In this intense psychological thriller, the author masterfully crafts a tale of loss, obsession, and the desperate lengths a mother will go to reclaim her family. The story unfolds through the perspective of a woman recently released from the hospital, grappling with the aftermath of a tragic event that claimed her baby girl's life and shattered her world. Her haunting recollections and raw emotions draw readers in, creating an immediate connection to her plight.
The narrative is both compelling and chilling, as we witness the protagonist’s heart-wrenching moments of watching her husband and his new girlfriend assume the roles she once held dear. The evocative imagery of rain-streaked windows and the poignant descriptions of familial love juxtaposed with her despair create a visceral experience. The question of what truly happened the night of her daughter's death lingers throughout the story, propelling the reader to uncover the truth alongside her.
The tension builds steadily as the protagonist begins her quest to reclaim her son while battling her own nightmares and the outside world’s disbelief. The author does an excellent job of crafting suspense, leading to unexpected twists that keep readers guessing until the very end. Lurking beneath the surface is the intense rivalry with the new girlfriend, adding another layer of urgency to the narrative as the protagonist feels her family slipping further away.
Despite the gripping plot, some elements could have been developed further. Certain secondary characters lack depth, which occasionally detracts from the overall impact of the story. Additionally, while the climax is thrilling, some readers may desire a more comprehensive resolution to tie up loose ends.
Overall, this novel is a riveting exploration of motherhood, trust, and the psychological torment that can arise from unimaginable loss. Perfect for fans of suspenseful thrillers, it keeps you on the edge of your seat with its heart-stopping twists and emotional weight. I highly recommend it for readers looking for a page-turner that lingers in your mind long after you've closed the cover.

Unpredictable story filled with complex characters and a fast-paced thriller. I have never read anything by this author before and I was really taken by surprise with all of the twists that I didn't see coming, and it all tied together for a great ending.

This book was great. I didn't love the narration and ended up getting the book to finish.
The narration took away from my enjoyment of the book, unfortunately.

Unfortunately I just could not get into this audiobook I did not finish it. I liked the idea of it but for me it was very slow and just not what I was expecting.

After reading the plot I knew I was about to dive into a crazy and twisted story with characters I love to hate...kind of. Hate is a bit too strong, but I find that unlikeable persons always make up a story for me!
This bok is narrated by Lauryn Allman and Amelia Sciandra and I thoroughly enjoyed their pacing!
Thank you #NetGalley #Bookouture Audio for this audiobook

This story had a very elaborate sub plot but I felt this added to the story and kept it interesting. I felt completely connected to the characters and I cared about what happened to them. They were written well with depth. I was a bit disappointed with the ending and felt there were lots of loose threads which needed tying up and there wasn’t really a concrete conclusion but an overall enjoyable lesson that I would recommend.

A book of twists and drama. Unusually for me, I even changed my mind more than once as I was listening as to which character I took sides with. As for the plot, I will not be retelling that aspect as I believe that the ‘blurb’ writers do a much better job and know how to not give anything away.
The way to build tenson has been well thought through. This author obviously has talent and experience. If you wish to listen to a psychological drama where you will not know who, what or how, then this is one for you.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the audio ARC of this book!
I wasn’t sure, at first, if I was going to enjoy this story. But wow! I didn’t see the ending coming at all and I felt like I was on a rollercoaster during the last hour. The characters are well developed and I felt like I was in their heads as I read this. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author in the future.

Special thanks to NetGalley for advance listener access to The Wife at the Window by Cara Reinard.
The Wife at the Window is a psychological thriller with so many twists! I never saw the end coming!! I highly recommend the book! The book was narrated by Lauryn Allman and Amelia Sciandra. I enjoyed that they had separate narrators for each pov.

Will you be Team Emerson or Team Talia? Both women are in a battle with love being the reward. Throughout the book, I was torn between who was the victim and who was the villain. The narration masterfully brought the characters to life adding emotion and intensity to this layered and compelling story. The ending had me on the edge of my seat with a conclusion I never predicted. Shocking, heartbreaking, and compelling describe this twisted tale. Thank you, NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for my audiobook.

I listened to this one. It had a good story line that kept me interested. It was told from two POVs. It had me following along closely. The end was a chaotic mess that I had to listen to a second time to fully grasp what was going on. It was pretty far fetched. The narrators did a good job, some of the male voices, really didn't work for me and sounded so fake. Some of the characters were very hard to like. Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for giving me a ALC.

I recently finished reading "The Wife At The Window" and it exceeded my expectations. Initially, I found the beginning a bit slow, and I was concerned it might be a typical story of a jealous wife. However, as the plot unfolded, it became increasingly compelling, and I found myself unable to put the book down.
The characters were multi-dimensional and kept me engaged as I navigated between whom to sympathize with as their stories evolved. While I had a general idea of how the novel might end, the author managed to surprise me with the twists and turns that led to the finale. Overall, it's a gripping and enthralling novel that keeps readers on the edge of their seats.
I'd like to extend my thanks to NetGalley for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of the book in exchange for my honest review, and to express my appreciation to Cara Reinard for delivering an exceptional thriller.

I wasn’t a fan of the narration of this audiobook and put it down for a long time. However, having run out of books to listen to I gave it another try and am so glad I did. The story is actually really good. A sad tale of a child’s death and a woman who was vilified for it, a cheating husband and a twisted new partner. Oh, and there are secrets along the way that blow up into something tying the whole apart mess together. A great read. Perhaps the physical book would be a better choice if, like me, the narrator leaves you grinding your teeth

Felt quite copy and paste and dragged a lot at certain points. Maybe would’ve liked it in an audiobook that was slightly shorter. I won’t lie the story did capture my attention and the blurb made me want to read it so bad but I sadly felt it lacked a certain appeal in the writing. I enjoyed the ending nevertheless.

Loved the plot and the writing with the story being told from alternate POV from the ex-wife and current girlfriend. This book had a surprising twist at the end and the narrators did an excellent job. Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for a chance to read and review this book in exchange for an honest review.

My first Reinard book. I enjoyed the twist and the two different POV’s. I could have done without the random bits of paranormal reference. It didn’t add anything to the story. I am going to read Reinard’s The Den next.

The story's tension escalates as Emerson, freshly released from a mental institution, seeks to reclaim her son Leo from her ex-husband Shep and his new girlfriend Talia, who has stepped into a maternal role. Emerson’s perspective provides insight into her struggles following the tragic loss of her daughter Thea, for which she was blamed. Talia, on the other hand, grapples with her motivations and desire to maintain her position in Leo's life. The dual point-of-view format enriches the narrative, though it also reveals a lack of likability in many characters, with the exception of Leo. The plot is well-structured, delivering several unexpected twists, yet some elements may appear implausible, particularly as the story unfolds toward its conclusion. The narration by Lauryn Allman and Amelia Sciandra enhances the emotional depth of the characters, making the listening experience engaging and impactful. Overall, the book presents a compelling domestic thriller, though some unresolved plot points may leave readers desiring more closure. If you like a good psychological thriller, this book is for you. Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the advance audiobook in exchange for my honest review.

This story is told from 2 different people. I found it difficult to separate who was who and was not really able to connect with either one.
I may return to this title in the future, but for now I am going to DNF around chapter 8.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture Audio for allowing me a copy in exchange for my honest review!

Thank you Bookouture, NetGalley, Cara Reinhard, and narrators Lauryn Allman and Amelia Sciandra for the opportunity to listen to this thrilling mystery.
Once upon a time she had a perfect life. She had the best husband. She had beautiful children and a wonderful home to raise them in. In the blink of an eye, her world is shattered when her infant daughter dies. Her fragile mind cannot cope with her loss and her husband is not able to be the supportive husband and be both mom and dad to their son. When she is released from the hospital all she wants is a chance to rebuild some semblance of a life with her son. First, she has to get past her husband’s new wife and she has no intention of moving aside.
This was a tautly written story and reminded me of some of my favorite Mary Higgins Clark stories. The intensity between the husband and the two women was very well written and kept me hooked all the way through.

Thank you for the ARC. I was really looking forward to reading this book but it was archived before I got a chance, almost immediately after I received it. I plan to download it elsewhere and return for my review
