A tribute of fire was a hit surprise for me. The mythology elements of the book, the narrative, and the world building was amazingly well done.

This book follows the journey of Lia, a Princess of the Kingdom of Locris who is finding her way to bring prosperity to her land. Locris had been cursed long ago by the earth goddess for a crime committed by an ancestor of Lia. The curse caused Locris to become a dying dessert where nothing grew, and famine was the norm of the day. The nation of Ilion, worshipers of the earth goddess, heavily taxed Locris and demanded that 2 Locris maidens are to be given to them every year to be presented as a blood sacrifice to the goddess. The maidens would have to run through a maze on Illonian ground while being hunted by Illonians who would try to kill them unless they found their way through and made it to the goddess temple in which then they would be safe and dedicate themselves to the service of the goddess. No maiden had ever survived before, and this time was Lia’s turn to run the maze. Lia however has an agenda of her own and had been training to prepare herself for this day, to try to beat all the odds at surviving.

I can say with absolute certainty I enjoyed this book. The author created a world using Greek mythology that flowed and weaved together to create the perfect fantasy world. Lia (fmc) has a backbone, strong belief in achieving her goals, loyal to those she cares for, and very goal oriented with a tough courageous personality. Jayson (mmc) was charming and charismatic with a good sense of humor and very alluring. The chemistry between these two was over the charts while being enveloped in a shadow of mystery. I had no problems connecting with not only the main characters but secondary ones as well.

At the beginning of the story, I found that it sort of moves a bit slow. So, if you do experience this hang in there, I promise it gets so much better. The plot twist and cliffhanger punched me so hard it made this book worthwhile to read. There is some spice through the book that I would rate very mild.

If you love Greek mythology with a strong heroine, charming, alluring, and tempting love interests with plot twists this is the book for you. Be warned the cliffhanger is everything. Do yourself a favor and do not spoil it; don't read the last page, be patient and wait you won't regret it.

This story and these characters are amazing. Sariah Wilson has outdone herself as she weaves the tale of Princess Thalia (Lia), sacrificing her safety for the good of her country and future. "One for many."

The world building in this book is spectacular, and is written in such a way that readers can absorb it without being overwhelmed. It's interwoven into the individual story of Lia's adventures and is totally captivating. The relationships between characters is wonderfully done and leaves readers invested in everyone.

There is non-stop action and mystery that keeps the story moving along as well. Readers won't want to put the book down, I know I didn't! To top it off we get a sweet but intense new love brewing when the unexpected Jason catches Lia's heart before she realizes she even wants to give it away.

If you love a fascinating fantasy with mystery, romance, adventure, and a strong female main character, get this book!!

Spice level: 🌶️(1/5)

As a lover of Greek mythology I was immediately pulled in by this inspiration. This book is a beautiful slow burn forbidden love romantasy, with female rage, found family, a unique magic, and strong female characters. Admittedly I wasn’t sure the first couple chapters, but the story got its bearings after that and pulled me in, I would have loved more of the plot, which is part of why I am not rating it 5 stars. The concept is so interesting that I wanted to know more, wanted more time spent on those elements and less on the love interest, this is very much a slow burn, with passionate moments but nothing explicit. The love interest is protective and alluring, while encouraging the main characters strengths. Once I was pulled by the 10% mark or so I couldn’t read it fast enough, so I would definitely say this is one to not give up on! The ending is an absolute cliffhanger and I will need book two immediately! Overall a worthwhile, emotional and also heartwarming read.

I AM OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK!!!!
The Greek mythology vibes, with deadly trials, enemies to lovers, found family, betrayal, gods & goddesses, and mythical creatures had me EATING THIS BOOK UPPPPP.
Lia, a princess of a dying kingdom decides to take matters into her own hands by getting herself chosen as the next maiden of Locris. The goddess of earth has demanded two maidens from Locris to be sent each year to Ilion. There, they have to race through the city (while being hunted by men) to try and find the goddesses temple. No maiden has successfully made it to the temple in over a thousand years but this is the only chance for Lia to save her kingdom. Along the way she meets a cocky sailor, finds sisters, and endures many challenges and trials all in the hopes of saving her kingdom.
I read this book in two days and loved every second! I thought it was paced very well and my attention was kept throughout the entire story.
I am absolutely SALIVATING at the cliffhanger and desperately need book 2 ASAP PLS

A Tribute of Fire is an adventurous romantasy inspired by Greek mythology. I absolutely loved the overall plot and the complex characters. I am eager for the second because I have so many questions about plot holes (that I'm sure will be cleared up in the future). The romantic scenes were well written and there was just enough mystery to keep me engaged.
The ending was a plot twist I was not expecting and makes the second book a guaranteed read for me!

I am a ARC reviewer.
In A tribute of fire, Sariah Wilson delivers a spellbinding journey through a world where magic and romance intertwine in the most captivating ways. From the very first page, I was drawn into a rich tapestry of enchantment, intrigue, and heart-stirring romance. The setting is vividly imagined, with lush descriptions that transported me to a place where every corner hides a new wonder. She has a gift for creating immersive environments that are as much a character in the story as the people themselves. Lia and Jason's chemistry is electric and their journey is filled with both tender moments and breathtaking tension. The emphasis on incorporating fantasy lore along side of the the romantic elements are developed with sensitivity and nuance, making the relationship feel authentic and deeply compelling. All of the characters are wonderfully fleshed out, adding richness and texture to the story. From loyal friends to enigmatic mentors, each character contributes to the tapestry of the story and enhances the main narrative with their own intriguing subplots. I feel that this is a masterful blend of fantasy and romance that will enchant readers and leave them eagerly anticipating her next Book. For anyone who loves a well-crafted tale with a phenomenal and thoughtful cliff hanger, this book is an absolute must-read.

Wow! My mind is blown. What a story. What a cliff hanger!

This is a book I’ll be thinking about for a while, and I highly recommend you give it a go when it’s released on the 1st November 2024.

The stakes are high in this book, and I found it hard to put down at times. It’s safe to say this book has converted me to the fantasy genre.

I absolutely loved Lia, the MFC, her strength and determination to save her people and the commitment to her newfound sisters is admirable. Even through the hardships you see glimpses of her vulnerability which makes her even more endearing to the reader.

Jason, the MMC, always lit up the page with his mysteriousness and the tension between him and Lia was top notch! Their connection and banter got hotter and hotter.

The world building is great and not overly done that it risks becoming confusing to the reader. There are mystical elements such as fate and destiny weaved in throughout, as well as romance, fantasy, fighting, adventure and sisterhood. Along with Reylo, I definitely got some Hunger Games vibes as well.

Thank you, Sariah and NetGalley for sending me this arc in exchange for an honest review.
I honestly loved it, and Book two can’t come quick enough!

One for Many”

Received this ARC from NetGallery

I loved loved loved this book!!! The story is of Lia princess from a kingdom that was cursed by the Earth Goddess. This curse has been ongoing for over a thousand years. The land is cursed nothing grows so they depend on importation for all of the goods.

Lia has a plan. Every year 2 girls have to be sent as tribute to their Enemy Kingdom where why are hunted by their citizens. Their goal is to make it to the Goddess Temple alive and become a priestess. In over 1000 years there has not been any survivors so that tradition continues.

Lia wants to save her Kingdom and secretly trains to become one of the tributes because she has a plan to try and break the curse and liberate her Kingom from the famine. As you can expect nothing goes according to plan and it is a fight for her life and those she loves.

Before she sails to the other Kingom to fight for her life and her Kingom she meets Jason a sailor and whom she cannot keep away from. He is a mysterious, handsome rouge.

The writing flowed beautifully and the mythology was easy to understand. I like Lia as a character, she is strong willed, loyal and logical. Although a bit Naive I love her intentions and the sacrifices she makes to protect her people and her family.

I don’t want to spoil this book so I’ll end it here. This is one of my new favorites and I love to see this as a movie adaption it’s so action packed. Just be prepared.

This is:

*Greek mythology
*romantasy
*smut level: mild

This will be available on kindle unlimited in November and available for pre order.

This is an incredible story with magic, forbidden romance, sacrifice, betrayal and honor. With a bit of Hunger Game vibes mixed with Greek mythology and magic this is a book that will keep you turning pages and a cliff hanger that will leave you desperate for book 2.

The characters are complex and all seem to be keeping secrets. I love that the Temple puts the women into groups that become like small families.  Protecting and having each others backs. A big theme is you don't have to only rely on yourself, that others will support you if you let them in. I have a feeling this is going to be a continuing theme.

The romance is hot with a bit of danger. The dashing sailor seems a little too good to be true but I guess time will tell. The Temple is interesting, I'm not sure I entirely trust the women there, especially the group that likes to pray on who they perceive as weaker. I want to learn more about the Temple and the women who run it.  I'm also sure that Lia's enemies will play a role further on in this series.

This is a definite must read for romantasy and fantasy lovers. It is so well written I really think anyone would enjoy it.  The world building isn't hard to follow and the writing flows really well. Releasing November 1, 2024, reserve your copy today!

A Tribute of Fire starts off with a bang!!
Lia is a princess that chooses to train in order to rig her entry into a "gauntlet" run in hopes to break the goddess's curse that has plagued her country of famine for centuries. Every year this run is held in honor of the goddess. It consists of two selected women running through the town streets of a foreign country seeking out the goddess's temple for refuge. While trying to find the temple the women are chased and hunted down by men to be slaughtered. Reaching the temple is their only guarantee of survival. Lia must find a way to reach the temple and grab the eye of the goddess in order to break the curse.

Lia is ready to dedicate herself to this cause but she meets Jason that turns out to be the first mate on the boat that brings her to the race. She is drawn to him. Lia crosses paths with Jason on several coincidental occasions that seem to end with longing kisses. He even visits her in her dreams. The dreams feel so real.... are the dreams from the goddess? Is he something more ? Are these meetings intentional ?

The story overall is fast paced, half way through, it does slow downs as Lia builds relationships with acolytes at the temple and tries to hunt down the goddess's eye.
This book ends on a major plot twist and cliffhanger!!

Ugh! I cannot wait for book 2!
The Characters and plot make this book a must read!

First I want to say thank you to the author, Sariah Wilson, and Netgalley, for sending me this eARC in exchange for an honest review!

UGH HOW CAN IT END THERE?! I am going to be thinking about this book until I can get my hands on book two. This was such a fun and interesting Greek retelling about the Locrian maidens. The banter in this book had me giggling n kicking my feet, I genuinely couldn’t get enough of Lia & Jason. Lia is also one of the goddess’ strongest soldiers because for this to be just book one, that girl has gone through so many trials and her growth makes me excited for book two.

This book is so good, that I won’t regret staying up late to tell you about it even though I have to get up with a toddler in 4 hours. Sariah Wilson has written an incredible Romantasy book that is going to be the perfect introduction to the opposite genre (fantasy vs romance) rabbit hole that reluctant readers might need. The tropes you know and love from BOTH romance and fantasy are all here and executed immaculately…including one I didn’t expect. The only thing I’m mad about is that I need book two like, tomorrow…and my copy was an ARC so that is going to be a lot longer than I’d like. Romance readers-take a leap into fantasy, and fantasy readers-open your heart to a heavy romance subplot, because I promise this book does not disappoint. I’d rate it 6⭐️if I could.

This book is EPIC. I’m sitting here stunned as I just finished and I cannot believe that I had the honor of reading this book as an ARC. Thank you so much, Sariah, for reaching out to me because I have found one of my all-time favorite fantasy books.

Rating: 5/5 stars

To start, the set up and exposition is phenomenal. Sariah Wilson’s writing immediately immerses you into the deserted land of Locris and you quickly come to root for our protagonist, Lia, as she enters herself into a sacrifical trial attempting to reach the temple of the Goddess in Illonia. The fire symbolism and ethereal imagery, plot and character developments, as well as the tension and slow burn reveals were masterfully crafted. I felt like I was highlighting every page looking for clues to the overall plot, and the ending was so satisfying despite it being a cliffhanger.

The romance in this book is to die for. I was kicking my feet and bursting with excitement anytime our love interests were on the page together, and the way that their dynamic develops despite physical obstacles was so perfect and kept me so entranced through the entire story. Everything was just the right amount: the tension, the flirting, the longing. There’s so many different themes working together to create a beautiful story about cultural restoration, free will versus destiny, and the empowerment of female relationships; it was truly a perfect book.

I will be waiting so so impatiently for the next installment of this series; it deserves all the recognition and love!

It was my first book by Sariah Wilson and I'm pleased to say that she didn't disappoint! It was a good romantasy debut.

Sariah masters in writing swoon worthy hero who's constantly veiled my mystery, have a good dirty mouth and mind, and is kind of sarcastic and fantastic with his words but he can tear your heart to shreds at the last through a tragic cliffhanger, did I say much? Never mind.

World building is shown to readers through rich descriptions of locations Lia travel, there's a certain amount of wondering Sariah did while writing about the Earth Goddess. I'd say reading about Earth Goddess was one of the fantastic parts I enjoyed reading in the book. Sariah also reveals how she got the idea of this whole concept, and it's no wonder greek mythology inspired!

The writing style felt a bit off to me at some points in the book, but they were not enough to hamper my reading pace. Sudden dramatic actions felt a bit off to me in the writing, otherwise everything else was good and fine.

There's much more to know about characters in upcoming installments. I'm looking forward to know the characters, their stories and motives as the plot progresses.

Anyways, what stood out most to me was the chemistry between Jason and Lia, and reading the well developed. history/legend of Earth Goddess.

Lia’s story is fantastic. I loved how the Greek mythology was woven in as well as the subtle nod to Star Wars. I knew there were a lot of puzzle pieces being provided, but Wilson is masterful at keeping the reader guessing (and second-guessing) at how they will all fit together. The typical romantasy tropes are there, but Wilson gave them a fresh take. I can’t wait to recommend this book to my friends and students (love that it is romantic without the spice).

I'm a newcomer to Sariah Wilson's writing, but I've enjoyed the romances I've read so far. And even though I'm not normally a fantasy/romantacy reader, I'd liked her writing enough that I was really excited to be an ARC reader for her newest book.

Based in Greek mythology with a little present day feminism weaved in, A Tribute of Fire did not disappoint. While it took me a bit longer than usual to get hooked, once I WAS hooked...there was no going back. The pacing is impeccable, the characters well developed and the story is the perfectly crafted.

Lia is a headstrong, intuitive leader who'll do anything for the ones she loves, including sacrificing herself as Tribute in order to save her homeland. But what she finds in Ilionia is even more than she bargained for. A found family, a seemingly fated-love, and a quest that just might be the end of her and everyone she loves.

A Tribute of Fire is absolutely action-packed with a little romance and well-developed characters and it's a must read!

And after the ending, I can't wait for Book 2!

Favorite quote: "It's easier for women to believe in magic because we have the ability to make life and carry it inside us. We're already magic. And it is a magic no man will ever understand."

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Never did I imagine that a mythology inspired book would have me so enthralled. This book had so many (amazing) twist and turns in it. Every time I thought I had figured someone out, boom! I was wrong.
It's not very often I come across a book that I have to physically prevent myself from skipping ahead and ruining the surprise for myself.
Lia's story is captivating, mysterious and her character development is top notch. A certain someone in her life had me drawn in and then the big surprise had me literally speechless, jaw dropped, wondering what in the actual hell just happened.
The cliffhanger has me wishing this wasn't an ARC read and the second book was already out. Very well written and excited to learn more about Lia's fate.

thank you to the author for providing me a free arc of this novel in exchange for an honest review!

Lia, the princess of the dying and cursed desert nation of Locris, is one of two chosen maiden sacrifices forced to compete in a deadly race through Ilion, her enemy nation, and arrive at a temple to seek sanctuary. To date, no one has survived the race but Lia has been preparing for months but what she never prepared for was her beloved younger sister to be chosen as well. Forced to race through an unknown city, protect her sister, and find a way to save her dying country, Lia will do whatever she has to in order to succeed. Even if that means trusting the attractive yet mysterious Ilionian sailor, Jason.

This book was actually pretty fun! It pulled me out of a slump and I devoured it in a day. I love a good Greek mythology/Gods and Goddesses story and this one did not disappoint. I enjoyed the magic/lore and the themes of sisterhood. I wouldn't say the writing was the most beautiful and lyrical but it didn't take me out of the story, this is nitpicky of me but actually the mmc's name being Jason is what was constantly taking me out of the story. The twists were predictable but still fun to read and the enemies to lovers was pretty good! Maybe the romance felt a little rushed but the chemistry/attraction was well built, I could believe in their romance. Overall I enjoyed this story and am very excited to continue especially after that cliffhanger!

Finally a fantasy by one of my favorite authors. Sariah is fabulous at witty-swoony banter and now she has added fantasy to her repertoire and it's fantastic!!! Lia has been training all her life for one moment. She's planned and waited; however, all does not go as planned. She meets Jason along the way, and the banter and chemistry between these two is perfection. Weave into this story a little magic, a little mystery, family drama and a plot twist that had me speechless, and you have A Tribute of Fire. I would highly recommend this book.

I loved loved loved those story line! First ever Saraih Wilson book and it did not disappoint!

The story shortened is that Lia is a princess who goes to Illion for a chance to become an acolyte. She is selected because her half sister Quyhn was basically sent to be slaughtered by the townsmen in a sacrifice to the Eye of the Goddess. Their main goal is to get to the temple for safety before they’re killed. Quyhn sacrificed herself so Lia can make it to the temple. When arriving, they locked her out do she climbed the wall to get in. He is one of the first Locrian women to make it.

She becames an acolyte to a group of women and swear an oath to only serve the Goddess. On her journey, she learns trust, honesty, secrecy, how to protect herself more, uncovers mysterious truths and has a lover that is exposed to truly liking her despite knowing he’s deceiving her or unable to tell her his truths. And likewise, no one knows that she is a Princess with an agenda to help save her Kingdom.

In my opinion, it becomes funny that they both have secrets of identity and then get mad at eachother for both deceptions. The bigger story is yet to be revealed and finding the eye of the goddess still missing!
