I really loved this book! It’s the perfect domestic thriller with plenty of twists throughout. I raced through it in almost one sitting. I’ve not read much by this author, however I’ll definitely be looking out for more in future.

I always read Maria’s books as soon as they come out. She has a way of writing that keeps your interest throughout. You can’t help but feel for the poor protagonist and his journey to prove his innocence. And I loved the way the story was told in multiple POV. Some of the domestic violence was very troubling; however, it was realistic. It certainly shows how petty disagreements can turn into ugly violence. It really wasn’t difficult to figure out part of the twist. Unfortunately I didn’t care for the final ending. But that didn’t stop me from enjoying the reading journey. Thanks to NetGalley for this ARC.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this arc. Paul is accused of murdering his wife. No one believes he’s innocent. Their little girl, Emily, is refusing to speak. An outstanding domestic thriller, with gaslighting, abuse and twists that you’ll never believe!!!

The Married Couple by Maria Frankland is a compelling and twist-filled domestic psychological thriller.

The story starts right off with a stabbing of Michelle, and her husband Paul is arrested. Emily, their 6-year-old daughter, is in the house and may have witnessed what happened.

The story involves domestic violence and emotional abuse. The story is told from multiple viewpoints, which seemed to work for the most part. It was sometimes hard to figure out the timeline as there was not segue or mention when something shifeted. I did have the plotline figured out, but, overall, a good weekend read.

I would rate this a 3.75 out of 5 stars; the plot has been done before and it was a bit obvious how the story would turn out.

I just love Maria's books, you never know just what you're going to get! This is another one if her exceptionally well written, domestic thrillers. I really didn't know which direction this was going to take initially. It ended nothing like I thought! I loved it, full of twists and deceptions, a fab read.

What is there not to love about this book? That's a very good question and I honestly cannot name one thing.

The writing style is very fluent, the characters are great and I liked the premise. The author also manages to leave my mind in dubio the whole time. I could not really decide whether I found myself in the 'I believe their story' or the 'I don't buy it at all' team.

I had my eye on something I found suspicious and it seemed I was right about that, but I had not expected this outcome.

This is a great domestic and I admired and felt for Paul at the same time. He says he did not kill his wife. Now it's up to the jury to decide whether he can walk away or remain locked up.

I have utterly enjoyed every book I have read by this author and this one is no exception. 5 stars

Thank you

Recently I've read a lot from this author as they are the master of psychological thrillers. So when I saw this you've no idea how excited I was to delve in.
Now I have to say in my opinion this is the authors best book yet! It is absolutely outstanding. The amount of twists especially towards the end of the book.. my god I couldn't believe it. The storyline definitely opens your eyes and makes you aware of how things aren't as they seem. Honestly that ending is fantastic. This will definitely be heading straight to the top of the bestsellers list.

Many thanks to netgalley, the author and bookouture for approving my request to read this book.

Well what can I say? I absolutely loved this book and tore through it at break neck speed, it even kept me up last night as I had to know how it was going to end.

The married couple is a domestic thriller which starts with Michelle being found in their holiday home by her husband Paul after being brutally attacked. After this the story then focuses on who done it and what really did happen that fateful day.

This book truly made me feel such a mix of emotions, horror, empathy, anger and sadness especially for Paul and Michelle's young daughter Emily, my heart just broke for her and I kept thinking about her throughout. This books gives such an insight into what really can happen behind closed doors and I feel the subject matter in this book isn't talked about enough.

I can't really say much more as I don't want to spoil anything but I'd really recommend this book, it's one of Maria's best!

Is the husband guilty? Secrets and red herrings kept me guessing. Murder and mayhem. Friends and family. Recipe for intrigue. Realistic characters kept the story moving quickly. This talented author has written a page turner. The perfect couple. Really? Maybe not. Try to discern the ending but not too soon. Thanks Netgalley
