⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This Book ❤️
I just love Kristen Bailey books - They are always filled with adorable storylines, wonderful characters & have so much quirky and funny moments throughout that it's hard to find fault with anything and this book is the perfect example of a flawless romance read.
Textbook Romance is perhaps my favourite book of Kristens. It is a definate & worthy 5 stars from me and I just adored it.
I was hooked from the very beginning and read it in one sitting.
Kristen always gives us such a character driven story and what wonderful characters we got in this one. (Everyone needs a Jack in their Life)
Textbook Romance is a contemporary romance book featuring an age gap relationship but it also includes some heavy topics - Cheating, divorce, helping children navigate new family dynamics - (to name a few) so dont expect just a standard rom com or the usual love story ~ It is so much more than that.
It is not like other Romance books (which is a good thing IMO as a lot of them can come across as very samey and soppy and not at all like real life.
Zoe (44) and Jack (29) meet at a wedding on the night Zoe finds out her husband of 20+ years has been cheating on her with her best friend.
Zoe is a mum to two kids and is a maths teacher at a local high school.
Not long after her initial meeting of Jack at their friends wedding, she runs into him again at work and it turns out he's got a new job as a teacher at the school she teaches at.
They hit it off and the story of their relationship continues from there.
Zoe is quite a few years older than Jack and in the midst of her impending divorce (and with all her life baggage) - she struggles a lot with the age difference as the attraction between them grows.
The different stages of life they are both at certainly makes their romance far from smooth sailing.
This is such a lovely story guys - really natural and genuine and felt real as opposed to just a fairytale romance (Some Romance books tend to be far fetched and unbelivable at times but this book was neither)
The character dynamics were what made it a 5 star read, for me. It is an uplifting read filled with witty humour and a sweet love story but also explores the complexities of real life - the breakdown of a marriage and the start of a new relationship.
Told from the POV of both Jack and Zoe, which I really liked, It was nice to hear the story told from both their point of view.
And can I just say ... I LOVED the ending ❤️
This was such an easy book to immerse myself into and I enjoyed everything about it!
Thanks so much to Netgalley and the author Kristen Bailey for an ARC of this one in exchange for my honest review.

This was a light, funny feel-good rom com. It was an enjoyable read and had a solid, if slightly predictable storyline to it.
This is exactly the kind of book that I enjoy reading so thank you for letting me read and review.

Textbook Romance by Kristen Bailey is an adorable rom-com. I thoroughly enjoyed it; it was difficult to put down. You should definitely read this book!
I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was a quick and enjoyable read. Some really funny moments and the banter between the two MC's was entertaining. At times the pacing felt a little off but the story was full of heart and relatable content which I loved.

Textbook Romance by Kristen Bailey is a witty, heartwarming read that blends humor with romance perfectly. The characters are relatable, and the chemistry between the leads is undeniable. The dialogue is sharp and funny, making the story both entertaining and emotional. While the plot is somewhat predictable, the well-developed characters and enjoyable writing make it a standout in the rom-com genre. A solid 4 stars—charming, fun, and definitely worth the read.

Textbook Romance is a delightful, feel-good story that blends humor, heart, and a touch of chemistry. Zoe Swift’s journey from heartbreak to rediscovering love with the charming and funny Jack Damon is both refreshing and relatable. The age gap dynamic adds an interesting layer of complexity, especially as Zoe navigates life as a single mom and the aftermath of her husband's betrayal. The chemistry between Zoe and Jack is electric, and their banter is pure fun. With witty moments, heartfelt growth, and a great balance of humor and emotion, this romance is a captivating read. Perfect for fans of contemporary love stories!

This is a good book. The two main characters are Zoe and Jack. They meet at a wedding where they both know the groom. While they are talking Zoe gets a call from her daughter saying her father (Zoe’s husband) was at a restaurant with another woman. There was an attraction. Zoe and her husband are divorcing. Jack gets a job at her school. They try to be friends. They go at her speed. They fall in love.

I really enjoyed this. It had the right balance of spice and excitement and character development to feel good for me.

I really liked this romcom. The characters were great and the humor was absolutely delightful. I thought it was well written. Jack & Zoe both left lasting impressions on me. I would definitely highly recommend this one.

This was my first read from Kristen Bailey and it definitely won't be my last. I know romcoms have a bit of a reputation for being shallow or lacking depth, but Kristen Bailey has proven with this novel that her stories can be lighthearted and fun while still providing depth and excellent writing. I'll definitely check out more of her books

This is my second Bailey, really fascinated by sex ed so I was interested in this one, however this was a bit of a let down. The beginning was slow and predictable, I wish I was more motivated in reading it. Still enjoy her writing though and would read her other works!
Thank you Netgalley for the arc.

SCRUMPTIOUS AS HELLL I LOVE A GOOD ROMANCE AND THIS REALLY HIT THE SPOT FOR ME!! I’LL NEVER TOLERATE ANY HATE ON THIS!

Kristen Bailey never fails to make me laugh out loud! Textbook Romance is a hilarious and uplifting workplace romance is filled with witty banter, relatable characters, and plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. The chemistry between the leads is fantastic, making it a thoroughly enjoyable read. If you’re looking for a feel-good romantic comedy, this one is for you.

Thank you Net Galley, Kristen Bailey, and for an E-ARC copy of this book...way back in the summer
This was a cute British read about two people finding love after marital struggles/ending and discovering the need to adult more in the real world. This is an age gap romance which I don't often read but this book changed my opinions on significantly. Both of the characters were easy to fall in love with and enjoy their building chemistry.

This book is funny, well-written, and, most importantly, extremely relatable. The author writes about the heartbreak and betrayal with a lot of sensitivity, but also humour. This book is built on humour and raw emotion, and trust me, you must read it.

Steamy and page-turning rom-com about Zoe and Jack - when both of their paths cross and Zoe’s life has been turned upside down, they come together and become a perfect match.

A super sweet romance! A bit slow and at times I wanted the pacing to change a bit, but overall I really enjoyed the world building and the characters' perspectives. I loved also getting a teacher main character, because I also am a teacher and can be relating to some of the characters.

If you love a rom-com then you’ll love this one. Almost made it to 5 stars but up against some big books in my 5 star rating. Lovely though. One to pick up when you can and not leave on your TBR.

This book had workplace romance, single parent, age gap (44 & 29), dual POV and divorce. I was really looking forward to the development of the two main characters. I felt like there was a bit too much focus on the divorce. I wish there was more of Jack and Zoe's story together. However, what I did like was that there was a slow-burn and that neither of them just jumped into the relationship.
