I don’t know about anyone else, or if I’m just not great at guessing plot twists (I am notoriously horrendous at this), but the ending of this book had my jaw on the FLOOR.

This book felt like it was go, go, go from the very start, and I loved the pace that that set for the book.

Our female lead was strong and relentless, and truly everything you could want for a protagonist in a fantasy book.

I’m very excited to see what happens in the next book!

In a fictional ancient Greece, a young princess takes off into enemy territory to find a long lost relict and save her nation.

I was lucky enough to get this ARC from Netgalley.
This was my first book from Sariah Wilson and also her romantasy debut. The book is fast-paced and it's one of the things I liked the most in this book. It tells the story of nineteen-year-old Lia, Princess of Locris, a nation cursed by their goddess after one of her ancestors committed a devasting crime. With the land barren and the people left poor, Lia takes it into her own hands to restore the nation to its former glory. To achieve this, she joins a deadly trial that no maiden survived in over 1000 years and makes her way to the priestess temple in search of a secret relict.
Without taking away too much of the book, there are a lot of plot twists in there you didn't see coming. People aren't who they seem to be at first and Lias's mission isn't as easy as she first thought it'd be, if only she'd survive the trial.
I loved how easy the plot was to follow, even with the twists but l'd have loved for the lore to be more in-depth. One thing I didn't like, though that is a personal preference, was that Lia is so young.

As most of the new romantasy books these days go, our FMC is nineteen years old and still somehow pretty mature. Sarah made it work in her book, as Lia had to grow up quickly, not only due to her being a princess but also because of the looming responsibilities that come with it.
Sariah's writing style is actually pretty good and I loved her worldbuilding and the lore it all was based on, even if I would've loved more of that. I did however have problems really connecting with the characters. At times I couldn't really immerse myself into the story and it felt distant.

The last pages are pretty action-filled and I personally didn't see the cliffhanger coming. There were times throughout the book when I thought I knew who these characters would turn out to be, but Sarah really surprised me in that regard.

Though it didn't hook me as much as l'd love to, I think I'll still read the second book in the series, as the plot itself is thought through really well and makes me want to know the outcome of it all.

A Tribute of Fire is an action-packed fantasy book inspired by greek mythology with found family, deadly trials, and a sprinkle of romance. There is a TON of world building, and this book is definitely a stepping stone for book two. For this reason, there’s a lot of action scenes blended with a lot of gathering information chapters. If you are someone who can appreciate world building to set the scene before it really takes off, this book will work great for you. The romance was the highlight of this book for me and I just loved the male main character. I was constantly waiting for him to appear because I was so addicted to his personality and their banter. He’s hilarious and a bit of a cinnamon roll wrapped up in a deadly package who would kill anyone to protect her. One of my absolute favorite tropes is dream conversations and without spoiling anything I’m just gonna say, if you like that trope read this book, you will NOT regret it. I will be highly anticipating the sequel after that absolutely insane ending.

I love Sariah Wilson and her first romantasy lives up to the hype! I couldn’t put it down! It was on twist after another. I normally can guess the twists but this ending had a few surprises even for me! It hooks you and never lets go! It’s the perfect blend of fantasy and romance and I’m so excited the second book (it’s a trilogy) all ready has a release date.

Prepare yourself for a book hangover worthy romantasy based on Greek mythology. I devoured this book and cannot wait for the release of book two. 

I love when an author creates a deep connection to not only the main character but to the supporting characters in the story. The throughway of sisterhood and found family throughout this story was one of the many things I loved about this book.

Here are my main takeaways and things I loved most:
-The interesting but not too complicated world Sariah built based on Greek mythology. I found the concept of the maidens and their journey to the temple interesting. 
-The pace of this book is great. It keeps you engaged the entire time and ends on a pretty intense cliffhanger!
-The romance between Lia and Jason builds throughout the book. I love their banter and the potential their relationship has for the future of the series. 
-The temple and the characters within are fantastic. You learn to love and hate them the same way Lia is experiencing in the story. 
-Spice level is low/moderate with a lot of kissing and tension. I could see the potential for more spice coming in the next book. 
-I highly suggest reading the author's notes at the end of the book. She explains more about the myths that inspired this story. 

Overall, I am ALL IN on this series and can't wait to read more in the future. The only downside of reading an ARC is having to wait even longer for book 2! Thank you to Sariah Wilson and Netgalley for the opportunity, I look forward to sharing on my social media pages.

I'm not sure where to start with this one but I guess just let me start out by saying I am fairly new into Fantasy but after reading A Tribute of Fire, I can say that I will absolutely continue into fantasy and will 100% read the rest of this incredible series. I wasn't sure what to expect as A Tribute of Fire is over 500 pages.

Boy was I pleasantly surprised!
A Tribute of Fire is set in Ancient Greece and has a strong mythology aspect in the plot that was woven in so perfectly, I totally and completely enjoyed this! If you love the following tropes: enemies to lovers, Slow burn, found family sisterhood, forbidden love, a sprinkle of dragons and a seriously badass MFC, then you're in the right place! You will immediately fall in love with the MFC Lia who is in the midst of trying to prepare to save her people. Oh, and Jason? OMG Lias growth throughout the book and Jason is kept so mysterious that you can't help but love them. The world building is incredibly detailed, and the characters are so amazing you can't help but want to read faster and faster to see what's going to happen next.
I found myself staying up half the night to just keep reading with toothpicks holding my eyelids open. I'm not saying anymore because I'm afraid I'll spoil it for people, this is a book to dive into without reading any reviews about it at all.

Where do I even begin? This book has rendered me speechless, so much so that I needed to give myself a moment to compose my thoughts in order to write this review.
The level of detail within this book, set in Ancient Greece and rooted in mythology, made for a thoroughly fascinating and enjoyable read.
As much as I tried to think ahead and understand where this plot could possibly be going, I found myself falling monumentally short of the twists and betrayals that occurred. And to be left on such a cliffhanger? I don’t even know what to do with myself while I wait for the second book.
If you are a lover of Fantasy and Romance this book is definitely for you - enemies-to-lovers, dragons, a strong willed FMC, forbidden love, cursed lands and deadly trials - this book has so many fav tropes that I am sure will have you just as enthralled as I have been.

It actually was very interesting and everytime I had to go to sleep I wanted to read another chapter even though I knew I had to wake up early the next day 😮‍💨😅

This story is filled with a princesses fierce determination to do what needs to be done. Her nation is starving. Year after year, century after century they suffer famine all because of a goddess’s act of selfishness. She ran away with her lover and was destroyed for it.

Just like the goddess herself ran from her responsibilities to live her own life, the maidens must too run for their lives. The men are permitted to hunt them in this sacred trial of fire.

The moment Lia steps off the boat, it is the first of many trials she will face while on enemy soil. But she has a plan. Survive, find the relic, save her people. But she never expected to be distracted and aided by an infuriatingly handsome sailor who just happens to be everywhere she least expects him.

I loved this story of female empowerment, determination and found family. This was a huge set up for the next book and I cannot wait for more!

And a shout out to the geese guarding a library. I’ve never laughed so hard!

This is a very solid 4.5, rounded up to 5. Our main character Lia is tasked with not only saving her nation but also has to survive a murderous race to get to a temple to start her quest.

This book has Greek mythology retellings, a slow burn, subtle magic, and prolific female friendship.

The ending makes me want the second book already - though I had thoughts on the specific end and had guessed a few things, I need to know what happens next. Definitely recommend!

ARC copy review!

I am pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. It had a lovely balance of lore, fantasy, romance, and twists that made for a powerful start to a series. While some of it did run a bit predictable, I didn’t mind at all. Very sad about the cliffhanger but excited to see what comes next in the series!

This was the first book I’ve read by this author and was truly honored to be asked to ARC read. Diving into this book I immediately felt it give me a bit of Hunger Games vibes combined with plenty of mythology references which I enjoyed.

The connection between Lia and Jason was perfect. They gave the reader enough swoony moments to keep you intrigued and looking forward to another chapter with their engagement and spicy energy. The world building was great and Lia’s strength, willpower and determination did not disappoint.

Looking forward to seeing and reading the reviews from other readers and most definitely looking forward to seeing how the rest of the series unravels.

There was a lot to enjoy in this one - I liked the world, the story set up, the quest, and the sisterhood! Lia is young but spunky and has such a good heart. The MMC, was a bit more of a mystery and I’m interested to see where book 2 takes his character arc! The romance was where I struggled a bit since it came on pretty fast and was mostly based on physical attraction which won’t bother some. I really wanted to understand more about why they were developing such feelings for each other than she thought he was so handsome. Regardless, after that ending, I would read book 2 in a heart beat. Sariah’s cliffhanger ending made me super curious about where things are heading!

Bottom line: I think that if you don’t mind a romance based on being physically & inexplicably drawn to each other then the rest of the story is pretty entertaining. The ending was great and based on that, I’d be really interested in seeing where book 2 takes the story

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC for this book and I absolutely devoured it. A beautiful story steeped in rich Greek mythology, with a romance so good I couldn’t contain my grin reading their interactions and found family to boot!
The tension in this book is electrifying and the world building keeps you entrenched in the story. I loved every single second of this incredible read and the ending had me clutching at my chest begging for there to just be 100 more pages, I’m going to be on the edge of my seat until we get more of this world. Lia is such an amazing, multifaceted protagonist for this story to follow, she is the embodiment of unwavering strength, her resilience is awe inspiring. Jason, is everything you could ask for in an MMC, swoony, mysterious, hilarious, truly had me giggling and kicking my feet on more occasions than I’d like to admit. The trials, the world building, the adelphia and the romance, a show-stopping must read for any romantasy lover. I need book 2 yesterday!

Very predictable and has a lot of repetition. I clocked who Jason was the second he appeared so i was more annoyed with it than intrigued.

Lia struck me as unlikable, she never really had *any* consequences for her actions. Like, okay she snuck out of the temple, broke into government buildings and what? Was scared by geese?

I don’t wanna talk about Jason, just because he was a useless character and played a role for maybe 10 percent of the book? For all I know it could’ve been 3 different people and I wouldn’t know the difference.

I missed the world-building. I get that Lia wasn’t supposed to know anything, but I feel like the lessons could’ve been a good way to explain the whole premise.

Overall, I don’t know if I will ever pick this up again or be interested in a sequel.

This might be one of the best books i’ve read this year.

Wilson does a phenomenal job in all aspects of this book. Each page of Lia’s story is filled with intrigue, and I seriously couldn’t stop reading.

The book takes place in a very “ancient greece” type world. there are a lot of callbacks and references to popular (and obscure!) greek mythos, which i thought added a lot to the tale. as a love of greek mythology and literature, i was so impressed with how flawlessly the intertwining of the greek world and Wilson’s worked.

The MCs were phenomenal. Every time Lia and Jason were on page together, I could FEEL them teetering towards something huge. And I wasn’t wrong - but it absolutely wasn’t in the way I thought. Their interactions were full of exactly the kind of banter that romance readers LONG for.

The spice was on the tamer side for this novel, but it makes SENSE. The slow burn between Jason and Lia makes every little payoff so worth it.

Aside from the MCs, the side characters were so full of heart. There is a RESOUNDING found family theme throughout this book, which has such a special place in my heart. Lia finds herself consistently surrounded with strong women that have her back no matter what. We love supporting women’s rights AND women’s wrongs.

10/10, 5 stars, i can’t wait buy my copy when it’s released on Nov. 1!

I have not read a romantasy with a plot like this, sure the plot twist was potentially slightly obvious (but only nearer the end of the book) I was still shocked and mind boggled. I am so invested, I have no idea where the plot is going to take us and I absolutely love that.

This book was so perfectly paced, nothing happened too quickly or dragged out too much, everything was done so well and gave an amazing background into Lia and her relationships with all the characters.

There is so much potential for the characters backstories!! I need to know about Suri and the sisters. Oh and don’t get me started on our little birdy friend. I love him!!

I love the focus on sisterly love throughout this book in the forms of blood related, adopted and oath sisters. And that the focus wasn’t all always about Lia and Jason (don’t get me wrong, romance is my favourite part of a book), but by doing so it’s given more opportunity to highlight the other characters and give more depth into the plot as a whole and I LOVE IT.

and to the main event. Jason. God damn Jason. I am knee deep in love with him. He is so effortlessly funny. The way he his written is just so fun, not only does he say the right things and is so funny, but his mannerisms and he way he carries himself are just so hot lol.

now if I was Lia would I be frothing at the mouth? Angry? Pissed off? F*** yeah!!! But I mean…. at least your dickhead betrothed prince is easy on the eye (I’m a sucker for a scarred prince)😏 and potentially your fated mate (unless jason has actually been lying and dreamwalking just to get her to marry him. I’ll flip my shit if that’s the case😡)

Wow ! Really loved this one.This is the first book to me by this author and certainly won't be my last! Such a enthralling page turner. Loved the writing style ,the characters and their development! Honestly such a great read and can't wait for the book 2!

Unfortunately this was not for me, I was at about the 20% mark when I knew I should have DNF’d it but I didn’t and now I regret it. I was bored through most of the book because I’ve heard this story before in From Blood and Ash, and because of that book I predicted the ending to this story. Also the fmc being a maiden and developing red hair is a little too similar to Poppy. It also aggravated me how much the fmc talks about kissing? No joke it was so repetitive I should have done a tally every time she mentioned it. I think what led me to push through the book was my curiosity of the world building which was actually pretty good in comparison to From Blood and Ash, and the side characters were pretty interesting as well. The ending was also pretty obvious, and it sucks because this book has so many good reviews, but again it just was not for me.

A Tribute of Fire is an engaging take on Gods and mythology. The world building was sufficient to paint a picture but didn’t go overboard where readers are lost in the details. The writing is also done in such a way that those new to the fantasy/romantasy genre can dive in without being overwhelmed. I enjoyed the FMC, Lia, especially her growth journey throughout the story. The chemistry and draw between Lia and Jason is palpable. You can’t help but root for them from their very first meeting. More than that, though, I loved the found family Lia created with her adelphia. Each sister in the group balanced the others out. The plot is full of twists and secrets to keep readers engaged. There’s an overwhelming sense throughout the story that something isn’t quite right and that feeling is reoccurring with the various situations Lia finds herself in. While certain reveals felt predictable, that may be a “me thing” with the overwhelming number of romantasy books I’ve read. It also didn’t take away from my enjoyment reading the book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. I also can’t believe Sariah ended it the way she did. I am in desperate need of book 2.
