, I do love myself a grumpy sunshine romance trope.
