4.25 ⭐️ I would just like to start out by saying thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for sending me a ARC of this book. I couldn't put this book down, I finished it in a day. I liked that it was dual POV. The two main characters Toni and Audrey had good chemistry even though they were complete opposites, they balanced each other out really well. I loved the story, it was believable and it made me laugh, the side characters were great and there was some good spicy scenes. The only thing that annoyed me a little was Audrey being so indecisive, I get why but I just wanted to slap her at one point. Overall I really enjoyed reading this book and I can't wait for the next one.

First of all, thanks Net galley and the author for the book arc. I enjoyed it a lot.

I don't know how I actually feel about this book. I liked it, but it's in debt with me. I'm like, waiting for the second movie :(

The ending was one of the sweetest things, but it was so fucking fast. One chapter to the big gesture?? They fight the majority of the last 10 chapters and that just made me so sad and angry. I was ready for them to be all love and butterflies, but everything was wrong. I was having a bad moment hah... But because it was going so good, and I was expecting so much, but it was short. I needed more. I liked the book, but I was expecting more resolution...

I mean, there was so much in there, a lot of sub plots that were ready to be developed: the ex, the therapy, Toni's problems with not feeling enough, Greta and Willa, the contract and what happens next, Toni's parents... But most of that things we're just undeveloped, leave it there. And yes, I understand that is a romance book, but still, I would read 200 more pages to satisfy my curiosity (sorry people I'm picky even with my romances, my mom would say that I overthink too much). I feel like, the construction of plot and characters was good, but the final development leave much to be desired. I mean, they weren't plain, but they seemed that way cause it was all romance, nothing of personal development.

I like both of the main characters a lot, I also liked the secondary characters, both sisters, I even want to read their story, what happens next?? They keep friends or something else?

Even when I don't like insta love tropes, I was invested, I mean, I was curious and expecting more, they were cute. The spice was interesting too, like, emotionally intense, not very long or descriptive but I could feel the connection in them. Also I have to say that a lot of stuff trigger a little cringe, like the mention of tomboy shorts a lot of times on the first four chapters, one wasn't enoug?? or some of the awkwardness between the mc's, I felt awkward myself and I wanted to hide.

Even when this book wasn't the perfect one, I enjoyed it a lot, a good weekend reading a cute romcom. If you want a light cute book, this one is a very good recommendation.

I found this book uneven. It starts big and bold with Audrey moving out on her cheating partner in a funny and epic way. She doubles down on that by having a hook up with Toni on the night of the break up. What they aren’t expecting is that on Monday Audrey and her sister are the hired consultants for Toni’s family business. They agree to try and keep things professional between them. And both their sisters are aware of the situation and keeping an eye on the pair.

I don’t want to give too many specifics and spoil the story. I did like how Audrey is able to help Toni at work. And I really enjoyed their flirting and even the unexpected flirting of their sisters. I wish that had gone somewhere in the story. But I was disappointed the story fell back to lack of communication and insta love. ANd for something being promoted as humorous I didn’t laugh much beyond a few lines. This is a cute and mindless story but I’d hoped for more growth for the characters during the book. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Special thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I should have know by the way this book was recommended with tropes that is wouldn’t be for me.

I didn’t feel like the characters or the plot were particularly fleshed out. Also one scene (that we were most likely supposed to find cute) just annoyed me.

About Last Night is the perfect amount of steam/spice & a quick, easy read. Sometimes romcoms can be cheesy and unbelievable, but Laura Henry nailed this element in her debut novel. I’m hoping for a sequel!

Aw I loved this book. I enjoyed the story and the drama but it was also romantic and believable. I’d really have loved more of Greta and Willa …… what is really going on there?!? A quick read but fun

I absolutely loved this book. It’s not often I read a romcom that isn’t cheesy. But I found this to be funny, entertaining and realistic. The main couple has its flaws and it’s ups and downs but for the most part, it was handled in a very healthy way.

The lgbtq+ representation was also really great. The forced proximity isn’t a trope I read often but I think it worked really well with this story. I do wish there was more to the book, the author definitely left me wanting more. It was a quick, fun and relaxing read.

In for a penny…
This debut novel by Laura Henry is a delight. I had so much fun reading the story of Audrey and Toni. It’s a story about opposites attracts and falling in love again after ending a toxic relationship.
The story is really entertaining, funny and spicy 🥵

I did miss some character development. Sometimes they jumped from one place to another. I would loved it if there were more attention for the healing of Audrey.

The side characters were excellent. The honesty, the unconditional love. I was there for it.

I would love to read more about Willa and Greta. Maybe in the future.

About Last Night is a short sapphic romance. What I loved about this book is that both Main Characters hold their grounds, in a respectful way, even if they can be clumsy about it. When something doesn’t work, they work toward fixing it. They communicate, which also help with understanding what they need.
I wish the book was a bit longer, so some more details could be added, like see Toni ‘move on’. Some parts felt a bit rushed.
But it’s a cute romance between two adults. It’s perfect for this Autumn or this Winter.

. Love love LOVE the witty and dry humor in this book.
. The chemestry between Willa and Audrey is wonderful to read und I love the development between Toni and Greta
. I am excited there will be a second book with all the characters because this book wasn't enough!
. All in all it is a funny feel good story.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. This book started out rough for me because I didn’t connect with the character right away. The start of this book seemed so unrealistic but I kept reading, and I’m glad I did. I actually really enjoyed this book once I got into it although I wouldn’t say it was “utterly hilarious”. The relationship between the main characters became more believable and I was able to really connect with both of the main characters. I also loved Greta and Willa and am hoping there will be a second book following those two characters as well. Three stars because I enjoyed it but wouldn’t necessarily recommend this book to anyone.

New job. New start. But you’re staring at your one-night stand.

Audrey and Toni’s story had all of the makings for a cute romcom. Fun to read, likable characters (and side characters), a little conflict, and some good spice. I enjoyed the tension caused by the will they or wont they get together and getting to see things develop between these two in dual POV served the story really well. I just wish said development would have continued a little more. I felt like the ending was a little too quick and abrupt. Overall enjoyable and there was a intriguing subplot with the side characters so I am looking forward to seeing where it goes in the sequel.

What I enjoyed;
✨ Lesbian Romcom
✨ Forced Proximity
✨ One Night Stand
✨ Dual POV

Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley for the advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.

After Last Night

Toni ❤️ Andrey
Author: Laura henry
Genre: Lesbian Romcom
Publication Date: 19 July

Tropes:
- Romcom
- Opposites Attract
- One Night Stand
- Workplace Romance
- LGBTQ+ Representation
- holiday vibes
- Sisterhood

✨ I picked up this book for its lovely cover and interesting tropes, and I wasn’t disappointed!

📚 After Last Night tells the story of Toni and Andrey, two characters who couldn’t be more different. Toni is a free-spirited mountain hiker, while Andrey is a professional workaholic.

📚The story starts with Andreys Breakup and their detailed one-night stand 😎😏🤭 and follows their unexpected reunion in the workplace as sort of business partners. Andrey helps Toni settle into the office, all while they struggle with a strong desire for each other.

📚 Toni wants Andrey to be her first serious relationship ❤️ whereas Andrey, fresh out of a toxic relationship, prefers to keep things casual.

🍁 I read this novel in one sitting—it was so interesting and fast-paced! I especially loved the depiction of sisterhood: Andrey and Willa share a close bond and communicate without words, while Toni and Greta have gaps in their communication and thoughts. The story also beautifully showcases the importance of family and I also like the brief info about toxic relationship and mentality of victims

✨ Initially, I adored Toni’s sweet and understanding nature. But Andrey won me over with her efforts to improve. Even the side characters were memorable, adding depth to the narrative.

✨ The novel is well-written, easy to read, and accessible to a wide audience. While I felt the ending was a bit rushed, overall, it’s a great light read.

📚 I recommend this book to anyone looking for a fast-paced and Cute romcom to read

I think this books reminds me of the absolute crave and wantingness of a pretty, spunky, sapphic love and that in itself makes me feel so giddy. I think I liked a lot of parts of this book, first the setting of the forbidden workplace relationship, that in itself explodes in tension. TONI is so sweet and cute and ahhhh I want to give her all the love in the world.

The only thing to really bug me about this book in the fact that it tries so hard to not be insta lovey but I'm sorry I dont care if I am perpetuating the stereotype of woman having intense emotional connections and I think it's harder to not have the sapphic love with A PERFECT SET UP not be insta lovey..

This was a fun, quick read! I finished it in just a few hours, and It was exactly what I expected it to be. The fact that it was forced proximity and a sapphic romance hooked me right away. The characters were well fleshed out and their relationships with each other were really fun to read and see how they developed. I especially loved the dynamics between Toni and Greta and Audrey and Willa and how they impacted the overarching plot. Willa was probably my favorite character, helping balance out some of the more serious parts of the book while still having her own personality and story.

I did think that the ending was a little abrupt, but still a satisfying end to the story. I'm definitely looking forward to the sequel that was teased to see where that story goes!

This was a wonderful lighthearted read; we followed Toni and Audrey’s story. We get more than just a romance, we also get a glimpse at sisterhood, toxic relationships and how they can affect the people involved as well as those around us.

This romance was exactly what I needed, the writing style is easy and flows, with a perfect amount of dialogue and inner monologue. Double POV, which really brings to the story. The characters are lovable and relatable. I was rooting for them to be together, as well as understanding the third act conflict, which I really liked, as it is a good representation of life, however I do think it could have been maybe written better, especially the reaction of others around them, I personally didn’t agree with who they thought was in the wrong and I felt very compassionate towards Audrey in that moment. The ending did feel slightly rushed, maybe a lack of closer and conversation about the third act break-up but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the book.

This book is full of women, for women, loving women and this was a breath of fresh air, I enjoyed that the focus of the queer romance was not about coming out, or exploring their sexuality, they know they both like women. The characters that follow the main characters are lovely and hopefully we might get to see more.

I would recommend this to many romance lovers, who want something easy and lighthearted that will make them smile and feel joyful.

I could not put down this book, and I read it in one night!

First of all, the steamy sex scene to open the book. Excellent! Realistic and honest.

Characters
Shae: Such a realistic retelling of her personality. I can name countless real-life lesbians just like her. An awful person (yay to the twin hating her!), and accurate.

Toni: Again, people like her exist in the world. Hot, sexy, "all the girls love her." Respected Audrey's boundaries! Another accurate description.

Audrey: I am dying to read about more professional, beautiful lesbians. I wasn't super happy when she cut her hair (although it worked well when she and Toni ran into each other in the office for the first time). I loved how she set boundaries. Loved the focus on her career.

I'm giving this 5 stars, although I'm not sure about the sisters getting tangled up in something. This wasn't quite developed enough to fully understand.

Setting
Denver is a great backdrop with the company and the mountains. I have actually been in real life to the only lesbian bar in Denver. Again, the accuracy is spot-on.

I posted a review to Goodreads and to my Insta!

About Last Night was such a fun read, it's not long and can 100% be read in one sitting. It’s more of a 3.5/5 than a 3 star read.

It follows Audrey who is just coming out of a horrible relationship. On her mission to break it off, she meets Toni (she’s amazing) and that’s the beginning of a journey she did not expect.

While I did enjoy the book there were some aspects I wished were done better. There were times it was a lot more tell rather than show. The emotional abuse scene during Christmas would have been a lot more impactful if we HAD seen more of Audrey and Shae with an E’s relationship. Audrey is not perfect she makes mistakes, and we did have some scenes where we saw her together with Shae with an E and were able to see how their relationship was Audrey’s reactions would make more sense. The book is pretty fast paced as well, so conflicts didn’t seem last long or sometimes feel like they came out of nowhere at times.

I did enjoy a lot of the aspects in the book the characters being one of them. Willa and Audrey’s relationship was such a highlight in the book. I loved their bond, they are there for each other (sometimes it’s more one sided) and their love forever each shines through every interaction they have.

Honest to god EVERYONE deserves a Willa in their life. She was there for Audrey every time she needed making sure she didn’t just coddle her, but also making sure she told her what she needed to hear not just what she wanted. This is a lighthearted quick read that is very enjoyable, it’s a turn-your-brain off and read this cute rom com type of story.

I loved this. The pacing is a bit off with not much happening in the middle and some big time jumps mid chapter but it was still such a fun read. Audrey and Toni balance each other well and I thought they were so cute together. I love a dual POV and it really helped show the chemistry. There are some great supporting characters and I cannot wait to read Willa's book becuase she is hilarious. It is a bit insta love but the slide into actual relationship is drawn out over several months. It's cute and fun with a touch of spice. Everything I look for in a romcom.
