Jeffrey Archer has done it again! 'An Eye for an Eye' is another unputdownable pageturner featuring Chief Superintendent William Warwick and Inspector Ross Hogan and their adversaries Miles Faulkner and Booth Watson. This is the 7th novel in the excellent William Warwick series. It feels like you are accompanying old friends on their adventures. But it can also be easily read as a standalone.
A Saudi Arms deal, art forgeries, politics, family heirlooms, death sentences, friendships - this novel combines them all to a fast paced plot with many twists!
Many thanks to NetGalley and HarperCollins UK for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Jeffery Archer is and has been a great writer of some fantastic mystery books. And this one didn't disappoint for sure. When a billion dollar deal goes horribly wrong and a murder is on the cards this is a story of wealth, royalty, revenge and so much more. As part of a series these are all books you will want to read if you love a good murder mystery.
A well paced book that will keep you entranced, so much so that you won't want to put it down. William Warwick is doing what he does best and continues to thrill us, intrigue us and keep us reading. The story itself is full of twists and turns, is cleverly written and has some great characters (old and new).
It took me no time at all to read this book as it was exciting and entertaining and another great addition to an already wonderful series.
Thank you NetGalley and HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.
I absolutely adore this series. This is the 7th in the series but can be read as a standalone, but you may well find yourself going back and reading the previous one.
The quick wittedness of all the characters is just astounding.
Completely unputdownable, fast paced, each trying to get one over on the other but will the good guys get there in time again. Don't just read my waffle, just pick up the book and find out for yourself!!!
Thank you to Harper Collins UK, HarperFiction, Jeffrey Archer and Netgalley for an ARC in return for an honest review.
The latest in the William Warwick series and it doesn’t disappoint. We are reintroduced to many of our favourite characters and also some new ones.
This story takes us to Saudi Arabia and part of the plot is about an arms deal that goes spectacularly wrong.
As with all Jeffrey Archer books there are many twists and turns and some clever and unexpected outcomes. This book leaves us on a knife edge and I can’t wait to read the next (which I believe will be the last in.this successful series ☹️).
Thank you to Net Galley and the publisher for and advanced copy in exchange for an unbiased review.
Lord Hartley, the latest in a line of peers going back over two hundred years, lies dying. But his will triggers an inheritance with explosive consequences. Another death thousands of miles away, an arms deal about to go wrong. Could they be linked & how? William Warwick & Ross Hogan have their work cut out.
The seventh book in the series, as I love series & I have to start from the beginning I’d recommend doing so but this book could be read on its own. Another well written page turner with twists, turns & red herrings. The characters have depth & the pace is good. I make no bones about loving the author’s books & have since his first release many moons ago. He’s a master storyteller & draws me in each time. Yes you have to suspend belief occasionally but it doesn’t spoil my enjoyment. My only quibble is that the book ended on a cliff hanger so I’ve a year to wait for what happens next
I voluntarily read and reviewed a special copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own
I really enjoyed the most recent William Warwick - I think it might be my favourite among the most recent books in this series. Fast paced, easy to read and full of characters we know and love. Would highly recommend, particularly to fans of Jeffrey Archer.
I didn’t realise this was the 7th in a series when I requested it but it reads fine as a standalone.
The plot is intriguing & different from what I’d normally read, a real page turner filled with suspense, lies & corruption.
★★★

I want to thank NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for the opportunity to review this book.
You know you’re always in for a great read when you’re looking at the latest Jeffrey Archer novel. This one is no exception, cleverly written and full of the twists and turns you’d expect. Highly recommended
This is part of a series but can be read as a standalone novel. A story full of twists and turns, backstabbing and treachery. Deals are done in high (and low) places and corruption abounds. Forgery, arms deals, revenge and red herrings galore are masterfully woven into a compelling political thriller. I thoroughly recommend it.
Jeffrey Archer never fails to draw me in keep me turning the pages. Number seven in the fantastic Warwick series.Full of political back stabbing tension & humor.# netgalley #aneyeforaneye.
Another unputdownable book, this time Archer is daring to expose Saudi Arabia in all it worst activities. Archer’s familiarity with the upper echelons of British society are also used to good purpose. I strongly recommend this book. If this isn't a book to brag about I don't know what is... I started it late last night. Never did I anticipate I would be closing the book at 1am left in complete shock... This book was insane!
Thank you NetGalley for a copy of an eye for an eye I fully enjoyed it, it was fast paced it’s about corruption , lies, forgery and thriller loved the plot and funny at times first time time reading a jeffery archer and won’t be the last 4 star read
Book 7 in the William Warwick Series and the continuation of the Chief Superintendent Warwick and Miles Faulkner feud brings us a couple of ingenious plots involving multi billion arms deals and an historical document. This is classic Archer stuff and as always it’s a quick but compelling read.
Briefly, the Hartley family hold a genuine historical document in their possession. However when the Rt Honorable John Hartley dies, his son Simon is in a potentially deadly situation following a scam played on him in Saudi Arabia. Enter Miles Faulkner, released from prison and determined to gain revenge on the Warwick family whilst earning some ill gotten gains for himself.
So many twists and turns it almost made me dizzy trying to keep up. High level foreign government corruption, art forgery and a desperate attempt to prevent an unlawful execution amongst so much else; this book has it all. Non stop action and another highly entertaining read, with a cliffhanger that’s clearly leading us to the next and potentially final book in this series.
Thank You for the opportunity to read An Eye for an Eye by Jeffrey Archer.
I didn't know it was a series but not having read the prior books didn't hamper understanding this one.
A formula story, I would say. Worth a one-time read, if you must.
Not one of his best stories that will stay with you long after reading.
Another fabulous read in the William Warwick series with an explosive ending!
I really enjoyed this book and I learned a lot about art and history as always. I end up putting the book down to search the art and back stories as I get so fascinated by the descriptions.
I cannot wait for the next book in the series and to see what happens next to Warwick and co.
Plenty of back stabbing and petty revenge to keep readers turning the pages as we return to the world of William Warwick. Couple that with international politics and Archer delivers a punchy, fast moving crime saga. Thank you to Netgalley for the advance reader copy.
Thanks to NetGalley, publishers and author for an ARC of An Eye for An Eye.
This book is part of a series, which I have not read the previous installments. To this fact, I found there were a lot of characters to try wrap my head around. Once I got an idea of who's who, I found the book unputdownable. I will be reading previous books in this series, and I'm already looking forward to the next one.
Recommend read
4.5 stars
Another great instalment in the William Warwick saga, although this book is more about his colleague Ross Hogan, than William Warwick himself, but it's a good stance as William's getting higher up in the rankings, so probably wouldn't be so involved as previously but gives out the orders..
As usual Jeffery Archer is a master story teller that keeps you engaged from beginning to end with his excellent writing style and many lifelike details with so many twists and turns along the way.
Simon Hartley is send to Saudi to win an arms deal but things go horribly wrong and he ends up in jail for a murder he didn't commit. In the meantime Miles is about to be released from prison and is hell bent on getting even with William and his family. All the usual characters we have met in the series earlier all play their part and great to see the character development including Christina, Booth Watson, Williams family and his team.
A massive thanks to Netgalley and the publisher HarperCollins UK, HarperFiction for the opportunity to read and revie this book. I look forward to reading the next and final book in the series out Autumn 2025. I'm very keen to find out if Miles and his lawyer get what they deserve but I'm sure it will be a fun and bumpy ride whatever happens.
As usual with a Jeffrey Archer book, it doesn't take long to be involved with the characters, intrigued in how they're going to resolve the situations they find they're in and hoping that for the right outcome.
This wasn't the first in this series I've read but really need to go back and read them from the first as they're so enjoyable and clearly there's more to come as this wasn't an expected ending.
It's well written, well paced and keeps you wanting to keep reading.
Another fantastic addition to the William Warwick series! I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. Jeffrey Archer is a masterful storyteller who keeps readers captivated from beginning to end.
Inmate number 4602, also known as Miles Faulkner, is about to be released from prison after serving a three-year sentence for attempting to steal the Crown Jewels. One might assume that he has learned his lesson and abandoned his attempts to bring down William Warwick, but that is far from the truth. He has spent three years meticulously planning his revenge on the Warwick family, and this time, he believes he has an infallible plan.
Simon Hartley has been dispatched to Saudi Arabia to negotiate a significant arms deal. The British are in fierce competition with the French to secure this agreement. Unfortunately, he soon finds himself in grave trouble when he is framed and unjustly imprisoned. Everyone involved has been bribed, leaving only one British citizen who can attest to his innocence. This puts her life in grave danger. Ross Hogan is tasked with flying to Riyadh to ensure her safety, uncover the truth, and safely escort her back to the United Kingdom.
Will they be able to secure Simon's release amidst the efforts of numerous corrupt officials determined to thwart their plans? Will Miles finally succeed in outsmarting William?
You will have to read this book to find out!
Thank you to NetGalley and Harper Collins UK for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion
