When I read I want to escape reality. I know it was only a short/small section but the addition of the pandemic and BLM/GF really just ruined the book for me. I don’t want to step away from my day to sit down and continue to read a political agenda that has already been shoved down the nation’s throats for the last 4 years. If it weren’t for that this would be getting a 4.5/5 review from because I thoroughly enjoyed everything else and have never read a book with this ending.
I don't know about this one. This book made me angry. The FMC, Patricia goes through so much in this book and she is so strong and upbeat throughout. Patricia is a rock and deals with 100% of the emotional load of this "relationship". This girl needs a break already. James, who is supposed to be the love of her life is quite the piece of work. There is "unwavering support" and then there is being taken advantage of and I am a firm believer that Patricia is on the losing end in this relationship. I am aware that this isn't a sappy, happy love story and that all real life relationships have their fair share of challenges but this was just depressing.
This book was not for me but since it was so short I did finish it despite not enjoying it very much. I hate to give a book like this a low rating especially since it is "based on true events" but I have to be honest in saying I didn't love it and I don't really feel like it's "a modern fairytale". And if I hear the word "unwavering" one more time I'm going to vomit.
I know this book is short but this felt like an outline of a book and wasn't quite fleshed out enough. There is a lot of telling and not a lot of showing.

The Rose Colored Prince is a wonderful tale of love and resilience amidst life's uncertainties. Patricia's journey resonated with me deeply as she navigated the complexities of relationships and confronted the harsh realities of mental illness. What drew me in was the raw honesty of the narrative and the way it beautifully portrayed the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity. This book reminded me that true love isn't always perfect but can still be incredibly powerful and transformative.
Hold onto your heartstrings, folks, because The Rose Colored Prince is about to take you on an emotional rollercoaster! This ain't your typical fairytale romance—nope, it's a raw and real journey through love's highs and lows. Patricia and James might seem like the perfect couple, but trust me, their story is anything but predictable. From heart-fluttering moments to gut-wrenching twists, this book had me hooked from the first page. So grab a bowl of ice-cream and get ready for a wild ride through the maze of love and life! 🌹❤️
