First of all, the cover of this book is stunning, and it got my attention straight away!
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and Azaela Press for this ARC.
I found this book to be full of everything that I love in fantasy with some modern and unique twists that offered a refreshing change - be warned though, there is a brutal cliffhanger that has definitely left me needing the next part of the story!
Asherah is about to leave home and start her dream job when she is thrust into a world she never knew existed and soon discovers that she is heir to their throne. While adjusting to the unknown and navigating her new life, she quickly finds herself under threat and must fight to prove herself worthy of her new title.
With fae, magic, court intrigue, and romance, this will make a great holiday read when it publishes on 23rd July

4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you’re looking for a fantasy book that is both a quality story and spice - this is the book for you! This book is so incredibly easy to get into, and you will find yourself familiar with certain tropes but it’s definitely a more unique take & story - I loved it!
What I liked:
- super easy to get into
- the world building was very easy to follow. (I find usually that world building can be dry or slow if it’s complex, but S.T does a fantastic job of Introducing and explaining things in such a way that it’s very easy to understand while not losing its intricacies)
- the world and concept itself is fricken cool & refreshing
- the main couple! Seriously a power house - I love how strong they BOTH are and how much they both matter
- no miscommunication or lack of communication. Doesn’t that just grind your gears when the main couple annoyingly doesn’t communicate?! Well, it grinds mine and that doesn’t happen in this book
- fated mates & how the “touch her and die” doesn’t impact Asherahs ability to have friends of the opposite sex. It’s not a suffocating “touch her and die” it was a really refreshing version of this popular trope
- the cover. It’s so beautiful. I don’t think I’ve ever praised a cover in a review before, but here we are I love the cover
What I didn’t like and the only reason I didn’t give 5 stars:
- the antagonists gets away with way too much! more than once too!
- Asherahs character continuing the a trope of “I’m so sorry, this isn’t fair to you” I can’t explain further without spoilers but let’s just say it’s unnecessary; once or twice I understand but it feels like it happens a lot more than necessary
- the predictability, most of it is very obvious - which I actually don’t mind, but it was the naivety of the characters that bothered me. I can’t go into it as I want to avoid spoilers.
100% recommend this book to anyone who likes
- fantasy
- romance & spice
- unique world
- badassary - there are some pretty awesome moments for our FMC
Thank you so much to The Publisher Azalea Press ,The Author S.T. Fernandez & NetGalley for an advanced reader copy (ARC)

First things first, the cover is so pretty. This was a unique storyline that kept me interested throughout the book. The only thing i struggled with is that the antagonist(s) were able to get away with the things that happened with no consequences more than once! I can’t wait to see how it continues in book 2.

Thank you to NetGalley and Azalea Press for the ARC
A great start to a new fantasy series. I've been on the hunt for more mermaid book, but now I'm only longing for the next novel in this sea fae kingdom. The worldbuilding was exquisite and I could vividly imagine everything in my head. Great writing. The characters felt so real and I was enganged in their story. I'm looking forward to see what more the author comes up with, because I can't wait for the next book

You had me at marine biologist and now couldn’t lose me if you tried. Right from the start, I was hooked which is an easy way of saying the pacing was great. We waste no time at the beginning and get right into things.
The characters felt like real people which is not always easy to do when incorporating fantasy. They felt familiar even though this was the first time meeting them. The setting of Atlantis and all the underwater scenes were described very well (as a scuba diver, I really appreciate those details).
It is summer beach read meets fantasy executed in a way that’s fun and accessible! I can’t wait for the rest of the series. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

I received this book as an ARC from Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op. The Veiled Heir is a fantasy/romance story that takes place in Atlantis. There is a lot of world-building in the book, and the author is at her strongest when writing about the realms and political intrigue. Asherah is a normal twenty something living in the Florida keys and looking to a career in marine biology when she discovers that her parents have kept a very big secret. There is spice in the story, but I actually found that the story itself was strongest and most interesting outside of the spice. I look forward to reading more in the series.

When I read, it plays like a movie in my head, and S.T Fernandez did a great job describing everything. Definitely don't recommend for anyone under 18 but over 18 I would definitely recommend
