The whole point of a secluded getaway is that it's a place where you can be alone with the person you love. But as Natalie and her boyfriend Hudson soon discover, their luxury lodgings on a private island in Montana are far from secure, let alone secluded.

After a storm knocks out the power, and communication systems become unreliable, they start spotting signs indicating that they are not alone. And really, the last thing anyone wants is to be stuck in an isolated location with potentially dangerous strangers.

The tension is ratcheted up further after the discovery of a diary belonging to a woman who used to live there before. She was clearly in fear of her life, which begs the question, is the same person she was terrified of currently watching Natalie and Hudson?

This is an atmospheric and suspenseful read. And while the trope is a familiar one, it is entertaining nevertheless!
