I love an "I came to this place for beauty and actually found nothing but terror" story, especially when it's paired with the fact that something terrible has happened in the past and it might be happening again now. Some of my favorite elements and Leah wrote them into a terrifying, scenic thrill ride.

Overall pretty good. It's fast paced and twisty but started to feel a bit rushed near the end. Still enjoyable and mostly unpredictable

3/5 stars

I cannot decide how I felt about this book. I loved parts and hated others. The writing was good. After reading this book, I read more books by these authors, but I’m not sure I would recommend this one specifically.

This book kept me on my toes the whole way through.
I did not figure out the plot twist, which is not something I say lightly.
It is my first by this author, but will definitely not be my last. I look forward to her future works.

You Are Not Alone by Leah Cupps is a gripping psychological thriller with a haunting atmosphere and plenty of suspense. The story keeps you engaged with well-placed twists, though some parts feel a bit predictable. The characters are compelling, but a little more depth in their dvelopment would have made the story even stronger. Despite that, the tension and intrigue make it a hard book to put down. A solid 3.75 starsengaging, suspenseful, and worth the read for thriller fans.

Natalie is looking forward to spending a romantic weekend with Hudson her boyfriend. He’s booked a luxury AirBNB on a private island, a guarantee of time alone…..or will it be.
The boat journey to the island is rough and it’s not long before Natalie is being sick, not the start she wanted. Once they dock she thinks she sees a shadowy figure, convincing herself it must be animals. Once in the house she discovers lipstick marks on the wine glass, the cleaners must have missed it.
Her unease continues when she discovers the diary of Tess McDermott who went missing from the island the year before. It’s clear from the entires that Tess believes someone was trying to kill her. The more entries Natalie reads the more she’s convinced she needs to uncover the islands secrets.
This is a fast paced thriller, it hooked me quickly, my suspicions were correct in places but definitely not in others. I rated it 4 star as I really did enjoy but their wasn’t a jaw dropping moment but a good solid thriller and I will definitely look to read more of Leah’s books.
Thank you NetGalley, Leah Cupps and Inkubator Books for this ARC, all opinions expressed are my own.

You are not alone by Leah Cupps was full of drama, suspense and murder, which made it a great book, I ended up gripped and reading it in one sitting. It was a book that will have you turning your pages quickly to find out what happens next and I loved reading it.

Natalie and her boyfriend Hudson have booked a romantic weekend in a luxury Airbnb on a private island in rural Montana. Perfect But when they get there, it’s everything she hoped it would be, it's beautiful and totally secluded and so peaceful.

At last, they are alone, time to relax from their hectic schedules and just enjoy each other.

But, as the sun sets on their first day, a terrible storm hits, it knocks all the out the power and trapping them on the island. Then, Natalie sees a shadowy figure lurking around the property and finds lipstick marks on a wine glass - a shade she never wears.

Ohhhhhhhhh - This so Good...........

It seems they are not alone. Who is there with them?

This book is full of brilliant twists and turns throughout and I highly recommend it.

Big Thank you to NetGalley and Inkubator Books for my ARC.

It's a good beginning by an author when after a few paragraphs the reader has already drawn an opinion of the main character. Natalie was a self centered, money driven, status oriented kind of woman and I didn't like her.
Then there was the nice guy boyfriend who she dated that appeared sweet and devoted; surely too nice for her. It didn't take too many chapters to change my opinion.
A romantic visit to a secluded island wreaks terror when an unexpected guest wreaks havoc with the pair. It's then that their pasts are revealed to the reader and those first impressions are revised.
A quick and exciting read with the expected twist to keep the reader engaged till the end.

This writing duo’s third release proved to be my least favorite of the bunch. Absent this time around was the compulsive page-turning quality of Hendricks and Pekkanen’s first two novels. Unlike its predecessors, You Are Not Alone is hum-drum, tedious even. Some might say, the epitome of predictable. The kiss of death in this genre, if ever there was one.

While told from multiple perspectives, You Are Not Alone centers around Shay, a book-smart statistician living in the heart of New York City. Single, jobless, and tortured by the reality that her roommate/crush continues to get cozier with his girlfriend, Shay is the definition of lonely.

Mere coincidence lands Shay on a subway platform the moment a woman chooses to leap to her death. Naturally, haunted by what she’s witnessed and unable to let go of the woman's empty eyes, Shay finds herself at the memorial service. And unbeknownst to her, directly in the crosshairs of two conniving sisters, Cassandra and Jane.

Hendricks and Pekkanen attempt to sell Shay as a woman that lets loneliness override rationality or even common sense. Given her analytical mind allows her to evaluate the statistics of any scenario, I wasn’t buying it. Yet, readers are expected to contend with a hefty dose of naivety on Shay’s part and the plethora of coincidences that take shape when the sisters step onto the scene.

Another aspect that knocked this one down a peg was the so-called twist. Or more fitting, the revelation. One that makes itself known pretty late in the game, failing in many respects to enhance the story in any capacity. Reeking more of a last-ditch effort to inject shock and awe into what feels like a lifeless experience.

Overarching my discontent with the storyline, and the lackluster revelation, was my inability to succumb to the words. To find that level of reading nirvana where the words drift way, allowing the story to take over. The culprit, the complete lack of nuance. Repetitive transitions and uninspiring sentence structures bogged down by useless minutia made this a snoozefest. Literally. The flat tone proving to be a saving grace while battling my pregnancy insomnia at 2 am.

This entire experience is one I'd mark as a throwaway. A book that offers little in terms of surprise, storyline arc, or even writing. Leading me to contemplate a step back from this genre and the overhyped releases that taunt me at every turn.

lets start with I love the twist!!!! I liked Natalie and Hudson as a couple but she was kinda selfish and self centered I think. I thought it was a quick read once I got around to it. this was a good thriller to get me out of a slump. gives me Natalie Preston vibes. over all I enjoyed it and id recommend it to friends who like a quick, easy to get Into read.
thank you net galley for this copy so sorry it took so long.

This was a good book and had an interesting twist to it. I thought it kept me on my feet and was something I would say could fall into the thriller category. But at the same time it felt very typical of other thriller books.

I wasn't 100% sold on this unfortunately! I will say, I loved the setting, it felt very creepy and isolated. However, the story and the characters left me a bit unsatisfied overall.

Natalie has found Mr. Right! Hudson is all she wanted and is looking forward to their trip away to a rural island in Montana (which I never knew existed!) and is hoping for a ring at the end of it. Strange things start to happen and there are alot of twists that happen throughout. Enjoyed the pace and how it tied together at the end. I liked the dual point of view and how interesting their relationship was throughout. I did find it to be a page turner and am looking forward to more books by this author.

You Are Not Alone Review!

I immediately grabbed this one after I saw it was set on Flathead Lake in Montana. Seriously one of my favorite places to visit!! And it was on a seceluded island? Sign me up!

I’d be shocked if the book will be published as it is with the major plot holes in this one. I had to read the prologue 3 times to see if I misread something. I didn’t. It really felt like the prologue and epilogue were added in at very last minute for no reason at all. While I did like the story and the setting, I was very frustrated that I read 5 hours with a book that couldn’t go back to the proglouge and check the plot? 1.5/5 ⭐️

The setting of this book was really good for the plot twists and the mystery/thriller aspect, but however I found it difficult to connect with the characters. Natalie and Hudson, while unique, felt kind of dull, as if they were stereotypical horror characters. Not only was she portrayed as snobbish, but her boyfriend didn't match up with her personality. It started off fairly slow, which I couldn't get behind.

I needed a quick guilty pleasure thriller to pull myself out of a slump and this did the trick. I read it in a sitting and stayed entertained.
