I really enjoyed this book! I devoured it in one day and barely put it down, it was such a fast and easy read. It has a dual POV of the main characters, Audrey and Toni which I liked because I was able to see what the other was thinking. I liked Toni more than Audrey but loved their connection and thought it was a great read with some humour and drama. I also loved Willa and Greta and wish that I got more of them.
I don't usually mind the typical '3rd act breakup trope' if it is done well but this one all came down to their lack of communication skills which annoyed me a little bit.
Overall this is a really good and fun sapphic romance and I would love to read more of the author's work.

As soon as I started reading, I realised I'd already listened to the story, which was released in 2021, in audiobook, under the title Hold Me Closer, Toni Danzig. I wish this have been mentioned somewhere, as I wouldn't have requested this book. But since I did, here's the review I wrote in 2021:
3.5⭐️ – I had things to do around the house and needed a short audiobook to keep me company, and I remembered someone recommending this one on Facebook (I don’t remember who it was but thank you). It’s included in the Audible Plus subscription.

Most grand gestures aim at getting the girl, but who said you can’t break up with one too? Toni is DJ-ing karaoke at her friend’s bar when Audrey asks for the greatest break-up song of all time. Audrey is usually reserved when she comes to the bar, and Toni has always thought she was intriguing but never talked to her. When Audrey slays her performance then runs away, Toni follows to make sure she’s okay. Coffee turns into a wild night of sex (you’ll have to trust the author on that, it’s all fade to black). When they meet again unexpectedly in a professional setting, Audrey can’t help but reconsider her decision to only have a one-night stand with Toni, while Toni’s sister reminds her over and over she needs to keep it professional for the sake of the family business.

Okay, this novella was extremely sweet and funny (I love both sisters). I don’t often enjoy dual narration, and I’m still not sure why authors/publishers choose it, but I liked both narrators, Lori Prince as usual and Suehyla El-Attar who is a new narrator for me, despite the foreign accents being a tad forced. An enjoyable listen before Christmas.

A lesbian short romcom with Hallmark movie vibes. Nothing deep, nothing super posh or literary, just good old cringe, sexual tension and unrealistic scenarios. It's just fun!

This was a bit too insta love for me. However, I did enjoy the dual POV. Overall, I wasn’t very invested in the characters relationship or the outcome of the story.

This book was one of a series of romcom books I was reviewing so in that context, About Last Night was an okay read. I liked that it featured a queer romance but felt the spicy language felt more forced than authentic. Overall it felt a little meh - certainly wasn't one I devoured quickly - just kept going hoping it would get better.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author and it definitely won’t be my last. I thought it's was a cute and endearing queer romcom with both spice and plot. It gave me what I'm after in a romance, I would happily read more by this author.

I loved the beginning of this book. It started off strong with the one night stand and like 3 chapters of spice. I even loved when the next day she finds her one night stand at her new job. The writing was great and the story was interesting but it lost me in the last 30%.

things I didn't like:
- the miscommunication trope
- the lack of spice until the very end
- how we never get a conclusion with Audrey's crazy ex

Yall I wanted to love this one. I really did. But after the first 20% it just dragged. I picked it up and put it down no less than five times. Unfortunately this one just wasn't for me.

This novel tells the story of Audrey, a girl who, from the very beginning, we see is going to leave her current partner because she is in a toxic relationship. While her sister is emptying the apartment where she lived with her ex, Audrey goes to the bar they used to visit and sees her ex enter with another girl in a romantic way. Upon seeing this, she gets on stage and sings a breakup song. As she leaves, the DJ follows her, and they go out for dinner, later ending up at her place. But the last thing Audrey wants right now is a relationship, and she makes it clear to Toni: it was just a one-night thing, and it's over.

But when Monday comes, and Audrey and her sister arrive at the new company that has hired them, she can't believe the first thing she does is run into the person she least expected to see... and everything that follows.

This is a book with strong and well-developed characters. However, one of our protagonists exhibits some very "red flag" behaviors, and while the book addresses these, I think it's important to mention, as every relationship resolves differently, but it’s also crucial to know how to manage these situations.

An entertaining book that reads quite quickly, where we get to know two completely different families. I really liked how it portrays these two perspectives on life, their family, and personal situations. We get Audrey's point of view, as I mentioned, she has just come out of a toxic relationship, and then there's Toni, a girl who has always been with people for just one night and not in relationships.

I really enjoyed this sapphic romance. The characters were interesting and unique and the storyline was interesting. The sexy scenes were hot!! I can’t wait to read the next one in the series.

Cute romance! Characters are fun, side characters as well! I also enjoyed the storyline. I did feel it was all moving really fast, and that there were not a lot of cutesy fluff moments. This is however a personal preference.

Loved this! Flew threw half of it on a flight and couldn't wait to get home to finish the other half. Loved the characters and dynamics created between the 4 main characters. The only thing I thought was missing was a satisfying conclusion to what happened between Greta & Willa - that felt a little bit unfinished in my opinion.

I was really captivated by "About Last Night"! The blend of brilliant dialogue, relatable characters, and steamy moments make it a standout romance novel. Audrey and Toni's perspectives bring depth to the story, and the inclusion of their sisters' relationships adds an extra layer to the narrative. I was hooked from the moment Audrey stepped on stage to sing the ultimate breakup song right through to the find period. The endearing characters captured my heart and I can't wait to see more of all of them in Laura Henry’s next novel!

About Last Night is a fun lesbian rom-com with characters who have real heart. Toni and Audrey fall in lust and have an amazing one night stand after Audrey breaks up with her toxic ex. But she is starting a new chapter - new apartment, new job, new hair. Audrey is ready to tackle the world with Willa, her twin, but on the first day of her new project, Toni just happens to there - because it is her family's business. Hijinks and miscommunications ensue, but both Audrey and Toni are ready to make a new start. But will it be together?

This was a cute sapphic romance by Laura Henry. I think our patrons will definitely like About Last Night and we will be purchasing a couple of copies for the collection. Thank you!

Post break-up with her toxic ex, Audrey goes home with a beautiful woman for an unforgettable but definitely one time experience. Until she goes into her first day at her new job and quite literally bumps into her boss - the very woman she had a one night stand with.

An easy read with a good progression between the two main characters. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Audrey and Toni. The side characters were also very interesting. Kept me invested.

This book could have been excellent. However, at less than 300 pages, I felt like it was missing so much. I liked the characters and I enjoyed how different they were and how that was written. I just wanted MORE.

This book was wonderful and un-put-down-able! The exposition wasn't overly done, and I loved how we jumped straight into the plot. The chemistry between Toni and Audrey was so good, it had me giggling.

All the characters were great, Willa in particular! Loved the spice, the strong friendships and, of course, the love story. I laugh, cried, and swooned over these two.

Definitely recommend this one!

Unfortunately as much as I wanted to enjoy this story, it just wasn’t for me. I just don’t think I’m the target audience and found the sex scenes spanning 3 chapters a bit much. Too much detail here and not much detail in the build up of how they got to this point.
